Posted January 19, 201114 yr http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a29...-uncertain.html Wednesday, January 19 2011, 12:24 GMT Gary Barlow has said that he does not see Robbie Williams as a permanent addition to Take That. The band had reunited with Robbie to record Progress, the biggest-selling album of last year in the UK. Appearing on BBC Radio 2 this morning, Barlow stated: "I think even moving forward, I know we’re back with Rob right now, but we still see our future as a four-piece band. "We see Take That as a four-piece band in general." All five members will promote the band's new single, 'Kidz', released on February 28.
January 19, 201114 yr Author Best news item I've read all day ^_^ Lets hope Robbie see's it the same way as GB does
January 19, 201114 yr Just look here how the press can twist a headline  Unbelievable. http://www.londonnet.co.uk/entertainment/2...-rest-take.html For what it's worth, I only ever saw Rob being in TT for one album and(maybe) one tour. But with him I guess you never know.
January 19, 201114 yr I thought this was what everyone wanted anyway - I think its good news for both sets of fans - and in the meantime used this album (and tour) to calm some troubled waters and get on with it. If Gary thinks however that they'll top the next tour by going back to a foursome ... I think he's mistaken. The Circus was a bloody big act to top ... and they've done it by having Rob on the Progress tour. Even if it isn't as 'big' a visual event - the fact that they are back to the original line-up is, on paper at least, topping The Circus. I can't see Gary wanting to do a tour that isn't bigger than the last ... so what do they do if they go back to a foursome (no matter how good the music). Get Nigel back maybe? Kath He doesn't half talk some bollox sometimes! Edited January 19, 201114 yr by Kathyp
January 19, 201114 yr Well, it wouldn't last forever anyway. It will be quite mature to split up when they are all still friends this time. For a change... I also feel TT definitely won't top next tour in same way neither TT4 nor Robbie solo will probably repeat Progress' huge sales. Soon enough (maybe even in a year) it could become the best-seller for both acts. But both have had great sales and chart success so far in their careers, let's not be greedy. A great album (Rob solo) is good enough for me even if it sells 2Xplat. (it won't) Even if the reunion ends right after the tour finishes, both acts have benefited from it and in a surprising way it has worked out much better and more civilized than I expected, love the album , love the singles, will watch them on tour and I've come to like the rest 4 a bit more Edited January 19, 201114 yr by 7heDreamer
January 19, 201114 yr Even if the reunion ends right after the tour finishes, both acts have benefited from it and in a surprising way it has worked out much better and more civilized than I expected, love the album , love the singles, will watch them on tour and I've come to like the rest 4 a bit more I think when Rob returns to his solo work (note : I am not saying 'leaves Take That') then Take That should announce a 'break' and come back in 5 or 10 years time ... as a FIVE. That - or just announce that they are ending it all. I don't think there is any way they can go back to a 4 and have as great a success as they've achieved so far. By the way - I still like four of them - Mark, Jason, Howard ... and Rob. Kath
January 20, 201114 yr I cant see them taking a break but they may do after the next album, with robbie re joining for progress they had to prove it could work and in another way they have to prove they can make it work again when he is gone. I think both robbie and take that will both make strong follow ups to progress as they in some ways will want to prove them themselves as 2 individual acts again.
January 21, 201114 yr Author http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/a...41295622771897A Barlow: We're recording with Robbie Gary Barlow has revealed that Take That have been recording more new songs as a five-piece. The singer - who celebrated his 40th birthday this week - told BBC Radio 2 Robbie Williams was continuing to work with them in the studio, although he was unsure whether the tracks would form a new album. It comes just days after Gary said during an interview that he thought of the group as "a four-piece", without Robbie, who rejoined the line-up after a 15-year absence for latest album Progress. But interviewed during a special show to mark his milestone birthday, Gary said Robbie was always welcome in the group. "I want it to be that [Robbie] can be here whenever he wants and when he doesn't want to we'll be back as a four-piece, and if Rob wants to go and be solo then great, but please come back one day. I want to make it that fluid," he said. The Rule the World singer insisted that when Robbie returned to the group, no dates had been set in stone for how long he would stay. "We can exist and be successful as a four-piece band. Right now we are a five-piece band and we don't really know where that's going to at this point," he added. "We're actually back recording right now, new songs. I don't think it's going to be a new record, I think its going to be an addition. "I don't think we feel like we'd said it all when we got to the end of this record and we want to add to it, so we're already back writing and recording as a five-piece again."
January 21, 201114 yr But is Robbie writing solo stuff too? That's what I want. I think he should write more stuff with Gary Barlow (for Rob's solo portfolio). I'll tell you what ... The Co-op must love Heart & I - everytime I go into one (a Co-op) they're playing it on the Co-op radio station. I can't get the song out of my head now! Kath
