Posted March 13, 201114 yr According to the News of the Screws anyway :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Robster takes off He's set for solo deal By Dan Wootton, Showbiz Editor March 13, 2011 ROBBIE WILLIAMS is going solo again less than EIGHT MONTHS after rejoining Take That. He is in talks about signing his own deal with the group's record company Universal, we can reveal. Last night a music industry source revealed: "Robbie's been very committed to this Take That project and can't wait to tour with the guys, but he never said he wouldn't record his own music again. "It's important for him to have his own solo deal because he is one of the most successful British recording artists." March 13, 201114 yr Author Hopefully Universal will promote his records better than EMI. Although they did recently manage to release KIDZ without a bloomin video so who knows....
March 13, 201114 yr Hopefully Universal will promote his records better than EMI. Although they did recently manage to release KIDZ without a bloomin video so who knows.... Do you think Rob still has his heart set on making a break in America? If so - I think Universal will make a better stab at promoting him than EMI did. I think EMI felt after they'd spend all that money - they could sit back and maybe let Rob do all the work. Universal have done brilliantly for Take That (and it was Jason who selected which label they'd go with - Polydor - which I believe is under the umbrella of Universal). Apart from the duff promotion for Kidz (which is as much a fault of Take That as the label) they've not let Take That down one tiny bit. Kath

March 15, 201114 yr It is one of the few rumors I REALLY love. Solo, solo, solo! And Universal is obviously the best choice for Robbie...
March 15, 201114 yr It is one of the few rumors I REALLY love. Solo, solo, solo! And Universal is obviously the best choice for Robbie... I think the deal with Universal was probably part of the deal for returning to Take That. Everyone's much richer for the reunion but I think both sets of fans (apart from the first time around girlie fans) will be happy when Rob's solo and Take That are back as they should be - a foursome.
March 15, 201114 yr Author I very much doubt he's interested in putting in the work needed to 'break' America. Maybe he should put on a dowdy dress and a wig and hit You Tube a la Susan Boyle?

She's done what neither Rob nor Take That could do! Kath
