Well, I'm not the one who thinks SOS is better than Unfaithful. But yeah, you're right. Disturbia and Only Girl pretty much wholly outclass SOS.

SOS definitely won't win. Marks my words on this. I'm 100% sure. Literally. I agree that Maneater would be a great winner. Who Knew is really boring.

And I also think it's criminal that Monster is leading. There's some awful songs still left in. *coughtakethatpatiencecough* And Chasing Cars is dreadful too.

:P I just always hated Unfaithful. Her vocal on it was always painful to my ears. The only time I've listened to it since the time it was out was when she performed it on the X Factor with Matt Cardle for that very reason!! Although she did sound much better singing it there, but still, I'll never listen to the radio version again! Those times being tortured with it in summer 2006 were perfectly enough for me. If it comes on the radio it's a race against time to mute the radio/change the station/turn it off before the vocal starts - otherwise it's like "noooo!!!" *dies*... Ok, I'm being very overdramatic here now :D

On SOS, she just sounds completely bored, which is a slight improvement. But really, neither would get anymore than like a 4/10 from me.

Yeah, I heard Unfaithful everywhere in summer 2006 too! Except I was in the Carribean on holiday, and it was on the radio all the time, literally. Much more even than in the UK! :o Although that's probably why I really like Unfaithful so much, because it reminds me of that holiday. Similar with Hips Don't Lie. I did wonder at the time though, "Do they have nothing else to play?"

Unfaithful is Rihanna's only decent ballad. Take A Bow and Russian Roulette are both god-awful. Unfaithful isn't brilliant but is at least listenable. Rihanna can't do ballads.

Russian Roulette is amazing. Such a risky comeback single too! At least it did well here, even if it typically flopped in America by Rihanna's standards

Take A Bow is lovely. It's all about the delivery. Totally makes the track that would be crap otherwise - "Puh-lease! Just cut it out" :D

Those are 2 of my fave Rihanna singles!! Along with Disturbia, What's My Name? and Hard completing the top 5. Add Umbrella and that's all her great singles.

Take a Bow and Russian Roulette were enough to send me into a coma, but I loved Unfaithful :o probably my favourite alongside Umbrella and Pon De Replay, the rest were either bad or got boring due to overplay :(

Pon De Replay?! You've got to be kidding  Apart from a decent-ish beat it pretty much defines yawnfest. Still, at least it was a little different to some of the other tired R&B being pushed out at that time. Doesn't make it good though, and it really sounds laughable now thinking that was the first single of a megastar! Certainly no Baby One More Time or Vision of Love in terms of iconic debuts.
Both Take a Bow and Russian Roulette are so dull! Unfaithfull was rather ok!

it was trash, but it was really catchy :D I dunno, I guess again, it didn't get overplayed

I know its not thought of as her best, but I still like it

I hated Russian Roulette. I absolutely love 90% of what Rihanna puts out, but Russian Roulette was extremely depressing for me. Plus it didn't help that I thought it was a suicide song the first few times I listened to it. :o

Russian Roulette, Te Amo and Don't Stop the Music (ft. Michael Jackson) are the only Rihanna songs I really, really don't like. I'm also not very fond of Rockstar 101. In terms of her other slower songs, I love both Take a Bow and Unfaithful. My favourite Rihanna song of all is obviously Live Your Life.

I wasn't including featured appearances, otherwise you can add Run This Town and All of the Lights (which would probably be #1 in that case ) to my list of great Rihanna singles. Live Your Life is good but not great. If I Never See Your Face Again and Who's That Chick? are toe-curlingly bad.
I love Who's That Chick?! :D I love pretty much all the Rihanna hip hop songs, although I'm finding Fly (from Nicki Minaj's album) a bit meh at the moment, but I've only listened to it a few times.

I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - it's lack of capitals has been annoying me for some time.

^_^

The voting for this has been truly ridiculous. So many great songs already gone or now on the verge of going (Rogue Traders, The Automatic) while $h!t like Orson, Shakira, Snow Patrol and Rihanna remains! Seriously, I think some people have been taking stupid pills before they vote each round year. Rihanna FTW!1!11 With a song she's already improved the formula of like ten times since! What would that say, honestly?

I think P!nk or Nelly Furtado are the only ones who can stop this calamity from happening, tbh :( Of those, I'd prefer Nelly. P!nk is rubbish.

I'll keep taking the stupid pills then if it prevents me from voting out one of my top three favourite songs of all time, and easily my favourite song of 2006!

I agree with you on Rogue Traders though, it was a bresh of fresh air in the UK top three (and my third favourite song of 2006!). I can't agree about The Automatic though, up there as one of my most irritating songs of all time.

Not Voodoo child!

And back to the rihanna debate - Russian Roulette >>> Unfaithful >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Take A Bow

:D Sorry! I've never been interested in that kind of stuff from Shakira (Whenever Wherever aside). I prefer her music that isn't so Latin-influenced.

Monster is a great piece of mindless fun! We need more records like it tbh. Better that than stale tired pop any day of the week.
