March 16, 201114 yr GOOOO Eminem & The BEPs! Around 30% of Eminem's views are from Not Afraid & Love The Way You Lie, 20% from Love The Way You Lie. Edited March 16, 201114 yr by Word Life
March 16, 201114 yr GOOOO Eminem & The BEPs! Around 30% of Eminem's views are from Not Afraid & Love The Way You Lie, 20% from Love The Way You Lie. I'm surprised it's that low. I genuinely saw a Facebook group called 'like if you knew about Eminem before Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie'
March 16, 201114 yr I'm surprised it's that low. I genuinely saw a Facebook group called 'like if you knew about Eminem before Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie' I hate it when people say things like that though. It's so ridiculously stupid, seriously. It's like someone starting a group saying "Like if you knew about Lady Gaga before Born This Way". You have to be living under a rock not to know her. Basically some people see an artist get a surge of popularity, and then assume that everybody else on the planet has only just discovered the artist, and that they were the only person that knew about the artist before. I can't fathom how anybody could've not known him before Not Afraid. I know that there's like 10 year-old kids who might've become fans of his after his latest album, but that's a bit different. They're too young to have remembered his previous hits, and there's nothing they can do about that. It's not their fault they were in the womb when he hit the mainstream. He was the biggest-selling artist of the past decade! I mean, how much more popular did he need to be for some people to realize he had fans before Not Afraid. If anything, it's those people that are saying those things that are out of the loop. Eminem was more popular 10 years ago than he is now, I'd say, yet they seem to think everybody has just discovered him now. And the most stupid thing is, whenever anybody starts a group, or makes a comment like that on youtube or whatever, and then it gets more likes than the video has views, doesn't that kind of prove that EVERYBODY knew him before? Not just Eminem, but a lot of people do it with the Black Eyed Peas aswell. Both Eminem and the BEPs took quite a long period of time out of mainstream music (roughly at the same time aswell, so it wasn't my favourite period for music, let's say...), so it's almost as if people have a short-term memory, and forget how popular the artists were before they "took a break". Sorry for my rant, and it's not directed at you Bray. It's directed at those people that start those stupid groups, etc. It just pisses me off so much, because they're essentially refusing to acknowledge the popularity those artists had attained previously, and it makes me sad, because they were truly huge. :( Also, Rihanna needs to be higher. And I think Justin Bieber will have got a huge amount of views from people trying to hate on him. :( Although, on the positive side, the haters are just boosting him up the chart even more (although, at the same time, that just gets him more haters tbh).
March 16, 201114 yr Worth noting most videos in ShakiraVEVO and BritneySpearsVEVO are blocked in most of the world. Really? I mean, in Russia I can view both these channels, and usually we are under the 'most of the world' label.
March 17, 201114 yr Really? I mean, in Russia I can view both these channels, and usually we are under the 'most of the world' label. In Brazil, Mexico, UK, France and a bunch of other countries you can't. I mean, you can see the most recent ones (HIAM, Waka Waka, Sale El Sol) but that's it, you can't access the old videos. There's another chanel, BritneySpearsSME and ShakiraSME, for people in those countries to watch the videos (and I think those channels are blocked to those who can see it on VeVo). So no, Russia isn't on "most of the world" label, sorry. It's just one country out of a bunch, duh.
March 17, 201114 yr ^ I've been getting similar with Beyonce and Ke$ha aswell. I can't view the VEVO videos, but I can view the SME ones instead. I don't really get the point in them doing that though. :(

AFAIA it only counts as a view if you watch it all the way through... at least I hope so, otherwise I may have contributed like 100 views to Baby going to thumb it down :( Meh, it has far more thumbs down than up and is the most disliked YouTube video of all time so hey :kink: 553,100 likes. 1,088,746 dislikes  Edited March 17, 201114 yr by Bray
March 18, 201114 yr AFAIA it only counts as a view if you watch it all the way through... at least I hope so, otherwise I may have contributed like 100 views to Baby going to thumb it down :( Meh, it has far more thumbs down than up and is the most disliked YouTube video of all time so hey :kink: 553,100 likes. 1,088,746 dislikes  Oh Bray, isn't it childish? :( Anyway, I assume it will be still counted as 1 dislike, unless you have 100 accounts. :P And I think it counts as a view if you watch, for example, 50% of the video. Or it may be different: you download the video fully, and it counts as a views, no matter if you actually watch it or not. I won't say confidently about this though.
March 18, 201114 yr I think it counts as a view just when the page loads. So if you went to a video and kept refreshing, each of those would count as a view (although the view counter doesn't update live, it updates every few hours). About the thumbs up and thumbs down, I'm not sure if you can do it multiple times to videos. I've never really looked into it. But you can do it to comments though (see: Pocodot). March 19, 201114 yr Oh Bray, isn't it childish? :( Anyway, I assume it will be still counted as 1 dislike, unless you have 100 accounts. :P I was joking :P I've only thumbed it down once but I often go to the video to see what its dislike count is. You can thumb down a video more than once, I think you can do it once a day or something.
March 19, 201114 yr Also, do likes and dislikes disappear after a while? Because on some videos, you might see a comment with like 500 likes, and you go there a week later, it's got barely any, and it's not the sort of comment that hundreds of people would go an dislike. Same with videos. I've seen videos where I swear tens of thousands of people disliked them, and now there's way fewer dislikes.
