April 11, 201114 yr Wasn't that the one by Olta Boka or something with all those candles and it was like religious and all that? It had an interesting backing screen, but I fail to see what was at all eventful about it  It was just her there singing! It wasn't really up there with Ukraine, Greece and Russia - all three of which had proper event performances that year.
April 11, 201114 yr ANYWAY: SF1 1. Finland (144) 2. Turkey (114) 3. Serbia (107) 4. Norway (105) 5. Azerbaijan (93) 6. Russia (92) 7. Malta (87) 8. Poland (85) 9. Hungary (74) 10. Armenia (68) 11. Poland (21) - I'd actually be quite pleased with a Bosnia victory, but not in the way this one turned out. The UK were leading until the last ten votes!
April 11, 201114 yr Author Well we can agree on something, Bosnia are overdue a win, and it's a great song. And that was a typo, I mean Albania 2009 (with the fairy princess dress and the spangly morph-suit-avant-la-lettre).

April 11, 201114 yr Author I love the song too, and I tipped it as a potential winner, which might have been overdoing it, but it easily would have gone top 10 with a stronger/less weird performance.
April 11, 201114 yr Well we can agree on something, Bosnia are overdue a win, and it's a great song. And that was a typo, I mean Albania 2009 (with the fairy princess dress and the spangly morph-suit-avant-la-lettre). Indeed, but that didn't finish last/bottom five either! And in any case, you say a stronger performance would've helped Albania 2009 (which I still dispute being an event performance - the only big event performance from 2009 that comes to mind is Ukraine's, which is about how I could see Eric doing if he did badly) - even Eric's biggest critics admit the performance is one of the slickest going for this year's contest!
April 11, 201114 yr I love the song too, and I tipped it as a potential winner, which might have been overdoing it, but it easily would have gone top 10 with a stronger/less weird performance. I can remember Terry Wogan's 'gimp' comments about that performance  It would have been a potential winner most other years, but 2009 was a very strong year!
April 11, 201114 yr I can remember Terry Wogan's 'gimp' comments about that performance  It would have been a potential winner most other years, but 2009 was a very strong year! I think you mean Graham Norton :P I don't think it would've been a potential winner in any year, it was a little too subtle as a track and not really universal enough. It could've been a top ten in a few though with an ideal position and a slightly less bizarre performance.
April 11, 201114 yr Here's mine. :kink: 1. United Kingdom (242) 2. Bosnia Herzegovina (188) 3. Bulgaria (185) 4. FYR Macedonia (155) 5. Albania (151) 6. Estonia (137) 7. Russia (131) 8. Netherlands (130) 9. Latvia (109) 10. Armenia (105) 11. Lithuania (101) 12. Finland (96) 13. Spain (95) 14. Ukraine (70) 15. Denmark (69) 16. Belarus (66) 17. Serbia (64) 18. France (60) 19. Poland (56) 20. Slovakia (56) 21. Greece (55) 22. Germany (55) 23. Norway (54) 24. Croatia (45) 25. Italy (19) The United Kingdom took off during the last ten votes or so. This was with the votes set to how well I thought they'd do too...
April 11, 201114 yr Eugh at Macedonia in that one. And EUGH AT HOW I CAN'T GET A SINGLE UK VICTORY UNDER ODDS. We lead until the last ten or so votes EVERY TIME and then fall away and finish fifth or something :manson:
April 12, 201114 yr I did a completely random one last night and Portugal ended up winning. Germany came second. France, Italy and Spain were in the bottom three. The UK was 5th I think.
April 12, 201114 yr I think you mean Graham Norton :P I don't think it would've been a potential winner in any year, it was a little too subtle as a track and not really universal enough. It could've been a top ten in a few though with an ideal position and a slightly less bizarre performance. Was that the year he took over? I swear it was Terry! Hmm, maybe not potential winner but definitely in contention, top 5 perhaps? I'm pretty bias towards it seeing as I absolutely love it so I'm probably overrating it a lot. About to do another simulation ^_^

Hungary (24)
April 12, 201114 yr Don't forget Ukraine 2009's placing for probably the BEST ESC PERFORMANCE EVER. :(
April 12, 201114 yr 1. Norway (196) 2. Denmark (189) 3. France (185) Before the last set of votes, only Israel was left to vote, when only the 12 points were left to be announced, no one in the top 3 had got points.. Final results... 1. France (197) 2. Norway (196) 3. Denmark (189) 4. Germany (157) 5. Switzerland (149) 6. Slovenia (146) 7. Hungary (138) 8. Bosnia Herzegovina (123) 9. United Kingdom (121) 10. Turkey (118) 11. Slovakia (104) 12. Russia (93) 13. Romania (90) 14. Sweden (85) 15. Finland (81) 16. Georgia (75) 17. Ireland (75) 18. Azerbaijan (73) 19. Israel (67) 20. Poland (57) 21. Austria (51) 22. Italy (41) 23. Armenia (37) 24. Spain (20)
April 12, 201114 yr Final 1. Turkey (232) 2. Germany (230) 3. Spain (183) 4. United Kingdom (176) 5. France (174) 6. Georgia (151) 7. Netherlands (130) 8. Sweden (93) 9. Armenia (90) 10. Russia (89) 11. Israel (88) 12. Azerbaijan (83) 13. Bosnia Herzegovina (78) 14. FYR Macedonia (74) 15. Serbia (74) 16. Slovenia (72) 17. Switzerland (68) 18. Norway (64) 19. Moldova (63) 20. Italy (62) 21. Ukraine (55) 22. Denmark (53) 23. Poland (43) 24. Greece (36) 25. Ireland (33) While I wouldn't really like a Turkish win (nor really expect it), having 4 of the big 5 in the remainder of the top 5 would be something, if only to put to rest the criticism Eurovision gets for being 'anti-western'. Quite often when I've tried this, one of the contending countries has always been the last to vote; when Germany's voted for all of the top 5 bar Turkey with their 12 left, it's not hard to guess where it's going, and anti-climatic too. SF1 1. Georgia (136) 2. Azerbaijan (122) 3. Turkey (116) 4. Switzerland (107) 5. Russia (106) 6. Poland (89) 7. Greece (81) 8. Armenia (73) 9. Serbia (72) 10. Norway (60) 11. Albania (49) 12. Finland (46) 13. Hungary (40) 14. San Marino (29) 15. Iceland (24) 16. Lithuania (21) 17. Portugal (20) 18. Croatia (18) 19. Malta (9) None of that's a real surprise in terms of getting into the final (bar perhaps Hungary, though maybe not with her voice), but I can't see Georgia (or Turkey) doing that well really. SF2 1. Sweden (133) 2. FYR Macedonia (122) 3. Denmark (119) 4. Israel (96) 5. Slovenia (96) 6. Ireland (95) 7. Netherlands (90) 8. Ukraine (85) 9. Bosnia Herzegovina (78) 10. Moldova (76) 11. Romania (75) 12. Latvia (44) 13. Austria (40) 14. Slovakia (37) 15. Estonia (36) 16. Belarus (21) 17. Bulgaria (20) 18. Belgium (7) 19. Cyprus (6) Estonia and FYR Macedonia are the two shocks her imo, and I can't see either being that low or high respectively if they were to gett into the final or not (particularly in the latter's case).
April 14, 201114 yr Author Don't forget Ukraine 2009's placing for probably the BEST ESC PERFORMANCE EVER. :( True. Poor Svetlana :snif: Anywhoo (odds/diaspora): 1. Bosnia Herzegovina (227) 2. United Kingdom (200) 3. Armenia (195) 4. Germany (191) 5. Russia (161) 6. Switzerland (153) 7. Norway (101) 8. Hungary (100) 9. Turkey (100) 10. Italy (95) 11. Azerbaijan (91) 12. Poland (83) 13. Romania (37) Switzerland look stupidly high here, but for most of the first 10-12 votes they were actually winning  I'd be pretty happy with this top 5 though - and this bottom three :kink:
April 15, 201114 yr Did it again! 1. United Kingdom (180) 2. Denmark (177) 3. Estonia (170) 4. Romania (162) 5. Norway (149) 6. Cyprus (148) 7. Bosnia Herzegovina (133) 8. Germany (130) 9. April 15, 201114 yr Author Wahey! I did it again too... 1. Turkey (248) 2. Azerbaijan (206) 3. France (204) 4. Estonia (199) 5. Sweden (192) 6. Bosnia Herzegovina (163) 7. United Kingdom (158) 8. Romania (43) 20. Serbia (38) 21. Denmark (34) 22. Greece (24) 23. Moldova (24) 24. Hungary (13) 25. Spain (13) Not so great. That would probably the most diaspora-tastic top 2 ever. France doesn't deserve to (and won't) do that well either.
