B&S chances will be more clear after tonight, when 'Body Of Proof' is taking it's slot after DH (and BoP could potentially take over that slot next season if it does well tonight - it has the Dana Delany link to DH), and next Sunday when there's a B&S double bill.

If they got told 'cancelled' now, is it too late for a proper ending? Maybe the writers should do a season finale that could also act as a series finale, just in case?

I hope No ordinary family gets a second season....

It started off pretty slow and tbh there isn't too many big shocker moments, but it has so much charm to it and it's has a funny quirkiness to it which I love. I'm interested in seeing what happens to the characters. Besides it fills the empty hole I've had ever since The 4400 ended.

Plus it seems like it's finally starting to get somewhere, which is a shame considering it's getting somewhere in about the last five episodes. Too many filler type episodes early on I think.

There is very little chance of that. The ratings were pretty $h!t.

As for Brothers & Sisters, Body of Proof debuted to a 3.1

The leads in No Ordinary Family have already signed onto new pilots and it reached a recent series 'high' of 5.4m viewers last week with a 1.5 in the 18-49s (which is awful still) so I doubt it's getting renewed. Shame really. I'm still working my way through the series and it's flawed but a lot of fun. I love me some Julie Benz.

Interested to see how Body Of Proof scored in the ratings last night coming after DH... hopefully putting it on Sunday as a one-off will have done it more good than harm.

That was the first episode! The second one aired last night after DH and the third is tomorrow back in its usual Tuesday 10pm slot.
Will have to wait until Tuesday's ratings to see the numbers in it's normal slot, but iirc, the last B&S original got a 2.1, but last nights BoP retained more of it's DH lead-in. Wonder what the chances are of them both managing to get some kind of renewal =/

But TBH 5th season is so far the weakest in the bunch :(

House and Bones are both now still waiting, their 2nd and 4th highest rated scripted shows iirc. Why can't they just announce it already :(
SHOCKING CANCELLATION FOR BOTH OF THEM :o
Double B&S got a 1.8, lower than BoP last week but you could argue that B&S didn't have DH lead it to help it (not that the retention is great).

Desperate Housewives news. Looks like an 8th and possibly 9th season will air,

Also,

According to the report, each lady of Wisteria Lane would earn a base salary of $325,000 per episode for the eighth season, and if the show is picked up for a ninth, they'll get $350,000 per episode.

Still quite a lot of money, however I think that is a decrease on their current pay which I'm sure I have read was $400,000 an episode. Oh well, still amazing salaries for them.

I find it really sad that I can read that without being excited by it. A sign of how far DH has fallen. Season 6 was so patchy but it did at least have the brilliant humour that's been present since day one... and I enjoyed the Bolens and the way Katharine's story was wrapped up. I just found all of the big dramatic storylines so horribly predictable. Bree has been KILLED in every sense other than the literal. Her character is so far beyond redemption now. The disaster episode was bloody awful - that plane? Really? The shots in the air looked like something from Thunderbirds. All of the guest stars nowadays are overly camp and cannot act. The set pieces all look super cheap compared with the likes of Brothers & Sisters - everything seems to be made from plastic. Lynette's family unit are stale as hell. I watched up until the season ended to see how things worked out for Angie and co (and admittedly I enjoyed Patrick and the conclusion to their storyline with the bomb) but I have no desire to bother with season 7 whatsoever. I don't think I can handle it, it just makes me ill with sadness to think how far it's fallen since the mighty days of season 4.

Ack, I think DH is well past its prime :( The big NONO for me was when they killed Edie :(

I think rather than stretch it out for another few years, just end it now.

Jark I agree, I don't think the show will ever return to the glory days that were season 1 and 4. However i think it is still worth a watch and is still entertaining. Season 7 is a much bigger improvement over season 6. The only thing is the mystery over Paul young is really $h!t. His new wife however is fabulous. I do think that they have shown character progression with Bree. It would be really stale if she had stayed the all perfect housewife she was in earlier seasons. She does seem to have literally forgotten all the morals she once held so proud. I do miss the light hearted humour that was a feature of previous seasons. Will never forget "Rex cries when he ejaculates" Best awkward moment in television history.

I think that was from the first or second episode wasn't it? It was AMAZING. The delivery of the line, the fact that it wasn't built up to with that plinky-plonk 'clumsy' music that would definitely play over the scene if it was in one of the later seasons... the fact that everybody was genuinely SHOCKED whereas nowadays Bree can't do anything shocking because she's the most immoral of all the women. I agree everybody needs progression but progression is Gaby learning to balance having a family and being a mother with the fact that she's still glamorous and desirable, progression isn't Bree fucking every single 30-something man with a six pack who happens to pass through Fairview and then having a big 'emotional' moment of realisation once every few episodes where she realises what a HORRIBLE person she's become... and then goes and does it all again anyway the next week.

I'm ranting now. I'll probably end up watching season 7 anyway. Ha.
