I see Erick Morillo is going to have a chronic case of everyone spelling his name wrong then :P

Whoops, didn't realise that! I just remember seeing it spelled as 'Eric' on the new release schedule!

Pre-orders update:

4. Our Version of Events - Emeli Sandé

26. Hot Right Now (feat. Rita Ora) - EP - DJ Fresh

35. One Thing - Single - One Direction

46. Making Mirrors - Gotye

149. Making Mirrors (Deluxe Edition) - Gotye

173. Ray Charles - EP - Chiddy Bang

177. Rockstar (feat. Brian May) - EP - Dappy

Emeli's album looks like it could be absolutely huge then, perhaps I should retract my statement that Lana will sell more than her this year :o Gotye's album is also out next week and from the looks of things could maybe grab a top 5 debut. I can't see him being any more than a one (very big) hit wonder though. JLS making a decent impression as ever (although it's a single so should be gone from the feed soon, then again that never happened to 'One Thing'...), I do hope 'Proud' can be a decent sized hit for them although it'll obviously be hugely frontloaded. 'Ray Charles' looks like it could be a pretty big hit, being ahead of Dappy who's releasing on the same week :o

I was kinda looking forward to Emeli getting a No.1 album, guess that won't be happening anymore :( (unless she gets a massive boost somewhere down the line, similar to Florence)

On the upside Album sales are likely to be great at the top end of the chart!

Is it alright if I post the digital albums chart in here every week? As it doesn't get coverage anywhere else but I don't feel like starting a new thread as this thread is pretty neglected as it is :P

Top 10 update:

3. Whitney - Greatest Hits - Whitney Houston

4. 21 - ADELE

5. Making Mirrors - Gotye

6. Lonely Are the Brave - Maverick Sabre

10. R&B SlowJamz - Various Artists

'21' was behind 'Making Mirrors' earlier, so either Gotye isn't selling very much outside of pre-orders at all or she's got quite a big Grammy effect. I'm inclined to think the latter as '19' is back up to #32 as well. It's odd to see Adele benefiting from the Grammys because AFAIA they rarely have any effect at all - but then again, she's Adele, things work differently for her

Pre-Orders Update:

62 - Madeon "Icarus - Single"

108 - Madonna "MDNA (Deluxe Edition)"

149 - JLS "Proud - Single"

173 - Dappy feat. Brian May "Rock Star - EP"

Madeon's "Icarus" is such an amazing dance instrumental, and I love how it's looking to be a hit in the charts  probably thanks to Avicii's "Levels". It's released in the same week as Dappy, I think Dappy has a big chance of #1 that week unfortunately - as it's much worse than No Regrets

Edited by Thermometer

OMG at Icarus :o PLEASE be a hit! It's been so long since we had a proper instrumental hit (since Chicane's Poppiholla way back in July 2009 - only one other instrumental has even gone top 40 since then (Ludovico Einaudi's 'I Giorni') and that required a campaign). Levels was almost an instrumental but let's be honest, if it didn't happen to have that vocal sample it wouldn't have been a hit, because the Flo Rida fiasco definitely helped it a LOT.

Is Chiddy Bang's 'Ray Charles' not top 200 any more? That's also out on the same week as 'Rockstar' and was ahead of it on pre-orders the other day. Maybe 3 new entries in the top 10 that week?

Ray Charles isn't top 200. On "hip-hop rap" pre-orders it is #18. Dappy's "Rock Star" is #14 on the same chart

Is there any sign of Alexandra Burke's Elephant in the pre-orders chart today? thanks :)
