why is Adele falling so fast... what's going on with her???

She's not falling fast at all. She's just been overtaken by three songs that were already extremely close to her anyway (as in all over 95%) in quick succession. Besides, she's had 6 straight weeks at #1 on Digital Songs (and the BBH100 of course). Give her 3 more weeks and she'll have the highest selling song of the year. :P

Falling fast? She could fall out of top 100 and it'd be fine! She spent WEEKS at #1 and has sold MILLIONS of RITD, everything now is just a bonus.
Adele should still be #1 this week officially too. Then I think after that it'll be Pitbull or Katy Perry.

Eric.. :(

The Wizards of Waverly Place star was asked about the possibility of a future collaboration with Bieber during an appearance on GMA this morning.

"I'm not sure," she replied. "Whenever I do songs I do it organically so if it happens, it happens."

Gomez was also asked about her recent vacation with Bieber and coping with a relationship in the public eye, saying: "I'm young and I spent the first three years hiding and terrified of things like that.

she should stay at number 1 for at least 2 more weeks... she totally deserves it... besides, she's british... so it's a HUGE achievement for any british artist in the US...

this hasn't happened since Elton John in 1997....

hopefully she will :yahoo:

Do remember that British people are somewhat outnumbered by American people.

iTunes:

3 Pitbull Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) 0.765233

4 ADELE Rolling In the Deep 0.700053

Airplay:

1. ADELE - Rolling In The Deep: 165.876

3. PITBULL - Give Me Everything f/Ne-Yo: 129.435

So Adele is ~91% of Pitbull on iTunes whereas Pitbull is ~78% of Adele on airplay. I'm not sure how the BBH100 is weighted but surely Pitbull is still nowhere near potentially overtaking Adele on the Hot 100? I think Adele has a 7th week in the bag and probably at least one more after that as well barring some unforeseeable circumstances. LFN(T.G.I.F.) will need some time to build up airplay.

Bare in mind that Last Friday Night's airplay at the moment is less than 1/4 of Rolling In The Deep's airplay but is increasing RAPIDLY.

Adele will 100% have 7th week #1 in the bag and possibly 8th :)

Adele will be number one next week, no doubt about it. Katy Perry's lead is not significant enough and will not have a massive lead, therefore she will need to wait for her airplay to increase dramatically. I think she will be number one in two weeks time. Pitbull has missed his chance.
LMFAO can be a contender as their airplay has increased SOO much and plus they're not that far behind Katy Perry on iTunes.

Well, using the same parameters as last time:

2 LMFAO Party Rock Anthem (feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock) 0.855732

4 ADELE Rolling In the Deep 0.714447

1. ADELE - Rolling In The Deep: 165.876

9. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem: 74.535

So Adele is ~83% of LMFAO on iTunes but LMFAO are only ~45% of Adele on airplay (and I've actually rounded slightly in LMFAO's favour on both of those figures). Unless their airplay continues to skyrocket or Adele collapses on either sales or airplay I can't see them challenging until at least after Adele has had 8 weeks at #1 on BBH100.

Wow LMFAO has taken quite a while to get so high, you can never deem a song a flop in US for months look at RITD didnt hit #1 till months after it was released. Such a big country takes a while for a song to catch on, unless your KP, riri or Gaga it seems

Wow Kenny Chesney is doing very well with 'You and Tequila' as it's only No. 15 on country songs with lots of room to grow and is fourth single from his latest album. Should go top 40 or even top 30 on Hot 100 and help the album over 1 million.

It's hell of an amazing song as well

Its airplay is increasing +2.0+ everyday though whereas Adele airplay is decreasing everyday. Still have a chance I reckon.

01. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night 100%

02. Lmfao - Party Rock Anthem. 85.5%

03. Pitbull & Ne-yo & Afrojack - Give Me Everything 77.5%

04. Adele - Rolling In The Deep 72.5%

05. Lady Gaga - Edge Of Glory 62.2%

Yeah, that's very true. Especially for new artists, it can take ages for them to get their first hit. Like Just Dance by Lady Gaga, I think it took like 5 months to get to #1 or something crazy.

Adele's got so popular there now though, I think her future singles will get in the charts quicker.
