I watched Blue's rehearsal out of morbid curiosity having read the comments...

 

It looks quite crap, did nobody learn anything from the Josh Dubovie staging fiasco last year :drama: Hopefully people will remember that it's a song contest and vote for the song, which when they pull it off 100% - which they hopefully will on the night - can sound fantastic. Overblown performances have certainly won in the past, Lordi, Dima Bilan...

 

I still think we have an outside chance of winning but I really think that France have it in the bag. The only rehearsal that's really blown me away from the semi-finalists is Austria - maybe I'm biased as it's my 2nd favourite of this year, but her voice is flawless, as in my opinion is the song - hopefully Europe will share the opinion as she NEEDS to be in the final, and frankly needs to be top ten in it - unlikely as it is.

 

Same, oh dear oh dear :drama: I think we still have time to pull it back, but it is ridiculously OTT. I watched France for similar reasons and it's brilliant in it's simplicity. I'm still not 100% convinced that it will win, but more so than with Austria :heehee:

I don't think the screens are that bad actually. Yes, i'd rather them not be there, but i don't think they'll have any effect on our chances. Its not like we'll be seeing them throughout the whole performance anyway, the cameras will be mainly focused on the boys. I'm really looking forward to seeing the final performance with all the fireworks and what not. Should be brilliant. Lee is sounding a bit better in that rehersal too, i just really hope the nerves don't get the better of him next Saturday, which i think they could...

 

I must say though, i LOVE the pause they've put in on the first chorus. :heart:

 

I'm pretty sure the UK will pull it off on the night. This is what rehearsals are for. I think because Blue are more mature and more experienced that they don't need the dance moves and the awful screens. Just less OTT and they'll be on their way. Can't see it winning, but a Jade-esque result is certainly on the cards!

Aren't the screens directly behing the guys? In the rehearsal I saw all four were working, but the one on the far right was behind the others... So we will see them throughout. I'm not sure the suits are a good idea either, it makes them look a bit poor-mans-Take-That...

With all the different camera angles they'll be filming it with though, they all (the screens) wont be in shot for the whole performance, they could look good on the TV though. I wouldn't mind a firework thing shooting up out the top of them at some point, that could look pretty cool. :kink:

 

I think the suits look alright. If they were all identical, then it'd look awful, but it looks pretty smart.

And that last video screen was miles behind the rest, so I wouldn't exactly say the UK was on form there either....

Ok...so I think France may win now. It was played as the last song when I was out last night, and it suddenly struck a chord with me! Amazing! And the rehearsal is pretty fantastic too.

I agree. This was very good vocally but the screens still need to go.

 

Ireland's rehearsal was a lot better again. Here I was thinking we were going to witness a car crash unfold on Thursday, but vocally the boys were good and the backing singers were louder, which was needed...

The screens are really cheap and tacky looking, but if they bring it vocally and get bad songs drawn next to them I'm back to being confident they can do very well.

Not watched much of the rehearsals, but Estonia's back-drop is just so busy, pretty distracting. I really like it though.

I have only watched some few, I thinks it's hopeless to see them :lol:

i wonder about Belarus 2nd rehearsal... they said in national news papers that they will not use folk ornament in the background, because it's too busy... but it's back... although i probably should know by now to take whatever is written in national paper and divide it by 10 :lol:

 

and it irks me that they have dulcimers but they are recorded... and the woman that appears to be playing them does it only half the time they sound in the song...

 

from a great way to show heritage it is slowly becoming a cheap trick... color me disappointed... :(

Just watched the most recent rehearsal - really so so much better vocally and visually :D I still think we CAN (come second)!
