How much of your household waste do you recycle? The odd bottle or newspaper? Or are you a closet environmentalist who makes weekly visits to the local recycling centre, sorts everything out into the correct bins. Do you view it as someone's problem or see it as all our problem.

With UK waste now reaching 100 million tonnes per annum, and councils targeted with about 20% recycling targets, will we run out of room on this island by just landfilling. Should we/could we do more than we currently do.

Some areas of the Country manage over 20% recycling but others only about 5%. Germany for instance recycles over 50% of household waste.

I recyle a lot but I'm sure I can probably do more.

the bulkiest, easiest stuff is all recycled by putting it in the appropriate bin. papers, tins, bottles, plastic, garden waste..
We have a bin we use it fairly often too I can't be arsed but my mum tries to put recyclable stuff in it!

Germany is amazing, EVERY public receptacle has recycling options and Germans actually stop and sort through their waste to ensure each item goes into the correct bin.

Then there is England which HAS NO PUBLIC RECEPTACLES. :P :D

I do it because they pick up the recycling here but if they didn't I think I'd probably be too lazy.

We have orange bags to put paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, food and drink tins and cans, detergent bottles etc and fill 2 a week. Our bin is only half full now every week and was overflowing before so we think it's good.
