Take That to have 'kids party' at Brits

Robbie Williams turned 37 at the weekend and ,according to the Mirror, is due to celebrate his birthday at The Brits.

A source said: 'Everyone will hang out in Take That's dressing room. Rob is setting it up like a kid's party with Wii consoles. They'll have party food like crisps and sausage rolls.' :w00t:

The band are up for Best British Group and British Album Of The Year at the awards, which take place tomorrow night (February 15th).

Take That will wake up today with a massive Brits party hangover ... and a s400,000 bar bill.

Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen picked up the tab after laying on free booze at a bash to celebrate their Brits triumph.

The best British group winners stumped up s80,000 each to cover the bill for the lavish after-party at London's Savoy hotel last night.

Stars including Rihanna and Justin Bieber flocked to the celebration to enjoy Take That's hospitality - which included 800 bottles of champagne, 60 bottles of spirits and platters of luxury food.

A source said: "The boys were adamant they wanted to celebrate in style. This was the biggest night in their career, as it is the first time at four attempts they have won in this category.

"It was Mark's idea and was their way of saying thank you to record label Universal and their friends.

"The boys agreed on a figure and just went for it. Their wives and partners probably won't be too impressed when they see next month's bank statements but it was an incredible evening."

They were putting on the glitz at the Brits last night as music's most glamorous girls turned on the style.

Rihanna's colourful evening dress looked more fairytale princess than raunchy pop minx, while Cheryl Cole dazzled in a sequinned black number, slashed to the thigh.

Rising star Yasmin - championed by The Razz as one to watch - dared to bare in a cutaway black dress.

Jessie J had the rub of the green as she picked up an award in her dark emerald mini, while Katherine Jenkins wowed the crowd with her strapless leaf-print dress.

Take That thank Robbie Williams after triumphing at the Brits

Take That paid tribute to Robbie Williams after winning the British Group award at the Brit Awards 2011 tonight (February 15).

The band, who welcomed Williams back into the fold last year, beat off competition from Biffy Clyro, The xx, Gorillaz and Mumford and Sons to take home the gong from the London O2 Arena ceremony.

After singer Jason Orange admitted from the stage that the band were "sheepish" about collecting awards, bandmate Mark Owen commented: "Rob, thanks for coming back mate, appreciate it."

It's the first time Take That have won the award, despite receiving three previous nominations.

Earlier in the night, the band opened the show by playing their latest single 'Kidz'.

What do you think of last night's performance?

I have to admit it was not as good as I had expected... I still LOVE the song though!

I feel the same as you. I love this song but (and perhaps I was expecting too much) I was a bit disappointed. This is going to sound awful considering the amount of work and money that went into it - it looked a bit 'Saturday Night Variety Show'. The singing was OK (in fact very good) - but even then I'm not too certain how much of it was a backing track. I know that they had to do something theatrical - but in comparison to some of the other acts ... well it just wasn't as good.

YES. I wish the 5 of them would let go of the old fashined 'mirror' dance routines and and would sing with passion and energy instead (Mark carrying a flag and jumping up and down was cool but not enough) because that's what the song is about. The dance routines are for the dancers, and there were lot of them. I wasn't completely satisfyied with the singing either to tell the truth. (it must have been live)

I think I prefer the live of the Flood over this: 2 big voices singing what they are comfortable with. Kidz was more like a big voice out of its comfort zone and ... well a person that could barely sing (no surprise really). And these dance routines... :nocheer: (when they did the disharming thing I was like 'god NO' :drama:  )

P.S. Robbie looked like he was possesed! He didn't sing a word, he didn't say much for the award (that was cool and kind), and he was somehow not fitting with the show. The rest 4 looked satisfied with the performance and enjoyed themselves and the award at least...

To be honest ... whereas all the others (in turn ... and shock and amazement ... even Gary) seem to be happy to do the backing vocals/harmonizing - and please don't take this the wrong way - unless Robbie is singing the lead - he does seem dis-interested. I really don't know how long this can last. I think he should be thinking about returning to his solo stuff asap ... and make Progress the last album he makes with the guys.

I think being in a band (any band - even if U2 or Coldplay asked him to join them) is like being in a strait-jacket for him.
