February 24, 201213 yr Ignorant for not knowing that 'Try Me Out' is not a Scherzinger song, perhaps... Of Course, I meant "Try With Me"
February 24, 201213 yr I think Nicole needs to establish herself more as a solo artist rather than doing a greatest hits including work from PCD era. A new album of fresh material should be her priority for the next project.

The problem with a lot of music fans is that they expect Greatest Hits from their favourite singers after 2 or 3 albums. I'm not quite sure who kicked off that trend, but it's ridiculous. I honestly believe Nicole has the talent, looks and songs to be a massive star but something is just not connecting. She needs to come back with an album packed full of songs in the vein of the best from this album (Poison, Don't Hold Your Breath, Killer Love, Wet) and try to build on the bit of success she got this time around.
February 24, 201213 yr She'll never be a huge global star for a number of reasons: age is not on her side to be making inroads in major markets like America now; her quality control is absolutely awful which means there's a mind-bogglingly awful/bland song for every good one and half of them end up as (buzz) singles; as a personality she often comes off as insincere; she has the stigma of being involved in Pussycat Dolls who towards the end had become the butt of many a joke; as a performer although good she has a kind of budget Jennifer Lopez aura and often gives off a vibe of pure desperation... I could go on! ps. I like her! Just pointing out why she'll never be massive.

I agree with most of your comments. The first three singles seemed to do well but the album has just struggled to sell. Most acts who have three reasonable selling singles like that tend to sell a lot more than 150k of their album so not sure what went wrong with the album.

I've never been a fan partly because it was obvious since "Don't Cha" that she was being groomed for solo success, coupled with the way that she seemed to test the water with solo stuff and once it didn't go well she retreated back into the PCD brand for another hit. An air of desperation does abound with her which virtually ensures she'll never be massive (there's something off putting about this air in a 30 something which isn't the same in a 17/18 yr old when it seems more acceptable/ they'll grow out of it- but hey that's the pop world for you) :(
February 25, 201213 yr She obviously has a decent fanbase in the UK, Her singles have actually all sold fantastically, I mean Wet with limited Airplay and a poor peak still sold over 120,000. Right There & Don't Hold Your Breath sold way over 300,000 with DHYB selling over 400,000 quite easily! Edited February 25, 201213 yr by lee wallace

Right There & Don't Hold Your Breath sold way over 300,000 with DHYB selling over 400,000 quite easily! Oh I'm sure she does have people that like her music but that wasn't the point I was making. Those sales are not bad but we must remember we are currently in a period when all singles sales are high, it is very comparable to the late 90s now and those sales were about the same as say Billie was putting in through that period. She was popular yes but not massive, to be one of the biggest acts around she'd have to be shifting about double that.
February 26, 201213 yr I'd say the mediocre album sales considering how she's had 3 big hit singles make her more of a 'Taio Cruz' figure with hardly any fanbase at all. The singles just sell well seperately because they appeal to the public as songs, but for whatever reason Wet didn't connect in the same way. It did OK though admittedly.

I agree that people seem to just enjoy the songs but she doesn't seem to have much of a fanbase. I disagree that 'Wet' didn't appeal the same way though, I think it did appeal, it just didn't appeal to the radio DJ's the same with lack of airplay, Radio 1 snubbing etc. I think it did well selling that much actually, considering. February 26, 201213 yr That doesn't prove that she as a decent fanbase - if anything, it proves that she has none... I disagree...I think she does have a reasonable fanbase to sell the amounts she has sold and this is for 3 singles remember, not just 1. However, she doesnt appear to be connecting with the wider general public, hence the low album sales.
October 9, 20168 yr She sang Pretty on US X-Factor last night, it sounds pretty good although the performance was pretty bad, you could barely hear her... The performance was abysmal, she seems capable of only singing in BANSHEE register live these days. I agree that the song sounds very promising though, the chorus (from what I could hear) sounds VERY good. Anyone know when we get to hear 'Pretty' studio verison? I swear this was meant to come out today but no sign. Maybe it hasn't been mastered yet? She said she only recorded it a few days before the X Factor performance. Her career is such a mess. She should bring out the studio verison of 'Pretty' I think the album is on around 150,000+ Which is quite a dissapointment regarding her fantastic promotion. I have no idea why the Pretty studio version wasn't released, she should have at least performed Don't Hold Your Breath on xFactor then. How are the tour sales doing? Have the sold out? Five years on... the studio version of 'Pretty' is here! :o :cheer: Listen here! Even in 2016, this still sounds fantastic. With a little revamp she could still easily release this today!
October 11, 20168 yr Was always so intrigued by this after the XF performance, glad we've finally got it.
