Posted April 9, 201114 yr Alex Turner apologises to Take That Friday, April 8 2011, 22:35 BST By Sophie Hines, Entertainment Reporter Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner has apologised for his criticism of Take That back in 2006. At the time, Turner labelled the band a "load of b*llocks" at the Q Awards. This led to later claims that the Arctic Monkeys missed the 2008 Brit Awards to avoid clashing with Take That. Turner recently told NME that he takes the insults back, saying: "We love Gary Barlow. "I think I really offended him a few years ago though, which I'm sorry about. I didn't understand it then. Didn't know what was going on, trying to rustle some feathers." Turner also said that his band's next album, Suck It and See, will contain more humour than their 2009 release Humbug. Turner explained: "There were times in the lyrics on Humbug when I went into some corners that I didn't need to. But I went there and I think there's still some humour on that album. But it's definitely more prominent on [suck It and See]. There's a few more gags. Not just in the words but in the guitar solos as well."
April 10, 201114 yr Does it really matter after five years!? I think he's just responded to a question in the interview that was bound to come up. I don't think he'd have brought the subject up himself. I have a lot of time for Alex Turner actually and I do think he is very gifted and creative talent. Just think - I'd have never have started listening to them if it wasn't for that first Q article! I wished I'd have got tickets to see them at Sheffield (sold out in hours!) I could have got massive Brownie points from my son and enjoyed myself at the same time. Kath
April 10, 201114 yr Author I have never been an artice monkeys fan, there was such hype around them when there first album was relesaed i took time to listen to their material and although i cant say i didnt like it i have to say it done absolutly nothing for me at the same time, i have actually enjoyed the time they havnt been on the scene, on saying that i can see the appeal of their music and see why they are so popular, when i say that it has nothing to do with what alex said about take that, i was of the same opinion before that was said. To be fair to alex when he made the comment i think many people thought oh a boy band reforms who cares type thing and at that time i dont think many people experts or not predicted how take that mark 2 would be so huge.

In my opinion, their second album Favourite Worst Nightmares has so far been their best. Alex Turner is very creative with his lyrics - and a bloody genius singing those songs. Have you ever tried singing along to an AM song? They are really difficult songs to sing - I love his phrasing and the way he paces his words across the songs. He really does remind me of Jake Thackray with his wit and speed. Kath
April 11, 201114 yr Author To be fair i cant pass a fair judgement as they are a band i simply take no heed of i just switch of when they come on, i will try and give the new material a fair and honest listen when i hear it and see what i think then.

You ought to give FWN a try Pete. Tracks I'd pick out are 'D Is For Dangerous', 'Fluorescent Adolescent' and 'This House Is A Circus' (my son's favourite). My personal favourite though from the whole album is 'Do Me A Favour'. I have to add though - that ALL the songs are very, very good. Kath Edited April 11, 201114 yr by Kathyp

February 15Feb 15 Turner also said that his band's next album, Suck It and See, will contain more humour than their 2009 release Humbug. I know AM fans consider this as their worst album but this album is my their favourite :) Alex is in his best. I've been at one their concert. In my opinion it was the craziest I've ever been. In a very good meaning. H9svkVZ32Cg
