Oh dear lawd, this is just to exciting news. I remember Xenomania deleting their tweets after the fans went crazy on twitter announcing new material sessions
Amelia COULD have heard leftover tracks though? But I'm pretty sure "You Bring Me Joy" was written for Girls Aloud. I can imagine Nadine Coyle singing the middle 8. And the "I've been thinking bout..."

I could imagine 'You Bring Me Joy' being a Girls Aloud album track, not a single for them but its great for Amelia.

Anyways, please let there be some sort of official announcement/new single by like September time!

Girls Aloud have reportedly been lined up to play this year's Royal Variety Performance.

Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts have apparently agreed to reunite for the gig in November, the month of their tenth anniversary.

A Girls Aloud source told the Daily Star Sunday: "Being asked to perform at the Royal Variety Show is massive for the band.

"They performed in 2004 when they were at the height of their fame so it's fitting that they would return eight years later. It's the Variety Show's 100th anniversary and the lineup will be full of A-listers.

"It will be one of the Queen's final engagements of a year which will have seen her Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. So it's a major scoop for the girls' comeback to be added to the bill."

The band's performance will be shown in an ITV documentary - 10 Years Of Girls Aloud - to be broadcast after the X Factor final in December.

The insider added: "The weeks leading up to the big night will be captured in the documentary, which was given the green light by producers last month.

"The programme will also look at the group's rise to fame, their domination of the charts and their solo careers. It will also have new interviews with all five members."

The Royal Variety Performance, which will see Queen Elizabeth II in the audience to cap her Diamond Jubilee year, will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on November 19.

Cheryl Cole teased in May that an announcement regarding Girls Aloud's anniversary plans would happen "very soon", but nothing was forthcoming at the time.

2004 was their height of fame?

Still, sounds good and the documentary sounds interesting too.

It's The Star so I doubt that's at all true. It looks like people are just attaching them to ANY event now, very much like they do with the Spice Girls.
2004 was their height of fame?

I'd say that late 2006 to early 2009 was the height of their fame, although that it quite a big period! :P If I had to narrow it down, I'd say the Out of Control era. But certainly not 2004!

I would LOVE all of this stuff to be true, but I'm just going to believe nothing until its officially confirmed, these last few months are killing me now though!

Definitely. I think they were consistent before but OCC was their fame 'height', they achieved a lot during that era.

I hope we confirmation soon... I need them back!

2004 was the beginning of their height of fame, I'd say.

Yeah, a bigger and successful second era after people thinking they would have a couple of hits and then disappear.

I think they will definetely premiere the new single on the Royal Variety Performance.Cant imagine would just do a medley I mean they will do a medley as well, But just doing that would be pointless.
  • 1 month later...
Can't wait, I think we're in need of an official announcement soon!
  • 3 weeks later...

It's been three years (18th/19th September 2009) since their last group commitment - supporting Coldplay at Wembley.

If I'd known back then that they'd be gone for three years... :drama: At the time, they said it was only going to be about a year.

AS IF! Can't believe its been that long, it seems like a long time but not quite that long!
