January 19, 201114 yr From ESC Today; German 2010 Eurovision winner and 2011 German representative Lena will be releasing a brand new album with the 12 candidate songs to compete at the German Eurovision 2011 national final on the 8th of February. One of the tracks from this album will be chosen by the German audience to represent Germany in Düsseldorf. Lena's latest album is titled Good news. Lena will be defending her title next May, hence she will be presenting at total of 12 entries in the forthcoming German Eurovision 2011 semifinals scheduled to be held on the 31st of January and 7th of February, which will be aired live on private German channel ProSieben. Whilst the German national final will be held on the 18th of February and will be aired live on ARD. Good news is the title of Lena's latest album with the 12 Eurovision 2011 hopeful German candidates. She will be kicking off her German tour in April. Lena won the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest last year in Oslo with her song Satellite, bringing the contest on German soil for the 3rd time and giving Germany its 2nd Eurovision victory. As I expected, the 12 NF songs will form her second album in its enitreity. Well, the songs will all be over the internet in HQ in less than three weeks then :D Very much looking forward to this album!
January 19, 201114 yr Author Scheduled for an 8th February release according to Amazon. Official cover: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41NbWhEeVWL._SL500_AA240_.jpg :drama: It's on her official website, but I hope they change it. How cheap. Hopefully all the money has been spent on getting great songs. edit: Doesn't look as bad in HQ  http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/9148/lenagoodnewscover.jpg rmNhEeArvnA Edited January 19, 201114 yr by Jack Sykes
January 19, 201114 yr 12 songs - she could actually come top ten if enough work's gone into them all!
January 20, 201114 yr This is up there with Melodifestivalen in my excitement and anticipation levels this year! Germany are clearly very proud of their win and I really think Stefan will have put a lot of time and effort in over the last year to find a great bunch of songs. The last thing anyone involved will want is for Lena to flop, but short of a miracle, sadly the only way is down. Top five/ten would be respectable but if she scrapes in 18th, it's really not going to look good on her or for her long term career prospects - the one hit wonder tag will beckon.
January 20, 201114 yr Zzzzz, its like Lena is the only relevant singer in Germany these days... I think it's a nice idea to give her the chance to defend her title. It won't work but still...
January 23, 201114 yr A whole album being performed on national TV in one day. Huge promo. Two days. There are two semi finals before the National Final. The semi's are on Cable and the NF is the only one broadcasting on Free-to-air TV
January 24, 201114 yr Can you imagine if Lena came bottom five this year? I have high hopes for her though, Satellite!
January 29, 201114 yr Does anyone know if the semis and final will be streamed on the Internet? Really looking forward to seeing what they've come up with :)
January 29, 201114 yr Author I'm sure the final will be, I remember that Rich watched the final live last year. Not as sure about the semi's, they're being broadcast on Pro7, which I think is a cable channel, so I don't know how things work with cable streaming.

I don't think I'll ever forget that broadcast and my accompanying comments  I hope there is a stream, really want to hear the songs asap!
January 29, 201114 yr Author I'm a bit surprised that we haven't been given any song titles read, but I have read that we can expect a mixture of styles, like ballads, jazz & 'electro stuff' :kink: I'll watch if there is a stream, but what I want most is good quality studio versions. They better be released to German iTunes straight after, and on YT by the end of the night.
January 31, 201114 yr Author http://escdaily.com/articles/9140 Starting now. A stream is available on the right hand side on the page above.
January 31, 201114 yr Good News: I really like this, it's very mature and simple yet classy and she looks stunning, this definitely isn't an ESC winner though. 8.5/10
January 31, 201114 yr Author Song #1 - 'Good News' Decent enough, quite catchy, sounds like a grower. But not strong enough, we need something better. From the small clip, I am really liking the sound of 'Maybe'. Edited January 31, 201114 yr by Jack Sykes
January 31, 201114 yr Author Song #2 - 'Maybe' Already love it. Found it really catchy, and although no 'Satellite', it could be a worthy follow up I think
