I actually don't mind.

I'd like Lady Gaga to be #1, because Price Tag has been there, for like an eternity. But it would be interesting to see Jessie J and B.o.B. back at #1 AGAIN, just for the uproar!

I really like them both equally but voted Lady GaGa as Jessie J has had two weeks at the top.
If it's true that ALL the performances from the Brit awards are released tonight, and Jessie performs 'Price Tag', her sales could be even more. But we could, potentially see a new number 1 (at least on iTunes) in Adele 'Someone Like You' (Live from the Brits) :o

:o Now wouldn't that be something to behold  . Although she'll steal the show with that song, I think it will have a bigger impact on her album sales than her single song sales.

Err... she's *been* #1, for the last 2 weeks... ;)

Also, I haven't yet bought Lady G's song, but if it looks like JJ is getting close, then I will...

I bought it because I really like it, not to keep something I don't like off no.1

I do not care which. But i am so glad this is about who will be number 1. I thought this was gonna be about them as an artist because i was gonna off on one about how you cannot compare. :)
Jessie J. Gaga's new song is an awful rip off of a Madonna classic.

Jessie J's song is a rip-off of a Black Eyed Peas classic. :kink:

Seriously though, I don't mind too much. I prefer Price Tag as a song, but it's already been #1, so...

To me it just resembles it, whereas I can literally sing 'Express Yourself' over the top of 'Born this Way'.

I can sort of see similarities between 'Express Yourself' & 'Born This Way' (although not nearly as much as some people make out), but which Black Eyed Peas track is 'Price Tag' meant to sound like?

WELCOME TO BUZZ JACK IM JAMASHA :D

Lady Gag deserves it this week. Jessie J as much as i love her has been at number 1.

Well, there is pretty much only one BEP song that's a classic. Where is the Love?

I don't understand that at all, don't see the similarities

Welcome to buzzjack ^_^

edit: Maybe a bit soon to be calling it a classic already, but 'I Gotta Feeling' will surely be a classic as well, in the future

Loads of people think they're similar:

I decided to do a cover of Jessie J's "Price Tag." I substituted B.o.B's part with the chorus from the Black Eyed Peas "Where Is the Love?" because I didn't feel like rapping, and I think both songs have a similar message and sound. :]

it's like Natasha bedingfield - meets where is the love by BEP

The song sounds so much like BEP ‘Where is the Love”

This feels to me like Lily Allen meets The Black Eyed Peas. And not just because it bares more than a passing resemblance to Where Is The Love.

I’m even going as far as saying it’s the new ‘Where Is The Love?’ for me.

It doesn't sound like a rip-off to me, but it sounds similar, and a lot of people seem to comment on it when they review the song. The important thing is that they're both great songs. :)

Price Tag knocking Lady Gaga off #1 on iTunes in the UK might actually get the song a tiny bit of extra attention over in the US, considering Gaga has a lot of fans there, and considering we've discussed Haba Haba a few times here.

I'm all for Jessie J climbing back to no. 1 on iTunes purely because it'll be the first time in ages where we've had a genuine #1 single that gets to the top and stays there (in the case of 'Price Tag' increasing its sales) <--- not counting 'When We Collide' by Matt Cardle.

Then again, 'Born This Way' could go 03-02-01 as the video is released next week which is bound to boost sales of the single. Three weeks at no. 1 for 'Price Tag' would be reasonable without outstaying its welcome (unless of course you're musically impatient, get bored of songs within minutes of hearing it for the first time and prefer to see a new no. 1 on iTunes every 10 minutes!!! -_- ).

They are both nails in the coffin of ''commercial music'' - utter crap 'songs', I could make better by hurling kittens into the North Sea and strapping a tape recorder to their paws tbf.
