Congrats to Cremey on his win this week and everyone else who has taken part this week.

Rules:

1 Design one cover (Single or Album) per week, you have the option to change your cover as many times as you want as long it meets the closing deadline. And please edit your original cover.

 

2 The Cover Design should always be your own creation, and no one else's. All forms of cheating will result in removal from the Leaderboard.

 

3 New members are welcome to join anytime and any member of Buzzjack can vote not just the cover designers, in the voting thread once set up at the end of the week. You cannot vote for your own covers. And don't forget its a cover competition, you are voting for a cover not your favourite artist or for your favourite member.

 

4 A winner will be announced every four months and the Leaderboard will then be set back to zero.

 

5 The Cover Voting Thread will be posted after all covers are submitted, I will give an extension if needed at my own discretion. The voting thread will close on every Monday at 8pm (UK time), the winning cover will be revealed after the votes have been counted.

 

6 Any votes submitted after 8pm will not be counted, same goes for PM votes.

 

7 I will send one and only one reminder each Saturday evening/Sunday Morning to Cover Designers that have not submitted votes during the voting period.

 

8 If you are not playing any more, please let me know if you wish your name to be removed from the Leaderboard.

 

9 Please let me know your change of Display Name, sometimes its hard to keep track of who's who.

Does anyone have any tutorials for how to make any of these covers? I have a programme called paint.net, but really struggle to cope with all the colouring and adding of layers.

 

As for the covers we've seen thus far, they are all stunning. Particularly enjoying the Glasvegas cover; better than the real cover.

I use Corel Paint Shop X at the moment, it does the job efficient, I did use Adobe photoshop at one time, but I found it hard to get to grips with for a rookie. There is a tuitorial guide in the graphics forum if that helps.

Woww!! Amazing first cover ... I love people who make covers that actually look like covers - Like some people have really fancy stuff that truly are works of art, but not single covers :/

My favourite covers are always the ones that don't look anything like conventional covers - the covers I think work best are the really avant-garde ones... which is why I think the best album covers of all time are by bands like Cocteau Twins, The Pixies, Roxy Music, New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths and Depeche Mode... none of tem look like everyday single or album covers :heart:
