Sir Elton John and Robbie Williams reunite after kidnap drama

by Matt Glazebrook, Posted Feb 04, 2011

Sorry seems not to be the hardest word for Sir Elton John and Robbie Williams. The once feuding duo apparently put aside their differences at a Take That recording session last year, after a six year stand off over claims in Williams' autobiography.

The two crooners' friendship had been on ice since Williams wrote in his 2004 memoir 'Feel' that John and partner David Furnish had "kidnapped" him during his drug-fuelled late '90s and packed him off to rehab. Now, though, the 'Candle In The Wind' singer has given his take on the disputed abduction and revealed how the pair patched things up in the studio, Contactmusic reports.

"In his book, he'd said something about me kidnapping him," Sir Elton explained. "I was very upset and we both had a go at each other. We didn't kidnap him, he turned up on our door coked out of his brains and we took him to our house in Windsor because we thought he was going to die.

"When I saw Robbie with Gary [barlow] he asked me if we were OK again," the vocalist continued. "I told him of course we were, there's no point hanging on to bad feelings. I knew what he'd been through, drink and drugs -- if anyone can understand that, it's me."

Well, You Know My Name is Robbie and I Like to Do Drawings

By: MacKenzie Wilson Posted: Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Ever wonder what Robbie Williams does when he's not writing blockbuster pop songs or preparing for a sold out UK tour with his Take That bandmates? According to The Sun, the 36-year-old English crooner is quite the budding artist. And apparently, he's having a studio built in his Los Angeles home where he can hone his "portraiture and still life drawing skills." Go Rob!

"Robbie has really taken to drawing," a source revealed. "The ones he's done so far are fabulous."

One of Robbie's first pieces was, oddly enough, of Rod Stewart. Um, seriously? "It's so good. It's just one of many," the source maintained.

I would have thought Robbie might be inspired to draw one of his many dogs or his lovely wife, Ayda Field? Anyhow, here's hoping Robbie keeps at it and one day shares his talent with the rest of us. Hey, if he ever truly grows tired of being an entertainer, it's nice to know he'll have something creative to fall back on. Right?

Wish we could see his efforts. Maybe the 'Official Site' could set up a Gallery

Robbie Williams finally ditches his favourite holey jumper for a smart night out with wife Ayda

Over the last few months, Robbie Williams has practically been living in his favourite stripey jumper, complete with holes and rips.

But fortunately the singer ditched the messy knitwear last night as he smartened up to attend his favourite designer's party.

The 36-year-old wore a black suit and matching shirt as he cosied up to his actress wife Ayda Field, 31, at Selfridges last night.

Someone looks smart: Robbie Williams looked dapper in a black suit as he joins wife Ayda Field at the Spencer Hart launch at Selfridges in London

Tailor Nick Hart invited Robbie and a few other celebrity friends to attend the launch of his new Spencer Hart concession in the department store in London's Oxford Street.

Also in attendance was Robbie's old friends Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 35, and retired rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio, 38.

Robbie has been a key figure in Spencer Hart's success in the fashion world.

Just seven months after Hart launched his first Spencer Hart (named after his son) shop in Savile Row in March 2002, Robbie invited him to create his wardrobe for a TV special, striking up an ongoing partnership.

Two years later Hart opened a shop in the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York, and Liberty of London in 2009.

Robbie once told GQ magazine: 'From the day I met Nick, I have worn little else but Spencer Hart on a smart day.

'I still can't pull off the slimline look with quite as much ease as him, but I am working on it. You can spot his style a mile off, and I love it.'

Other celebrity fans include David Bowie, Duran Duran, Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx and Kanye West.

Meanwhile, Robbie is preparing to release his second single since his reunion with Take That - Kidz.

The group are expected to perform at the Brit Awards on Tuesday, where they are also up for Best British Album for Progress.

However, bandmate Gary Barlow recently suggested Robbie rejoining the band was only temporary.

He said: 'I think even moving forward, I know we’re back with Rob right now, but we still see our future as a four-piece band.

'We see Take That as a four-piece band in general.

'When we came back in 2005 we had the conversation, "Can we do this as four?" Thanks to the fans who bought the records, we proved we can.'

Robbie rejoined Take That last summer 15 years after he walked out on the group at the peak of their Nineties fame.

DECLAN DONNELLY is spotted on ANT McPARTLIN's right-hand side about as often as Newcastle United fans wear a jacket - once a year.

So it must have been a special occasion for the Geordie heroes to pose with their pal ROBBIE WILLIAMS out of their normal formation.

The three lads showed up for their tailor Nick Hart's big launch at Selfridges in London last night. Nick makes all the boys' sharp suits with his firm Spencer Hart. Robbie was there with his stunning missus AYDA FIELD.

Other famous faces included Dragons' Den star PETER JONES and ex-England rugby captain LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO. Spencer Hart will need a lot of fabric to keep those giants kitted out. It probably balances itself out with the little fellas off the telly.

Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh sign £1.25m X Factor deals

SIMON Cowell is expected to offer Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue £1.25million each to keep them as X Factor judges.

The pair are likely to accept the improved terms and ITV1 are expected to seal the deal within weeks.

Simon believes they are the lynchpins of the British show and without them it would struggle.

Bosses are putting together contracts for Dannii, 39, and Louis, 58, before filming begins in May.

It’s a pay rise of around eight per cent for both stars, understood to be on £1.1m in 2010. A source says changes this year will bring in two new judges – said to be Robbie Williams and Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger – while Simon and Cheryl Cole leave to join the US version. But the source added: “There’s no way they’ll go off and forget about the UK show. Simon and Cheryl will be involved in some way during the UK series.”

There were fears the 51-year-old music mogul might bow out of the ITV1 version because of his US commitments.

But Simon joked this week: “We’re in the process of building a rocket and it’s literally going to fly us from LA to London in an hour. It hasn’t been tested yet.” ( I love Simon's dry humour )

I wish it would fly him to oblivion in an hour - THEN I'd be happy.

I hope Robbie turns X-F down - he'd go up even higher than he has reached so far in my estimation.

Breathtaking news, Robbie has a vevo! (since mid of Jan 2011)

That's good. At last a place where Rob's videos posted won't be taken down.

I'd love to see which will now become more popular among them... (it should be Feel on a WW scale)
