Luckily, I am a lot more confident about Nicole's chances, and I genuinely think that most people who like this song will have it already so the boost, whatever it may be, will not be enough to take it back to No 1. We shall see..

Yeah, we'll have to see. I hope you're right.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Someone Like You return to #1 next week, after Nicole. I just really want Nicole to get it this week. It's a better song (in my opinion), and 5 consecutive weeks of the same #1 is just too much, imo.

Heaven forbid she cries after a personal song she wrote about a person who was so pivotal in her life. She's incredibly talented, the song is fantastic and therefore deserves to be #1. It's not "manipulative" in the slightest.

I have a distinct urge to shout out "GET OVER IT" every time the water works start flowing after that song. Once or twice is fine, but I've seen it now on plenty of British/ American shows and it's beginning to feel a bit strained. I don't think she's doing it to sell records, but I would advise her to move on before the public at large start to tire of these melodramatics. I know I already am..

It's not exactly her fault if she gets emotional at a song which has high demand for performances...

Yeah, perhaps she needs to learn to be more in control of her emotions.

You're right, the public might start to think it's fake soon. I hope they don't though, but it's perhaps best that Adele starts to take action before the public turn against her for it.

Adele's pretty lucky though. If someone like Cheryl Cole cried during a live performance, pretty much everybody would think she's faking it, even though her tears would be just as real as Adele's. :(

Like when Chris Brown cried when was doing a Michael Jackson tribute. He got a lot of hate for that.

Not only is that incredibly thoughtless, but it's also very rude. You have no idea how much the break up affected her, and how much that song means for her. I personally feel like her crying really shows how truly connected she is to the song, and it makes me feel something when I'm watching the performance. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that the rest of the general public are going to tire of it.

That might be due to the fact that it was apparently fake.

It just feels a bit laid on, that's all. Anyway, I'm done with talking about this.. I don't want to come across as a bitter, hardened cynic (Maybe too late for that :D ) I just hope that Nicole doesn't lose out on Sunday because of one performance on a high profile TV show. Seems a trifle unfair to me..

The wanted are performing now

I hope they drop out of the Top 10 they are terrible live it is embarassing.

The wanted are performing now
Were they miming?

The one guy's mouth was just moving anyway i like the Tune to the song but the song is rubbish imo but will still do well Obviously

I think Adele's tears are real btw.

But why would Chris Brown's be fake, and Adele's real? Has Chris Brown said he faked the crying? Or did the media say that he was told to cry, and we all believe it?

And I used Cheryl Cole as an example of someone who the public would claim is faking tears if she cried during a performance, and then I just remembered that she cried during an interview when she was talking about her divorce, and her having malaria, and lots of people said that was fake.

So a similar question. Why would Cheryl's tears be fake, and Adele's real?

It seems to me if a person is liked by the general public at a given time, when they cry, it is genuine, and if they're hate figures at the time, when they cry, they're faking it.

The Wanted should get a bit of a boost now. I'm actually impressed they never fell to #4! :o I was expecting that to happen like back on Wednesday!

This is CERTAINLY going to be my last word on the subject. I have an opinion, and I don't think it's rude to express it. Now I think you're the one who might be taking this a bit too seriously. You're not Adele's minder, so no point in having a go at me for my view, you're not going to change it. Can we just agree to disagree and move on :)

I think Adele is not a fake person. She has every right to be emotional and I am sure she is still shocked at how well her comeback has gone and how supportive people have been.

Of course Cheryl would cry when she has to sing live too her ears must be in agony.

Tell her that she "needs to get over" something that's clearly quite difficult and emotional for her is quite rude. But yes, we can agree to disagree.

Are you open-minded enough to accept that one day Cheryl could possibly cry during a live performance (whether she's actually singing or not ), simply because she's emotional?

Or is Adele the only singer that can get emotional? The rest are all fakes!?

I may be laughing, but this is a serious question. If Cheryl got emotional during her performances, I think we'd be seeing a LOT more people saying about her what anxresi is saying about Adele.

Again, I think Adele's tears are genuine, but those defending Adele here, would you defend artists you don't like in the same situation?

Katie Waissel album FAIL!

Correction: Katie Waissel FAIL! :P

Ok, that's two joking comments. I shall stop now. :kink:

Katie Waissel album FAIL!

Any impact on The WANTED yet?

Really pleased about Katie Weasel she was just dreadful hope she sold two copies both brought by her gran. Not sure why simple Simon and Louis thought she was the second coming of Gaga and Madonna.

Eric Blob-I doubt Cheryl has enough emotional depth to cry with genuine tears.I love over the top emotional performances but those are usually reserved for singers who can actually sing and they give there all.I do not think it makes much difference if you do not like the singer I do not like Chris Brown but I am one of the few who thinks he was genuine crying for MJ who he had long admired. No one beats Mary J at the Grammys though I thought she would have a nervous breakdown on stage.

Ok i don't know where you get this information from but people did not think Cheryl was faking her tears. She nearly died and her husband was an utter tit to her infront of the whole nation and made a mockery of her. I would cry too.
