In conjunction with "Closest races to Number one" thread here are seven songs which all came within 3k of being number ones- simply rate them as you like them 7- The record you think SHOULD have been a number one, down to 1 for the one you think should NEVER have been a chart topper.

 

The top 3 WILL go through to the quarter final the bottom FOUR will go out and forever be damned to their No 2 status!

 

The eventual winner will become an honorary chart topper and the OCC have confirmed they will alter chart history to include this!*

5 FOUNDATIONS- Kate Nash - worthy of #1 but I like the fact it's one of those massive songs that didn't quite do it.

4 YOUR LOVE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH- Manic Street Preachers - well they're destined to pick at 2 with some of their best songs. Definitely good enough for #1 though.

3 NO U HANG UP/ IF THAT'S OK WITH YOU- Shayne Ward - should've been a comeback #1 I suppose

2 BETTER IN TIME/ FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND- Leona Lewis - again should've been #1 based on fanbase

Well, obviously it is an opinion game, since we all have different results. :lol:

 

But, for example, Love the Way You Lie. Someone might not like the song, but since it spent 6 months in the top 40, year-end #1, likely to out-sell one of the songs that beat it to #1 5 times, biggest-selling song in the world this decade, etc, you might think "Yeah, it's a boring song, but it really should've been a #1".
