The sales gaps are going to be the most important thing - I will be very surprised if Nicole can hold on throughout the whole week - there seems to be too much against her and in favor of Adele and the Wanted - plus her previous performance with Poison does seem to indicate a strong decline in sales mid-late week

Ok.. she has a bigger lead now than what she ever had with poison! Poison was also number 2 at this moment in time.

The Wanted are down to 3 on Itunes, i expect Nicole's lead to increase tommorow and to be number 1 come sunday with it being close between her and adele with wanted only 3-4k behind.

I agree.. I think this song appeals to a wider market than Poison ever did.. just because her few first single declines midweek doesn't mean they all will..

The Wanted have the official comic relief charity track, their sales will increase on Friday when the show goes out

I know Wanted's sales will increase on Friday but if Nicole remains at number one even until friday, she should have a bigger sales gap that the Wanted will not catch up with!

People are seriously overestimating the effect Comic Relief will have on the chart - it's on Friday night so that will only really effect Saturday's sales. WMight push Adele to the top of the chart if it's close between her and Nicole but can't see it doing much for The Wanted who are already falling down the itunes chart!

After doubting Nicole at the beggining of the week.. I now think she will be able to chart at #1 this week as long as her lead on iTunes doesn't decrease too much

You are not really understanding the concept, Nicole is only out on downloads, The Wanted has Downloads + PHYSICALS all week, not just Friday, they will bite into Nicole's lead.

Friday will be too late for TW's CR effect to have any impact IMO, as they'll drop faster than Nicole prior to that so Nicole's lead in the Friday mids will be MUCH bigger than it is today, making it insurmountable for TW to catch.

The concern for Nicole taking the #1 spot will be Adele - she's on a stabilised sales pattern as SLY's been selling at that level for 4/5 weeks and will therefore have a sales multiple of e.g. x3 from Tuesday mids ->Sunday chart ; whereas Nicole will have a lower multiple e.g. x2.5.

In fact, Adele's sales multiple will probably exceed e.g. x3 as it will have the CR effect on Friday which will maybe boost the x3 up to x3.25 or thereabouts (dependant upon the magnitude of the boost).

I just noticed when in HMV that Parade have two CD singles, each of them with a few tracks/mixes and a video and both at £1.49, so they could do quite well physically. There was a note in the sleeve about the 'Enhanced CD' working on Windows 95/98/Xp etc..., I felt like I'd returned to the early 00's!

Lady Gaga, George Michael, Jessie J and The Wanted's physicals were all in a prominent place too so it could be the biggest week for physical sales for quite some time ;o

Yeh but Martin, surely most Wanted fans would have either pre-ordered the song or rushed out to buy it yesterday! If it can't be number 1 in the first midweeks with the addition of physicals then I can't see it at number 1!

I know it's a charity song, but I can't really see them having massive physical sales

I agree with that, and that is why it is already dropping on iTunes.

The physicals side of things will see an even more marked drop; therefore if they aren't #1 today, then their sales differential to Nicole will only increase as the week goes on.

Does anyone know when was the last time we had an album debut and stay at number 1 for 8 consecutive weeks?

Hope this stays true Nicole has put in so much promotion it would be a shame if she missed out on No 1.Plus The Comic Relief single sucks it is by far the worst ever and I could have written better.I think Adele may still challenge for the No 1 though.
