Chances are that on top of that $40m they'll have budgeted another $20m+ for marketing... and it's actually made $37m worldwide. It could do with being at $100m when all is said and done really. They'll probably see how it does on DVD before they sign off on a sequel.

I saw it with 13 of my friends (Yes, 13) and we were all in stitches laughing... I absaloutley loved it!! We thought some of the deaths were hilarious, and it kept me at th edge of my seat the whole way through. And I loooooooooved the beginnign (even though it was a tad confusing!) I'd give it 8/10, maybe 8.5/10 :)

I did like it ... I thought it was perhaps a bit too reliant on the humour side of things though, the original three movies were definetly alot more darker in their humour and tone. This took the p*** a little imo.

Never ever in a million years expected the killer! I thought it might've been

the policewoman and Trevor

. Sydney and Gale were probably the highlights of the movie for me but I thought Kirby was the best of the newies!

Surprised none of the newbies survived - kind of rules out a sequel unless Sydney and Gale return again.

. I'd say it was definetly better than the borefest of the third film ... but doesn't come anywhere near to the first two which are some of my favourite films of all time.

I LOVED IT! I'd rank it above 3 (of course) but below 1 and 2, but they're pretty classic as far as films in this genre go anyway.

I agree with what people have said about the acting. A number of times I found myself judging how awful the acting was rather than paying attention to what was going on - the original three characters being particularly guilty of it I thought. Fortunately, acting isn't really the highlight NOR the point of Scream.

I loved that the original three were the only ones to survive, I was so sure at various times throughout the film they were all done for and I thought it'd be the shock everyone was expecting (which is maybe why it didn't happen in the end. Shocking but TOO predictable.)

I also loved the typical Scream humour, poking fun at other films, at sequels and at itself and I thought it handled it all really well considering we're quite far down the line with the franchise now.

The ending was interesting. I had quite a few people pegged as the killer at various points so wasn't too surprised when it turned out to be who it was - but it wasn't the most predictable so kudos to them for that. Being able to keep people guessing after all this time is quite some skill.

I was expecting it to be pretty atrocious (of the levels of the third at best) considering some negative press about it, but I thought it was really good.

I Loved the film too. I havent seen any of the first three but i though the twist at the end was good. Never thought that "Nancy Drew" would be the killer lol

Connor, That's bang out tbh ruining it for people. If i hadn't seen it I would be fuming. I hope Regina dosen't see it or Jonjo. I'm sure Jonjo was going to see it today though?
Nope. Going tomorrow! Can't wait and I've purposely (for the first time EVER) stayed away from highlighting the spoilers! I have a feeling this will be one of those incredibly $h!t films, but that'll be a part of it's charm

Wow I really did love it and i agree it's a shame none of the newies survived except the deputy, which i think is really the only place they can go for a sequel, i kinda guessed Jill was one of the killers when i realised she hadn't actually been in it too much, Charlie as the killer was a bit of a surprise but as soon as Kirby answered the questions right and the expression on his face i knew he was (it's a real shame Hayden's character died, by far the most likeable and best of the newbies). The only time I thought one of the originals might die was when Gale was attacked, knew Sidney wasn't dead and predicted the ending almost to a T except the deputy serviving. I thought maybe the boyfriend or the deputy would be the killer but i thought they were too obvious. I'd say this was tied 2nd for the franchise with the second one. Also loved the beginning with the movie within a movie within a movie, i think i recognised all of the 4 girls from Stab 6 and 7, the girl from 90210 and the girl from Pretty Little Liars and the girl from True Blood and the girl from Hereos?

I didn't  But its getting tougher avoiding spoilers :(

Saw this today! I was actually pleased with it. It really wasn't as bad as I was expecting or as bad as people were making it out to be. I like how they took the p*** out of $h!t remakes and sequels too. The start was brilliant! I loved it. I'm also pleased with the way it ended! But what I want to know is...

how are they going to carry on the franchise with a "new generation", if they've killed off all the main, new characters? Hopefully they make another one and carry on for another trilogy, so they can sort of tie things up.

But yes, it's definitely better than I thought it would be.

Also,

I was not expecting that ending! Thank God I strayed away from the spoilers! I thought it'd be the deputy woman and I thought maybe it would be Dewey (I thought it'd be ONE of the originals - I dunno. I was just expecting that kind of shock so I was preparing myself for it. Before it became clear it wouldn't be Sydney (pretty much straight away LOL) and Gale.) I knew it wouldn't be Trevor (it was done before in the other films - which was the total opposite of what this film was meant to be) Gutted Kirby died! She was amazing and it would have been nice to have seen Hayden again :-(.)

AAAAND (sorry I forgot to mention this! haha)

Don't forget the deputy woman is technically an "original" character. As they said she was in Sydney's classes and stuff. So all the old generation survived, whilst the new generation were killed off. I think she was supposed to survive for that very reason.

I know this is clutching at straws but i'm sorta hoping Kirby is still alive, we didn't actually see her dead body, she got stabbed the same amount of times as Sidney. Also i think Jill could still be alive as she didn't get shot in the head and they sort of left it open with her being the hero with all the news readers. Also i'd love for Kirby to be the new surviving.

When Regina sees the movie we can stop using spoilers, hopefully!

Yeah, the left the ending weird nobody knows if Kirby or Jill Died. I would love Jill to survive and come back and kill of Sydney in the final scream that would be shocking yet brilliant! I think kirby though - I really do. They wouldn't be stupid enough to kill of all the new generation.

Regina why is it taking you so long? I bet your desperete to highlight these spoilers?

Lack of funds :( I have some money now but my Mum promised to treat me, late Birthday treat

I really am desperate to see it though :(

Oh, I thought it was because you wasn't 15 yet.
hopefully going to see this again when i go back to uni :D

GUYS even when Regina has seen it (and basically up until the DVD release) can we carry on using spoilers for spoilerific discussion please? I might not get to see it until the DVD release but I'll still be popping in to give box office updates. :D $45m globally so far.
