New medical/police procedural hybrid on ABC starring the brilliant Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair in Desperate Housewives). Started on ABC this week after being put back continually since the beginning of the television season until there was a decent slot open for it which seems to have worked as it scored a 3.1 in the 18-49 demo and got 14m viewers.

It's been described as a hybrid of Castle, House and Bones. The supporting cast seems pretty strong on first impression but it's definitely all about Dana who is as captivating as ever. Here she plays Dr Megan Hunt, a former neurosurgeon who killed a patient in the operating theatre and had to take a job as a Medical Examiner, which has given her a new-found compassion for the 'patients' she works with and has her working quite closely with the police (who tend not to appreciate her rather blunt methods).

I'm really hoping it delivers on the promise the pilot showed. Next episode airs on Sunday and then after that it's Tuesdays.

3 actors i know! :o Shall take a look.
I will be sure to give this a go. When does it air in the UK?

It's on Alibi in the UK so you can only watch with a full Sky or Virgin subscription package, no airdate known yet. Shame C4 didn't pick it up.

In other news Dana Delany is FIFTY-FIVE. She looks AMAZING.

My jaw is almost literally ON THE FLOOR.

55? :o Blimey, I'd have said somewhere in her late 40s?

Been waiting for this since shortly before September. Really enjoyed the pilot, Dana was brilliant, loved her when she was in DH. A great start for ABC, hope the ratings keep up, airing after DH this Sunday should be a good move. All other new dramas on ABC seem to have done bad this year, so it shouldn't be too hard for this to get renewed :D

That must be Jeri Ryan next to Dana, if I'm not mistaken. Sounds promising.

Yeah it's Jeri Ryan. She only has two scenes in the pilot but I've read that she pops up a bit more often in future episodes.
I always read this as 'Body Of Poof' :(

The second episode was v good as well. Definitely going to keep following this. Unfortunately it performed very averagely compared with the premiere (only a 2.0 in 18-49 demo and 8.44m viewers) but it was a one-off change of time slot and it went up against the Country Music Awards so hopefully on Tuesday it'll regain some audience.

I didn't even get to the line 'a hybrid of Castle, house and Bones' to think Bones rip-off.

Will check it out though. And if anything Castle is highly Bones inspired, and that i have seen to be able to call rip-off. rather good though, although i'm like 2 seasons behind having not seen it since it's Aussie premier

I will be checking this out though, i do like crime shows and Bones comparisons always peak my interest.

Let us know what you think when you get around to watching! I've not seen episode 3 yet but it rated a 2.4 in 18-49s with 11.07m viewers which is a nice rebound from Sunday. So far over the three episodes it's averaged a 2.5 in 18-49s with 11.17m viewers which should certainly be enough for a second season, I just hope it can maintain that.

Well I've just watched all three of the episodes and I really rather enjoyed them. I really see the Bones comparisons and the characters are all really well written. It's not my favourite freshman series of the year [That goes to the utterly sublime Fairly Legal] but it's certainly right up there.

I agree that the ratings look good for a second season, but the big test will be the next couple of weeks. The week on week rebound was good, but it still has had a big drop since its premier if it can stabilise somewhere between a 2.2-2.5 it should be safe for a 2nd season.

I'M RIGHT, HE'S WRONG. THE QUESTION IS HOW TO PROVE IT.

She's AMAZING.

This week it got a 2.5, a nice rebound. If it can level out there that would be superb.

I thought it was another good episode this week. i'm really loving it. Hopefully it'll get a 22ep order for next year and will appear in the Fall.

Christina Hendricks is in next weeks episode

Quite excited to see Christina Hendricks in it I have to say. So far the standard of the guest actors has been really quite hit and miss (erring more towards miss frankly) but you know she'll be bringing her A-game. I'm loving the show generally though, and it's almost all for Dana Delany. She really is an astonishingly likeable actress even playing quite cold or closed-off characters. I adore her.

She's brilliant at making Hunt really likeable. Almost as good as Emily Deschanel as Dr Temperance Brennan.

I am curious to see Hendricks as i have been debating the purchase of Mad Men in HMV as it's going dirt cheap

Oh my, I really enjoyed the latest episode but the amount of times I had to look away. I really don't like blood & all that stuff (yet I'm still watching this ), but I couldn't watch at all when she was opening up that guy :(
