I prefer 13 episodes per season like Mad Men, the quality never seems to dip. I hate starting a new show that's been going for a few years, trying to catch up is a nuisance with each season consisting of 20+ episodes. Takes. Forever.

Yeah 20+ bugs me because even though every episode can be amazing it's just too much to keep up with. Maybe if it was on British TV every week with a break in the middle (like Desperate Housewives used to take a break over Christmas) I could keep up but otherwise remembering to download every week is just so much effort!

I use SideReel and track all my favourite shows so I know when they're airing, can be pretty handy when it just makes a TV schedule for you. I cannot deal with figuring out how long the continuous breaks are. That's another thing I like about smaller networks (Showtime, HBO etc). I hate waiting months for an episode, only to wait another two weeks for another. Bah.

I agree that UK TV needs longer seasons. I do quite like that Weeds is only 12-15eps a season as it'd just be way too OTT and ridiculous over 22eps.
I'm fine with 6 episodes per series, as long as there are 2 series per year. But I'd like more episodes.
UK shows normally have six episodes though incase they get poorly recieved and ratings drop. It's different for the US as they can afford to give shows 12/13 episodes before they axe them, but we can't really. Also I'm glad the majority of sitcoms especially in the UK have six episodes - anymore than that then they're scraping the barrel for good material. It's why shows like Fawlty Towers are so well remembered.
Two season pick up for the CBS show How I Met Your Mother.

Much as I love this show, how long can it go on before we find out who 'mother' is?

I wish my favourite shows had 27 episodes per season. Even though most have 22 episodes, they still seem to go on break loads of times.

This.

However if you get OBSESSED with the said show 22 episodes won't seem to be ENOUGH.

How I Met Your Mother is bare crap now, for sure I used to love it but now it's just not funny and stopped being funny in series 2.
I think the two seasons HIMYM will be the last two. Im unsure though if they are going to have the last episode be him meet the mother, or be the wedding? As I feel like it would be good if the last line was naration of Ted going "and that kids is how I met your mother" But not sure if they will have him meet her before the end and have some other stories after?

I think 10-16 is a good amount

22 episodes can drag and are guilty of having filler episodes to keep the season going.

Shows like Bones, Mentalist, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, American Dad and the likes can even have 47 episodes per season, because they are incredible. <3

Oh dear god yes!

Warner Bros Television has confirmed that Charlie Sheen has been fired from Two and a Half Men.

Production on the current season of the CBS comedy had initially been shut down following controversial remarks made by Sheen about show creator Chuck Lorre. The actor has since given a number of television interviews blasting Lorre and other executives and threatening to sue Warner Bros and CBS.

"After careful consideration, Warner Bros Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately," the company said in a statement.

Sheen has since told TMZ: "This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshisc**k again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."

It is not yet clear whether the show will continue in Sheen's absence. CBS has so far declined to comment.

Its finally happened..

He is actually a total mentalist. I don't know how he even managed to film the most recent episodes when he's so clearly done so much crack that he hasn't got the slightest clue what he's on about. Sheen mania is crazy. I pity his dad and kids.

Originally I thought he was just being a complete crackhead who didn't have any idea what was happening (thus creating genius oneliners). Sadly, he seems to be completely self aware which makes this all terribly unfunny and a little sad.
