That song has had loads of votes in previous rounds though. In fact, in one round it had like four votes and was only a few away from the song in the lead. Much to my dismay as I absolutely ADORE it. But it won't win on this site, so don't worry if you're trying to draw attention to the fact it has 0 votes because you don't like it, lol.

It's actually the closest thing left in the poll to *my favourite genre*. Which is kind of depressing in a way, since it's not really very close to it, and there's still 20 songs left on the list... :(

 

But that said, it's not all bad, I do like (most) pop music too! :lol: And I like America, Monster, She Moves in Her Own Way and Welcome to the Black Parade.

 

It's just Patience that needs to go next imo!!

I would have thought you'd be used to hip hop going out early in these kind of things. Especially when it doesn't have the female-sung hook.

 

I'm quite surprised how far most of the "landfill indie" has made it though. But it looks like most of them will go in the next few rounds, except perhaps Orson, which is funny because they're easily the worst of them all IMO. Dire.

Yeah, I think Orson is one of the worst of this bunch too (although I wouldn't say "dire", I can listen to it if I have to :)).

 

Some hip hop songs have done well in previous years. Meet Me Halfway and The Way I Are both came 5th. Although in both those songs, as you said, they're dominated by females (Fergie and Keri Hilson) and they've both got strong elements of pop music in them, making them more widely appealing (hence why both were so successful in the first place, I guess!).

I love how 'rock' and 'landfill indie' are seemingly interchangeable terms when people are talking about the music of 2006 :lol: "Welcome to the Black Parade" is about as far from the latter as you can get, I do hope it scrapes into the top 10 :wub:
