Why is the video premier so ridiculously far away from the release date? Obviously labels stopped doing the os/as

The underperformances of 'Notorious' and 'Beat of My Drum' didn't encourage anyone, by the looks of things. Originally 'Freedom' was planned for the 'Notorious' style of release. Now... well, seemingly not. :P

 

They are going to put the video on VEVO on Wednesday. And for some reason they are advertising the 'Behind the Scenes' video. :blink:

Why wasting money on that video? Hopefully they'll fully advertise via Youtube the actual video then.

I agree, why would they waste money on hyping a Behind the Scenes video? (that was very bad and boring to begin with).

And I really hate the industry for stopping oa/os releases.

You can't blame the record labels, as British releases genuinely seem to do better with the classic scheme of releases. I imagine 'Beat of My Drum' would've got more airplay than airplay worthy a 700th-odd place in the airplay chart (I'm not even kidding!) if the radios hadn't seen how much it had fallen after the release week in the charts. Singles don't generate many sales anyway, especially when you're struggling to get a top-20 place (see Nicola again) and lots of companies prefer to get a higher peak, just for the sake of hype.

I do love the bit where Heidi and Amelle get really close.

It didn't seem to go anywhere, but I'll watch it again see if it seems better. On the plus side, when it comes on vevo we'll have a HQ dubstep version :D

After watching it for a second and third time from the beauty of rewind :D I enjoyed it more but it's still a shame nothing really happens. Amelle looks Amazing throughout though, she is the star of the band atm.

I found it really funny in the Behind the Scenes video when any of them were asked ''What is the concept of the video?'' They all answered absalout b*ll$H!t - Mainly, because there is no concept. At least a dance routine would've made it nice... Really bad lighting, bad camera angles, and that red/green hue is really annoying :(

Great song, yes. But it is a really disappointing video, as has been said nothing happens at all and there's no concept.
