March 1, 201114 yr I'm sure what is going to be revealed about Alice's death is that is was a tragic accident - but somehow Olive was responsible - as far as a child can be responsible Been thinking that too. I wonder if maybe Alice had been taunting Olive & she lashed out. Didn't we see Olive's mother burning Alice's coat. Looking forward to Thursday's concluding episode. Great drama series.
March 3, 201114 yr Nice ending, it pieced everything together, I didn't know Robert had a thing for Olive's mother. I did wonder why Scott went back to the village running the local PO, I was hoping it would fill whatever happened to his sister and his parents.
March 3, 201114 yr Author Nice ending, it pieced everything together, I didn't know Robert had a thing for Olive's mother. I did wonder why Scott went back to the village running the local PO, I was hoping it would fill whatever happened to his sister and his parents. I loved the ending. I'm so glad that they didn't go for a vile 'murder' ending (although I deep down I knew that this program was too clever for that.) I think the whole thing about the program was Ruth's search for closure. I felt so sorry for Olive - she'd been torturing herself for years - and yet she'd done nothing to feel any guilt about. I have to say - may favourite era was the 80's family - Dean Andrews and the little girl who played Amy worked brilliantly together. And nice, for the story, for Helen to admit to Amy that she believed in Alice and that Alice was actually a 'good girl'. Kath BTW - The Robert and Liz Runcie thing was a very, very popular topic of conversation on DS - and all those posters can feel pleased with themselves for getting it right. Although the 'wasp' story still has its merits. This program could have gone down many satisfactory conclusions. Edited March 3, 201114 yr by Kathyp
