Oh Lord, the Top 10 is absolutely dreadful, only Adele stands out defending quality in music.

Jessie J must be one of the most overrated acts of the moment, Iglesias is such an uninspired has been now, Chris Brown launched another trashy mainstream throwaway urban/pop, Diddy follows in the footsteps of the worst rubbish turned 2010 smashes namely Love The Way You Lie & Airplanes... when will music switch back to quality?

Quality is a matter of opinion, what you see as quality some would disagree with, so there will never be a point where everyone agree's that a top 10 is all 'quality'.

Even though I agree about Adele, she represents quality music can still sell incredibly.

I completely disagree, I actually like every song inside the top 10 at the moment.. 'We R Who We R' to a lesser extent but I think its looking great just now.

Hope Jessie J's lead increases :cheer:

As long as she's even 1 copy ahead of Bruno, it won't make much difference.

I do like Rolling in the Deep (infact, I like almost the entire top 10), but Coming Home>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rolling in the Deep.

Just saying. :) It's a masterpiece.

And with the phenomenal Wonderman and I Need a Docter not far out of the top 10, it could be getting even better soon!!!!

Wonderman is indeed quite decent, what this Doctor is I have no idea but Coming Home is so utterly unoriginal that its popularity is a crime. It sounds so bland just like 90% of all American rap/r&b collaborations where a rapper talks and a lady whines (Eminem/Rihanna, BOB/Hayley Williams, Jay-Z/Alicia Keys etc). I miss good old indie days. Last week finally saw some influx of a more inspired music in the UK Top 40 (from the likes of Chase & Status, Beady Eye, Vaccines or The Wombats) but they'll all probably be gone soon and the bloody urban mainstream crap tunes being consistently carbon copies of each other will linger forever... 2011 looks so pessimistic.

Coming Home is from the same producer as Airplanes and LTWYL, so it's hardly surprising they're quite similar. It's a winning formula.

Calling Beady Eye and The Vaccines 'inspired'? Alright then... The Roller is just an Oasis song and PB-US is a continuation of mid-2000s landfill indie that somehow filtered through to the top 40 in 2011.

 Coming Home does sound like a bunch of other songs (Live You Life, Never Leave You (which is a British song), Invincible (which is also British), Love the Way You Lie, etc.), but it's fantastic in its own right imo. It's annoying when it's the same artist releasing the identical songs, and when everybody claims they're different and original, but in this case, it's different artists, and most people seem well aware of some similarities here. It's popularity is not a crime, because it's a brilliant composition of music. And I thoroughly enjoy listening to it. :)

And I find it deeply offensive that you call it "talking". THIS is talking:

Coming Home is much, much more than "a rapper talking".

And I would not call Skylar Grey "a lady". Again, she's more than "a lady". I'm already considering Skylar Grey borderline deity, if I'm completely honest.

What's this marcin chap talking about????

Maybe not very 'inspired' but much more so than those repetitive rap collaborations all based around winning formulas and famous producers.

Anyway, it's just my opinion.
