I reckon Lampard is almost certain to start tomorrow. Capello made a point against Wales by dropping him but I'll be very surprised if he doesn't return and hopefully rejuvenated.

It really is about time Walcott was played in the centre for Arsenal and England. Smalling is not a right back and Walcott is not a winger either. They talk about Walcott's goal drought for England? Well they know what to do. Problem is Rooney, Bent and Carroll are ahead of him. The Bulgaria wasn't the best example but Walcott is actually quite a good finisher.

Anyway I'd probably pick the same team myself but when Bent is fit I would consider putting Young on the right and then put Rooney where Young is right now. Its a shame Aaron Lennon isn't on good form very often, he just needs to learn to cross better and he'd be the 'proper' pacy right winger we'd need.

England team vs. Wales

Hart; Smalling, Cahill, Terry, Cole; Lampard, Barry; Milner, Young, Downing; Rooney

Subs: Stockdale, Jagielka, Lescott, Parker, Carroll, A Johnson, Defoe

This really. Walcott is not a winger. He's fast, but he's no winger. He's a one trick pony who is easily found out. Arsenal don't play him up front either.

These days as well, I don't think having two wingers in the team is what England need. If they're going to play 4-4-2, England need a proper winger, and then the player in the opposite flank needs to be less adventerous and more defensive.

Wales deserve a point.

England were very average. The defence was very sloppy, not maintaining a decent line. Lots of big gaping holes. The midfield was all over the place. Lampard was f***ing diabolical as per. And the forwards were very wasteful at times. Rooney in particular, probably not treating Wales with the respect they deserved. Very very average, and lucky to come away with all 3 points. Still a lot of work that needs to be done.

To say England were good for fifteen minutes is insanley kind!

The match was awful. Just awful. I really can't wait for Capello to step down, he is so FRUSTRATING.

If Stewart Pearce gets the England job it will be 10x worse.

The thing with tonight's match was it was a complete dead game. Whether we won drew or lost we would be going into the next game needing the same result, I don't know whether that had anything to do with it or not. Milner was poor but I agreed with the decision to play him as he'd neuter Bale more. Smalling is not a right back, I had hoped Lampard would come back into the side rejuvinated but he certainly didn't. But anyway, it's another win and 5 wins and 2 draws isn't really anything to complain about. Results wise we're ok and generally always are. I am looking forward to a new coach though.
We were rather poor but did the job, I'm just going to sit through the next eleven months with bare minimum expectations and then roll on the next manager.

And who would make us any better?

Speaking of Capello stepping down though I really can't wait for us to do a lot worse when the idiots gets their way and we get another INGLISHHHHH manager, not even Redknapp is good enough imo (he's got out the excuses out already this season) Hiddink would be my choice anyway just in case anyone is wondering.

Anyway I don't see how anyone would do anything different to what Capello is doing right now let alone anything better. Obviously the selection would be much different if certain people were available. Anyway we were poor but we still won (somehow) We're not the forth best team in the world and no matter who we pick and how 'bothered' the players are we'll STILL not be good enough to beat the likes of Spain and Brazil (unless we get a little luck which we never do) so I really don't see the point in moaning when we don't even need to do much just to get there now anyway!

Its still so lol that people forget who Fabio Capello is and what he's done anyway, considering Trapotonni looks like he may not be able to make much difference with Ireland it shows the reality of international football.

I think Redknapp is pretty much inevitable provided he's not behind bars. Hiddink would be good, I'd still love to see Mourinho give it a go.
Hiddink has experience of international football and would be a decent choice. Mourinho's moaning would probably be an embarrassment at times but his record as a manager is outstanding. However, unless he loses his battle against the taxman, I still think 'Arry is the favourite. The FA will want to satisfy the Scum and Daily Wail-reading xenophobes and appoint an English manager.

People say who would do a better job than Capello or what would be different, but you watch England under Fabio and there's just nothing at all to suggest he's actually had any influence over the players of that game. To be honest they could probably have done what they do most games without a coach.

And we are 4th for a good reason. The only team you can put a compelling case forwards for being ahead of us is Uruguay and we were only about a goal ahead of them anyway.

Hands off!!! And the same applies to Tottenham if 'Arry gets the job (or goes to jail).

I just knew you'd bite :D

I just knew you'd bite :D

I thought that might have been your plan :P

Realistically, there's no chance of Poyet getting the England job. However, keeping him may well be a struggle.

The main problem is everyone expects England to work together as a unit, when they're a bunch of individuals, and not a team at all. The reason Spain play so well as a team, is because most of their first XI is made up of players from Madrid and Barcelona.

Our squad at the moment is not that good. 2014/2016 we should have a much better squad. There's far too many weak spots at the moment. Centre-back espcially is such a problem issue at the moment for England.
