Beautiful People up to #13!! Gosh! :o I can understand it though, it's an amazing song, and very instant. I imagine a lot of people will hear it once and have an urge to listen to it again asap, it's that type of song.

E.T. up to #5!!!! :cheer: I'd love this to get to #1. It'd be a bit strange if it charts higher than Firework, for obvious reasons, but this is great, and I want it to do as well as possible.

Britney back in the top 40!! :w00t: Again, deserved. It's a brilliant song, I can understand why people are buying it now they've heard it.

I definitely remember it being in the Radio 1 chart update, as I think I was listening to that one, and it was the first one in that update. I was also really surprised when it climbed so much at the end of the week, as I hadn't been checking itunes and other ones in the Wed update like Post Break-Up Sex and Jump Into The Fog had dropped massively.

Those were indie bands though, so they were frontloaded, while Yeah 3x was pretty much the very opposite.

The Radio 1 chart update is based on the Wednesday mids though, which are the second set of mids in any given week. AFAICR Y3X only entered the top 40 in that update.

Ah, I didn't see the first mids that week then.

I just listened to Beautiful People. Far better than Yeah 3x. It's almost caught up to Crawl, which is my favourite Chris Brown song, after only 2 listens, so he's definitely done something right.

I have a gut feeling 'Beautiful People' will be Chris Brown's first UK #1. We were all shocked about 2 weeks ago when LMFAO got to around where Chris is now (#13) and that was already all over music channels. Look at it now, challenging to take the #1 next week. Chris is already at #13 with tiny radio airplay and no video. I can see it happening tbh.

Let's be honest though, will popjustice ever give a Lady Gaga track a bad review? Well, maybe Love Game, I suppose.

You're right, it's doing awfully well when we consider how little promotion it has had so far. Even the music video on youtube only had a few hundred thousand views last time I checked. I hope it goes to #1! :D

Just read the review for Judas.

BPM? About 130?? Hmmmmmm. Isn't that around the same tempo as Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, Telephone and Paparazzi...

Oh, and I love this gem too:

Imagine a highly evolved, Titanium-plated 'Bad Romance' from the year 2511 travelling half a millennium back in time to save music from a tidal wave of 'in the club'-obsessed pop drivel, and that's 'Judas'.

Lady Gaga being credited as saving pop music again? Wow, never heard that one before... And "club-obsessed pop drivel"? Have they not heard Just Dance and Telephone (although Telephone isn't too bad, to be fair)?

Oh well, maybe I should listen to it first.

I hope it goes to Number 1 too and there doesn't seem to many potential releases to challenge either

Has anyone seen the music video on tv yet ? Yeah 3x seems to still be getting quite a bit of airplay

59. Bass Cannon - Flux Pavilion

69. If You Wanna - The Vaccines

I'm very surprised (in a good way) to see these two songs (especially the latter) actually holding up fairly well still. Hopefully Flux Pavilion can somehow go top 40 in the next couple of weeks, or at least beat his peak of #63.

57. Lady Luck - Jamie Woon

Pleased to see this no longer flopping so hard but it really is disappointing after the brilliant 'Night Air'.

I've seen it on Starz and Chart show TV, I don't watch the music channels much but it might be on MTV too

Beautiful People will get played at least 5 times next week on a music channel I get (I can't remember what it's called, for the life of me :drama:) because they play the top 40 every week.

Well I can say if they're right the song will be faster than Born This Way, as that is 124BPM - I know because I have VirtualDJ and that gives BPM of songs so that it's easier to mix them. Hopefully Judas will be good but it won't "save" pop music (cos pop music definitely doesn't need saving, pop/dance is at it's peak right now), and the "club-obsessed pop drivel" is actually really good and it is the music of now. I would even call "Born This Way" a club song - the lyrics don't scream "club song" but surely it gets played a lot at clubs as it has a great beat (of course I don't know because I've never been to a club - I'm not over 18)

Yes, you're right Daniel. Also 'Just Dance', 'Poker Face' and 'Bad Romance' are all 119 bpm. 'Telephone' was 122 bpm. Not sure about 'Paparazzi' - I'd guess something like 105 bpm as it had a slightly slower tempo.

130bpm, for example, is the tempo of 'On The Floor' by Jennifer Lopez.

Paparazzi is a bit slower, and Alejandro is even slower than that, I think (it's the only of her singles has a noticeably different tempo tbh). When I hear Alejandro when walking, I march in time to the beat, but I can't physically walk fast enough to do it with the others.

They said "about 130 bpm", which suggests they've either estimated it by ear, or they've been told the actual value but decided to round it. If they're rounding it it could be anywhere between 125 and 135. If they're estimating it by ear, depending on how accurate they are, it could be in even wider a range than that.

We won't know the truth about judas until we hear it. Although music taste is so varied, reviews of songs mean nothing to me.

LMFAO are close to overtaking J-lo now, and Katy is far behind at 3.

I'm surprised gooddelta hasn't commented on this (see #173 in the list below if you're wondering why I said this :P), but the reason there are loads of old dance songs back in the iTunes chart is because they're being cherry-picked from Ultimate Floorfillers, in case anyone's wondering.

In the top 200:

66. Adagio for Strings (Radio Edit) - Tiësto

102. Castles In the Sky - Ian Van Dahl

140. Pretty Green Eyes (Radio Edit) - Ultrabeat

162. Come With Me (Radio Edit) - SPECIAL D.

170. When Love Takes Over - Kelly Rowland & David Guetta

173. Set You Free - N-Trance

184. Toca's Miracle (Radio Edit) - Fragma

195. Played-a-live (The Bongo Song) [Radio Edit Without Crowd Noise] - Safri Duo

All the new Summer dance songs are already taking a toll on Adele's iTune position - she's down to #6 now, with The Black Eyed Peas, Mann and Katy Perry overtaking her. Wonder how quickly it'll fall out of the top 10?

I imagine it will stick around for the next few weeks, although it would make sense if it started to free fall.
