The 'Better Than Today' singer recently celebrated her fifth year free of the disease, but during an interview with The Mail On Sunday she accepted that the devastating side effects of chemotherapy may stay with her forever. She stated: "You have to accept the good and bad in life, and I have to be honest and accept that after everything I’ve been through - the treatment for breast cancer - I may not actually be able to conceive. I would absolutely love to, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen, and that’s OK, because I’m well and I can enjoy the children around me. "Having a serious illness like that really teaches you about yourself. One important thing I realised is that you’re still the same person at the end. You’re stripped down to near zero, but you come out the other end feeling more like yourself than ever before." Minogue also spoke of her love for the children of her siblings Dannii and Brendan, adding that they allow her to let out "another side" separate from her public persona. "I'm definitely very happy being glamorous and being on stage in my little costumes, glitter, heels, make-up and perfect hair. But there’s another side to me most people don’t get to see... when I’m with my nephews I turn into this woman who rolls around on the floor, changing nappies and getting covered in poop."
