March 29, 201114 yr I really dont get all the hate against enrique i mean for one his hot lol and he is very confident on stage and loves to talk to the auidence maybe touring with him will help make brit feel more comfortable and confident back on stage
March 29, 201114 yr Hope she comes to the UK at some point, I've never seen her before as I normally don't want to see artists that mime, but I think I would make an exception for this album, plus she may sing 1 track live
March 29, 201114 yr How does he have a lack of set. He has two huge singles 'I Like It' and 'Tonight I'm f***ing You'. Not to mention he can sing 'Hero' and maybe another past hit. New songs from his album? Doesn't make sense to me. He would only be singing like 6 songs anyway.
March 29, 201114 yr They incorrectly think they'll be sharing the stage like the Justified/Stripped tour Xtina & Justin did. It's not incorrect, he is definitely co-headlining the tour. He'll do a full show and then Britney will do a full show or vice versa. Billboard has confirmed that. Enrique is huge with the latin market in the US. He played to arenas in the there before he sang in English. He was on his second arena tour when Britney was playing to malls. Given his resurgance in the mainstream market and his own his own US dates of his tour being sold out wouldn't make sense for him to be a warm up act even for someone as big as Britney. He would only be singing like 6 songs anyway. More like 10-13. His English debut had two Hot 100 #1s. Bailamos and Be With You. Hero and Escape for a long time were his biggest hits in the mainstream US before his recent comeback hits you listed. Throw in some of his semi successful US songs like Do You Know and Rhythm Divine etc and maybe some of his spanish hits presumebly the ones that have crossedover to the pop charts and you've got a set. March 29, 201114 yr Author Hmmm, really interesting and I wonder if we'll find out soon as to why he really pulled out. Maybe he wasn't keen on the idea of still being seen as a warm-up act to Britney and would rather have his own individual tour?
March 29, 201114 yr Your right I forget how many hits he has had. But there is no denying at all the HUGE want for Britney over Enrique. I'm not saying Enrique would not be a good addition but Britney can easily sell out venues by herself (ESPECIALLY in the US, Canada and South America) Her fan base in South America is crazy, which is why I think it would have been a good match for North and South America. Oh I freely acknowledge she is a much bigger draw than he is. Particularly to a US audience. Just that it wouldn't have made sense for him to a warm up act. Makes you wonder why she would want to co-headline with anyone in the first place. I'd wager the touring markets decline in North America made her people nervous. With Circus there was a lot of good will towards her and people were eager to see her after her breakdown. Femme Fatal era hasn't had that same buzz and with the building sentiment after the last tour of "she didn't sing live, hardly danced and didn't look into it" etc they probably wanted an extra assurance she was going to fill those extra seats. Or maybe Britney just wanted to take it easy. Edited March 29, 201114 yr by klank
March 29, 201114 yr Author Even though Enrique Iglesias pulled out of Britney Spears' tour just hours after it was announced this morning, sources tell Billboard.biz that negotiations are under way that could result in a Spears/Iglesias taking place this summer, after all. While some of the sticking points may be related to money -- and whether Iglesias would receive a percentage of the "back end" or box office receipts in addition to a per-show guarantee -- much of the problem seems to stem from perception, a source said. Iglesias is a headlining artist and has been for some time, and would carry his own fully themed production on the tour. The language in the carefully-worded press release -- which was withdrawn from certain outlets shortly after it was sent today -- stated the pair would "tour together" but stopped short of calling it a "co-headlining" tour, the phrase commonly used for such superstar pairings as Billy Joel and Elton John, for example. The general perception is that it's a Britney Spears tour: She's the headliner, she would close the show, and the announcement was timed with her appearance on "Good Morning America" and the release of her new album "Femme Fatale," both of which took place today. And, according to sources, Spears' pay is several times what Iglesias would earn. At press time, representatives for both artists and the tour's promoter had not granted Billboard.biz's requests for comment. Billboard.biz will have more on this story as it develops.
March 29, 201114 yr Can we not forget Enrique's best song, 'Do You Know (Ping Pong Song)', please? Epic use of Ping Pong sounds! Oh and gutted it may turn out to not be true and they end up doing a joint headlining tour. Although I guess it's only fair play for them both. Enrique is pretty huge after all. (Not sure about how huge he's been in the US but in the UK I could definitely see a "co-headlining tour" happening.)
March 29, 201114 yr Author I think the whole point was that it was supposed to be a co-headlining tour the whole time... but Britney was getting more out of the whole thing.
