Exactly this! I can't believe over 800,000 copies of 'Overcome' have been sold yet 'Heartbreak On Hold' has struggled to pass 10,000! And it's not like 'Elephant' did too badly as it still reached #3 and sold over 100k. I'm just baffled how over the space of 3 months that everyone seems to have deserted her!

What about me!! I WILL NEVER DESERT ALEX!!!! SHE IS AMAZING!!

 Neither will I! Maybe I should have said nearly everyone!

I really don't get it either. HOH is a weak album compared to Overcome but it's still alright, certainly not bad enough to stall at 10k! Quite how she's got SO many followers who seem to be stanning for her and yet she struggles to sell 10k in two weeks! Overcome would've sold that in one day easily, I have no idea how she's managed to lose so much interest, radio can't be entirely to blame because the fanbase was clearly there even for Elephant, and yet sometime between then and now they fell off somewhere and it's led to the most embarrasing flop I can think of for an artist this big.
People desert sinking ships, Alex is bandied around the forums as being a flop and rather than carry on being a fan, the majority of her "fair weather fans" have deserted her, Shame On You! Alex is an amazing singer and a lovely girl, I hope better things come her way as she doesn't deserve the treatment she's had to put up with.

Exactly, even though I think HOH is on par with Overcome at least, and I possibly prefer it :kink:! And nothing has happened between Elephant and Let It Go that has lost nearly all of her entire fanbase. In hindsight, Alex would have probably done a bit better with HOH if she released it straight after Elephant, but of course she had no way of knowing that 'Let It Go' would underperform so much!

The only way to get this era back on track would to be to promote a single on the X Factor (I think she is still partly with Syco isn't she?), preferably Between The Sheets. But that would mean a 4 and a half month gap between 'Let It Go' and the first X Factor live show. But if she released another single with big promo like the X Factor, I don't see how it will go top 40. :(

#74 this week.

Oh dear god

Even worse than I expected which is saying something...

Well you can either laugh and cry, I choose laugh

Poor Alex though.

I choose laugh too, it is totally embarrasing at the end of the day even if she's an artist I love!

At least it's two weeks in the Top 75!

So bad. Awaiting the slash in price now.

Poor alexandra, What would the sales be for #74? Low i expect! She would of probably sold 8k/9k in first TWO weeks what the hell happened to her fanbase? :|

I suspect the majority of her fanbase was actually always senior citizens and they've mostly died off during the long break between Overcome and Heartbreak On Hold. It seems the most logical explanation to me.

Tragic...but hilarious, no matter the single choice I think this was going to flop but Tonight over Let It Go could have eased the pain a little at least.

Thats a horrible thing to say. :(

i'd estimate her to be on about 8,400 after 2 wks!

Scary to think on a week that Cheryl Cole ships 152k of her single, Alex shifted about 2k of her album. Who said life was fair eh? But like you said on another thread. Selling records was never about talent.

She probably sold 8,400 of Overcome in around an hour after it was first released so to see her struggling to make 10k in two weeks is not nice at all. Although im not a fan of her as such, she has a great voice and is the best artist IMO to come out from the XF

Tbf where was her promo? Had I not visited forums etc I wouldn't have known.

It's all well the 500k follow rs but if you aren't on tv or radio, it's difficult for a popstar to sell.
