Have you all heard the new single from Fountains Of Wayne named 'Someone To Love'? If not go to thread in the indie forum and listen to it, I think it's just as great as 'Stacy's Mom.' :D

I think their new single is gonna flop big time tbh.

It's been something like four years since they last released something?

Unfortunatley I think that it probably will flop but I still think it's a great song, they just need to give it tv/radio play and hopefully people will find it catchy like they did with 'Stacy's Mom,'.

Their last single was called 'Hey Julie,' it was released in September 2004 and had a peak of #57, that was their follow-up from 'Stacy's Mom,' but the album 'Welcome Interstate Managers,' wasn't too brilliant apart from a few songs.

I never knew they had brought out another single apart from Stacy's Mom! :o

I may have a listen to it later and tell you what it's like. :D ^_^ I'm just a tad busy at the moment listening to some other music.

 They actually sent a video out to TV for 'Mexican Wine,' soon after the sucess of 'Stacy's Mom,' and that personally was my 2nd favourite song from 'Welcome Interstate Managers,' but it ended up not getting a release and they moved on to 'Hey Julie,' which in all honesty I don't remember how it sounds so it obviously was a bit c**p.

They released an album? :o

They released an album? :o

They've released several albums.

Fountains Of Wayne - Fountains Of Wayne (26-05-1997)

Fountains Of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers (15-09-2003)

Fountains Of Wayne - Out Of State Plates (27-06-2005)

'Out Of State Plates,' was just a 2CD album which featured non-album tracks recorded during Fountains Of Wayne's career up to that point. The only album by them I own is 'Welcome Interstate Managers.'

Well that's new to me.

I thought they just released Stacy's Mom and then vanished.

 I suppose they could still be considered as a one hit wonder but at the same time they don't seem to give up, from the looks of things that gap from 1997 until 2004 helped them as they created 'Stacy's Mom.' :D As much as I want 'Someone To Love,' to be sucessful I actually doubt they'll ever get a song which manages to sell as much as 'Stacy's Mom,' did.

I doubt they'll ever be able to release a song that did as well as Stacy's Mum did. I think the song owes a lot to the video for making the track as successful as it was though!

Rachel Hunter looked very sexy in that video, don't you agree? ^_^

Maybe they would get another hit if they jumped on the emo bandwagon. I definitley hope they don't as it would probably end up sounding awful by Fountains Of Wayne.

Nope. :( I preffered the teenage girl in it. :P

I'm glad that it's coming to an end but hopefully great bands such as Fall Out Boy and MCR won't change their sound because of this because personally I don't even consider emo as a genre.

FOB and MCR are more well pop-rock tbh. I don't think there is enough emo music about to definie it as a genre so it's better of classing that stuff to pop-rock IMO. :P

I think pop-rock is a better classification as emo is more of a style than an actual genre imo.

Have you heard Madness featuring Sway & Baby Blue? It's the 80's band Madness and the single is called 'Sorry.' :D I think it's actually very good and it doesn't sound too far away from something The Ordinary Boys could have recorded, however there are obviously strong influences of Madness in The Ordinary Boys music.

Nope I haven't heard it. :(

Nope I haven't heard it. :(

Hopefully you will hear it eventually anyway. :D Madness quite obviously aren't going to have sucess in the modern day seeing as their peak was in the 80's but with the right promotion it could be a decent sized hit seeing as it features both Sway & Baby Blue. Don't ask who Baby Blue is because I don't know myself, she sounds like a complete replica of Lady Sovereign so maybe this song is to kickstart her career?
