With Kobayashi

With Buemi

If you're attempting to defend Heidfeld you failed on both counts.

The first video is just hilarious. Not even PIQUET JR would have done something that retarded. An F1 driver should be able to judge distances and not hit the back of someone. That was his fault and if he was a good driver he'd have avoided that crash. I could have avoided that crash before I'd had my first bloody driving lesson ffs.

The second is hilarious. While Buemi should have used his mirrors, why would Heidfeld park his car in a spot that he should know is on the racing line that Buemi is following. If you are going to attempt to go round the outside at the corner (to be on the inside for the next) you have to state your intentions earlier or face being run off the track.

Neither would have happened with a better driver. I'd have sacked him on those alone.

Will anyone else get replaced?

Was it the right decison for Riccardo to drive for Hispania?

Ricciardo has looked alright so far, at least as alright as a rookie can in HRT. He's seemed to get closer to Liuzzi than Karthikeyan did.

Oh Massa :(.

Has something happened? :???:

I think a combination of Alonso being Ferrari's darling and Hamilton's fondness for Massa's rear wing has contributed to his poor form / low points tally really. As much as I was a Massa fan back in 08, I think it's time for him to move on and have someone with a stronger personality come in for him. I highly doubt he'll ever win another race. Would LOVE Jenson at Ferrari, but don't see it happening due to the new conract he just signed, so ideally a fit again Kubica seems the most logical choice, especially if Renault want to continue the Senna / Petrov combination. A part of me would love Schumacher to go back to Ferrari, to really pit himself against Alonso again and to ultimately prove if he still has it or not.

Hamilton has also now officially split with Nicole Scherzinger, no doubt this will be used as the excuse for his abysmal performances. He's had more incidents than Liuzzi this year, and that's an impressive achievement. If it were any other of the drivers at the top teams having so many incidents etc I doubt they'd still have a seat. ANOTHER penalty in India for ignoring yellow flags? Hopefully next year McLaren and Ferrari improve so Jenson and Fernando can challenge Vettel a bit more.

I do agree that not all of Massa's poor performance this season has been his fault, but even without that he's still been consistently 6th best. In Korea he was infront of Alonso but couldn't get near the McClaren's and Webber, as soon as Alonso overtook him he was much faster than the cars ahead. He hasn't been on the podium all year and I can't see him getting it. In a season where there's only ever really 6 cars in contention for it, that's abysmal. An unforced crash in qualifying this morning too puts him 6th again.

I've never really rated him that highly but part of that was down to bitterness that he got a chance at a big team and Heidfeld never getting one despite him being a better young driver. Since his accident he's just not been the same. Ferrari isn't great and I don't think anyone expects him to be challenging Alonso on a consistent basis, but 6th place with the 5 above him all scoring twice as many points? Awful.

I agree about the accident, and the fact he hasn't broken 100 points yet this season speaks volumes. Also, I constantly feel sorry for Heidfeld, that man just can never catch a break. I still can't believe Renault replaced him with Senna (!!?) this season. Another bore victory for Seb tomorrow, waltzing away from the pack, while the real action happens for 2-5 is on the cards I think. MSC should be the man to watch tomorrow for best value for entertainment.
Massa and Hamilton AGAIN. Don't think either was to blame this time though. I loved Lewis admitting they haven't spoken in AGES though
As soon as Lewis dropped back I could just see it happening! I thought it was a harsh penalty for Massa, but it definitely wasn't Hamilton's fault either.

As of next year Renault will become only an engine supplier and the current Lotus Renault car will be the main Lotus team, with the current changing to Caterham. The Virgin team will be renaimed Marussia after their Russian investment.

Shock today as Vettel retired on lap 1, a puncture to his right rear tyre before the second corner of the race.

Final result:

Hamilton

Alonso

Button

Webber

Massa

Rosberg

Schumacher

Sutil

Di Resta

Kobayashi

which pretty much nails on Force India's 6th place with Sauber one point ahead of Toro Rosso in 7th.

The battle for 2nd-5th:

Button 255

Alonso 243

Webber 233

Hamilton 227

I'm pleased Button should get 2nd, I've somewhat warmed to him this season.

I warmed to Button the second he became Hamilton's team-mate because I knew he would be perceived to be inferior to him, so I'm really glad he's had arguably his strongest season ever this year. Canada really made me start rooting for him, it was one of the best drives I've ever seen.

They'll still be using Renault engines though yes? Iirc there will be be 8 Renault engines on the grid next year. 2 in RBR, 2 in the former () Renault factory car, 2 in fake Lotus and then 2 in Williams.

Also, BIG news of the week is that Renault have signed Kimi to drive for them next year.

(Technically Gennii Capital/Lotus Renault GP/Whatever I know but it's still my factory team to me.)
