I think my mam would check me into a psychiatric ward if I ever came home with anything other than indie or rock albums

Whenever i've been to HMV, she always wants to know what i've bought. Strange, because I know she won't like it

Oh i'm always like that; if ever my mum or anyone goes shopping i'll always ask what she's bought. :P I don't really know why I ask though.

I never bother asking anyone, because i'll end up saying something about what they've bought that they're not gonna like, and i'll end up getting a smack in the face or something

Well I always think its nice to ask what your family has bought. I sometimes make a sarcastic comment though  about what they have bought but they know its all harmless.

Oh well, they seem a lot more understanding than my family and friends

Just out of curiosity, do you play any instruments? I can play 'A Certain Romance' on the keyboard!

Oh I took up guitar for a bit and learnt, Jingle Bells and Mary Had A Little Lamb. :party2: But yeah it lost its novelty with me after a bit so I just gave up with it. :(

My mam bought me this cheapy little 99p keyboard years and years ago (you know the ones with the 6 instrument settings that all sound the same  ). I taught myself how to play.. im quite proud ^_^

I bought myself a proper Yamaha about a year ago, though

I tend to just pick a song I like and try to learn it. I'm c**p with learning chords, but i'm good at memorising which order to play things in. I can play 'When The Sun Goes Down' as well.. and I did learn 'Despair In The Departure Lounge', but i've forgotten how to play it now :(

Seems your quite the music player. :party2:

Oh I had a go at learning Hard-FI - Hard To Beat which is one of my fav songs ever but I couldn't learn it as its all bar chords and I couldn't learn cords; I was more of a tabs man. B)

I've never been in a band though

And agreed 'Hard To Beat' was one of the songs of the year last year, easily. I can play 'Cash Machine'.. but it sounds wierd on keyboard instead of guitar

Hard-FI are like my favourite band. B) Yeah I got into them before they became really famous when they re-released Cash Machine and then there album got to #1.

I admit I only really started liking them when they released 'Hard To Beat'. I bought the album after 'Living For The Weekend' was released. I think my favourite song is a toss up between 'Tied Up Too Tight' and 'Hard To Beat'.. both are amazing

I first got into them when they released Tied Up Too Tight and then I bought their album the week it was released. B) I don't know what my favourite song is by them though. :o All the songs on the album are minted. ^_^ and a lot of their other tracks are decent as well. ^_^

I like the album, apart from (believe it or not) the title track! I just thought 'Stars Of CCTV' was a bit feeble for an album title track, and let the album down slightly. Still, at least it was right at the end of the album which meant that if I didn't want to hear it I could just turn it off before it came on ^_^

That track just really sums the band up though. They all say that their lives were going nowhere and the Stars Of CCTV was really saying whereever we go were watched. ^_^ When I first got the album it was one of my favourite tracks, but now I don't have a favourite track as I like them all. :party2:

Well 'Hard To Beat' was my original fave, then it was 'Tied Up Too Tight', then it was 'Hard To Beat' again, and then they were both the same for a bit, and then 'Tied Up Too Tight' was my fave again... I can't keep up anymore.. let's just say they both kick ass

The whole album is just brilliant though. ^_^ :party2:

I think at just about every song has been my favourite at some point.

I like 'Middle Eastern Holiday' as well.. and even though it's pretty depressing 'Move On Now' is good as well :)

Move On Now reminds me so much of Summer 2005. ^_^ Its a nice little song. ^_^ The live version is a lot better though as its a lot more upbeat. :party2:

Yeah, the album reminds me of summer as well, especially Hard To Beat. I was in my mates backgarden playing footy when I heard it for the first time :)

good memories ^_^

I can't remember the first time I heard Hard To Beat. I have a memory of hearing it though on this real summers day and then it came blasting out on the radio. ^_^

:o Busy thread

Hard To Beat is an essential of 2005. And fortunately it was blasted out by Radio 1 frequently. Hopefully the new album will be released/leaked soon ^_^
