Posted February 11, 201114 yr I haven't seen another topic for this, if there is one then they can be merged on one of them closed. Trailer is out and some pictures have been released: UrbHykKUfTM& http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/02/11/article-0-0D21831C000005DC-955_634x433.jpg January Jones as Emma Frost  James McAvoy plays Chares Xavier (Prof. X) Michael Fassbender plays Magneto More info here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...Emma-Frost.html CANNOT wait for this  Looks really good, although Emma Frost is not a shape-shifte, she is a telepath who can turn her body into organic diamond, she cannot use her telepathy when in diamond form either. Just sayin'. OH, Moira MacTaggart better be Scottish too. X-men was always my favourite comic/cartoon/movie series. EDIT: found this on another website: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/images/uploads/xfc2.jpg From left to right: Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Zoe Kravitz as Angel, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier. February 11, 201114 yr looks terrible. and havok being in it makes no sense. i didnt think they could do worse than the Wolverine film, clearly i was wrong.
February 11, 201114 yr I've just watched all four of the X Men films recently and I really liked all of them, although obv some (the first one/two) were better than the others. I will definitely see this and not wait for years like I did with the others! ^_^
February 11, 201114 yr Author looks terrible. and havok being in it makes no sense. i didnt think they could do worse than the Wolverine film, clearly i was wrong. It does feel like they randomly picked Mutants to be in it. I doubt they will make him Cyclops' brother either :( This looks far better than Wolverine
May 26, 201114 yr I'm very excited to see this next weekend. As a few reviews have been coming in today, they have been surprisingly good! Even though it is very early, the first 9 reviews have been positive at Rotten Tomatoes. This makes the film promising that it could be up to the standards of the first two X-Men films (hopefully).
May 31, 201114 yr 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Interesting! I really wasn't sure about the prequel but it does look rather good. I've been waiting a real sequel to the original films - X-Men 3 left such a bad taste in my mouth.
May 31, 201114 yr ALSO JANUARY JONES. I cannot look at her sourpuss face without thinking of Betty Draper.
June 3, 201114 yr I think it looks brilliant. Everything I have read about it thus far makes it look as if it really is going to be one of the best summer blockbusters. January Jones
June 3, 201114 yr Saw this wednesday, it was amazing. It has a stronger storyline than the other films and its basically just f***ing awesome. WATCH IT

June 5, 201114 yr Just went to see this and WOW. It completely took me by surprise! I'm not usually a fan of comic book sort of adaptions and every once in a while one comes a long and blows me away (happened with 'The Dark Knight', 'Iron Man', 'Kick Ass' & now this 'X Men' film!) I've not seen any of the other X Men films, bar half the first one which bored me so I didn't continue with them. But after seeing this, I think I'm going to have to give them all a watch now. It was rather excellent and James McAvoy was fantastic as Professor X! In fact, the whole cast for it was brilliant! Gah. I'd definitely go and see it again!
June 7, 201114 yr Great movie with a great cast, I found Magneto steals the show more than anything, I hope the next 2 follow ups get even better, really enjoyed it. There was glimpse of Hugh Jackman in there. January Jones is well fit, I know she is preggers I bet she will call her baby June, if its a girl. HA
June 7, 201114 yr Hugh Jackman's cameo was AMAZING. I'm glad to hear that there will be two more! Very much looking forward to those then if it's true! :D
June 8, 201114 yr Saw this with a group of friends when it opened, and it was an okay, forgettable popcorn movie. It had a few interesting moments and philiosophical ideas, and the best part of the movie was easily Magneto tracking down the Nazis, in particular the part when he uses his power to give someone a real bad tooth ache: it was a shame that was over too soon, I would have gladly had the whole film center around Magneto. But then we get an endless supply of pointless characters and the plot moves along far too quickly for me to enjoy anything much, with dubious character motivation that services the plot rather than the character; Mystique I'm looking at you. At times the CGI is terrible and some of the fight scenes laughable, especially the "fight scene" between Angel and the Sonic guy. In fact among characters whose powers seem rather well thought out, Angel stood out like a sore thumb: wings, right? Shooting random fireballs out of your mouth...err? Not to mention there are some glaring inconsistenices with the previous films. All in all, it felt like an average episode of Heroes on the big screen. Edited June 8, 201114 yr by Daniel II

Or well, that's what i've heard anyway. Not sure as to how true that is.

I have no idea, but I know there was supposed to be a Magneto or a Deadpool origin story before they went with First Class, although I do remember reading on digitalspy that McAvoy said that there would be a sequel if this makes enough money. Considering how subdued the response has been in the US and over here, I don't know whether another one anytime soon is a certainty at this point. Although, I can't see them giving up on such a big franchise, no matter how diminished the returns become. Edited June 8, 201114 yr by Daniel II
June 8, 201114 yr As far as I know the Origins movie of Magneto movie was shelved for First Class, the First Class franchise is a 3 movie project. The ending was left open for a sequel. Not sure of the Deadpool movie, I'm yet to see the Wolverine Origin movie, some critics found it bad.
