Yep, I'm loving the album again after seeing them live!

 

01 - It's by far my favourite on the album. Really hope it gets a single release here and in Sweden, could do very well for them in the latter country at least!

05 - It's definitely my favourite from the new album, really hope Germany decide to send it to Eurovision!

06 - Quite, it's baffling! I would have thought the Icelandic people would have been voting in their droves for it after she did so well with Is It True :( .

09 - It's a little too guitar orientated for me to like it a lot. I'm sure it'll enter my chart once I get hold of an mp3, but it will probably break her chain of number one hits :( . Hopefully there's a dance mix coming out soon :lol:

10 - Congrats! A very deserved winner ^_^ . Do you know what you're going to enter into the next contest? I haven't a clue what to send! :drama:

12 - :lol:, it is a pretty perfect piece of Swedish pop! It's got the exact same melody as another song though and I can't think what it is. Either that or it's just so incredibly catchy!

20 - I like the music and it is very catchy, but vocally it's a nightmare. It's currently my second favourite of the selected entries (which is saying something) . If the trend continues then Norway are going to have another landslide victory!

30 - Yeah it is, and it's quite good. I'll send you an mp3 in a minute.

39 - This is true, but I think I prefer it to Pjanoo which became very tiring very quickly.

44 - It's pretty good, very similar to Elin Lanto's songs. I'm not surprised it failed to get out of the heats though.

58 - I know, I'm really late with this one, but I never found a HQ mp3 of it and I found the promo CD of it in London, so it's finally charting this week. Quite an appropriate week for it to be finally charting also :lol:

I'd say that it's pretty certain to win then! I like all six but What Happened To Me, Mama Told Me and Maybe would all find themselves comfortably bottom 5 at ESC, whereas TBAS is different enough to stand out and maybe come top five/ten, and the other two are strong enough to finish low top ten/mid-table.

 

6. Same here...Nott really could have been their first winner imo, or at least a surefire top ten! Icelandics are strange :lol:

30. Thanks for that, I really liked it on first listen! The original was a bit OTT for me to say the least...but I've always appreciated that it's a strong melody.

At Camden Barfly, it was absolutely awesome. They played all my favourites, as well as some new songs and a cover of Land Of Confusion (which Alcazar's This Is The World We Live In sampled) :wub: . They were really entertaining personality wise also.

1. Obviously not :( Doesn't really bode well for this new Steps reuinion. Then again, the album was incredibly hard to get hold of - it wasn't in any supermarkets or even in most HMV's - only the really big branches, and then only 1 copy :(

5. Agreed there, definitely think they'd finish last too. Taken By A Stranger is massively risky, but hopefully it would pay off but I wouldn't be surprised to see it at either end of the scoreboard.

05 - I think it could do well, I put it on a compilation CD in work yesterday and I noticed a couple of customers tapping their feet to it. It reminds me a lot of The Lovecats mixed with Tainted Love.

06 - Quite! This song is currently in my Eurovision 2011 top 5, but I doubt it'll remain there long. Or at least I hope not! :drama:

I think you're more lucky when going to the ones in cities as they have more magazines/radio stations that get lots of promo material which they then get rid of. The best promo I found in Carmarthen was one of Robyn's Be Mine which had been sent to Radio Carmarthenshire :lol:

06 - :lol:, even if they are terrible, I'll still buy that compilation to keep the collection going, but it'll probably end up gathering dust like the 2000 compilation does :kink:

12 - It's the bit before the chorus that's almost identical to a section of Flashdance, although the melody of the verses does remind me of a Steps or Abba song also.

39 - 2004 was a great year for rock music, but for very little else.

58 - It's not too far over, it's about 10 minutes walk from Oxford Street. I've noticed there's one in Crouch End which I've not been too so I'll investigate that one next time I visit. I reckon they probably do sell some stuff on ebay. I never find any promos of huge number one singles there, like Jessie J or Rihanna for example, so maybe those ones end up on ebay, or maybe they just get snapped up really quickly :lol: . The most well known promos I've found are Commander and Release Me.

06 - :lol:, even if they are terrible, I'll still buy that compilation to keep the collection going, but it'll probably end up gathering dust like the 2000 compilation does :kink:

12 - It's the bit before the chorus that's almost identical to a section of Flashdance, although the melody of the verses does remind me of a Steps or Abba song also.

39 - 2004 was a great year for rock music, but for very little else.

58 - It's not too far over, it's about 10 minutes walk from Oxford Street. I've noticed there's one in Crouch End which I've not been too so I'll investigate that one next time I visit. I reckon they probably do sell some stuff on ebay. I never find any promos of huge number one singles there, like Jessie J or Rihanna for example, so maybe those ones end up on ebay, or maybe they just get snapped up really quickly :lol: . The most well known promos I've found are Commander and Release Me.

 

6. Oh dear! That's one I'm missing actually, I was hoping that I'd stumble across it in a charity shop - I noticed the 2001-2005 compilations all in one the other day :o But I'm certainly not paying more than £5 or so for it, seeing as I've downloaded the 3 songs I like :heehee:

39. See I look back at my 2004 EOY chart and it's very strong but the UK charts were certainly crap. Then I realised it's because it's the only year that BOTH Delta and The Corrs released new studio albums, so I was in full on loon mode that year, mainly only for those two acts though :lol:

06 - It's certainly one of the more rarer Eurovision compilations, I think it was the first official annual Eurovision compilation released in the UK actually. I know there was one in 1999 but it was only released in a few countries and had some tracks, including Precious, missing from it.

39 - :lol: . It was all about Nightwish, Within Temptation, HIM, Lacuna Coil & The Rasmus for me in 2004. The highest non-rock song in my EOY chart that year was Ruslana at number 7 :o

6. Yep I'd heard that the 1999 compilation had some tracks missing, which seems a bit pointless. I didn't realise the 2000 one had a UK release. I still remember buying the 2001 compilation in WH Smiths in Swansea about a week after the contest! :lol: We were on a family holiday in Porthcawl and must have been visiting for the day.

39. Wow :o My EOY #1 that year was actually World On Fire by Sarah McLachlan! Shapeshifters' Lola's Theme was #2 and then an array of Corrs and Delta songs followed :lol: The highest Eurovision song was Julie & Ludwig at #12 I believe, with Ruslana a couple of spots behind.
