I love the album, definitely one of the best of the year on first listens. 'Lego House', 'The City' and 'Give Me Love' are my favourite at the moment.

A few listens in....

10 The A Team

10 Drunk

07 U.N.I.

09.5 Grade 8

09 Wake Me Up

08 Small Bump

07 This

09.5 The City

09 Lego House

10 You Need Me, I Don't Need You

06 Kiss Me

06 Give Me Love

06.5 The Parting Glass (hidden)

06 Autumn Leaves

08 Little Bird

07.5 Gold Rush

06 Sunburn

For me;

11.0 The A Team

08.5 Drunk

08.5 U.N.I.

09.0 Grade 8

07.0 Wake Me Up - The corny 'Match.com advert' type lyrics are offputting but it's better than average musically

09.5 Small Bump

07.0 This

09.5 The City - This was on Loose Change but a far inferior version, the version on here is immense

09.5 Lego House

10.0 You Need Me, I Don't Need You

07.5 Kiss Me

08.5 Give Me Love - This would be GREAT (a 9.5) if not for the 'Love me' shouting he does at the end, it's rather cringeworthy to listen to actually

07.0 The Parting Glass (hidden)

----------------------------

08.0 Autumn Leaves

09.0 Little Bird

08.0 Gold Rush

07.0 Sunburn

It's a really strong debut but my favourites by far are the two singles, The City, Small Bump, Lego House and the first few minutes of Give Me Love pre-outburst. Would have preferred to see This and Sunburn replaced with updated versions of Sofa and One Night.

Oh this album is definitely a grower.

The City, Lego House, and the two singles are my favourites so far. Especially the full version of You Need Me, can't stop listening to that. The version I had before didn't have the last bit.

10.0 The A Team

09.0 Drunk

07.5 U.N.I.

07 Grade 8

06 Wake Me Up

07 Small Bump

08 This

09.5 The City

09.5 Lego House

11.0 You Need Me, I Don't Need You

09 Kiss Me

08.5 Give Me Love

07.5 The Parting Glass

I only have the standard version. Tracks with ?? are ones I haven't listened to enough yet to 'get' their identity (Translation: I can't remember anything about them from one listen :P).

But a very strong album from the ones I can pick out. I'll update when I have.

EDIT: In case anyone reads this, I've updated it. Didn't feel a new post. Just put this here so that the thread makes sense.

So what is the point in rating it then? Any normal person would get used to the tracks before rating them.

This is an early rate. I tend to get through the tracks, see which ones I like, and listen to the ones that jump out. The others I listen to later. I'm just rating now because I feel like it. And I feel like showing the love for the proper amazing tracks. :D

Like I said, I'll do a proper rate later.

Oh my, is there Regina/Eyes tension that I haven't picked up on? :o

My rate:

06 The A Team

?? Drunk

?? U.N.I.

?? Grade 8

?? Wake Me Up

?? Small Bump

?? This

?? The City

?? Lego House

08 You Need Me, I Don't Need You

?? Kiss Me

?? Give Me Love

?? The Parting Glass (Actually haven't listened to any of the ??s at all yet)

 No.

I just take rates VERY seriously :snif:

Am actually listening to this properly now, I don't hate it but I'm not as fond as some of you are. Wake Me Up and Small Bump seemed particularly awful but some of the others have been quite good so I'll certainly not write it off quite yet... In general I'd say I prefer him when he sounds a bit more like Jason Mraz.

I liked U.N.I. more when I didn't know the title.

edit: Oh, Give Me Love is rather great from 3.50ish onwards isn't it?

I'd like to add my rate as well

04 The A Team

Proper rate:

06 The A Team

05 Drunk

02 U.N.I.

05 Grade 8

00 Wake Me Up

03 Small Bump

04 This

07 The City

06 Lego House

08 You Need Me, I Don't Need You

06 Kiss Me

08 Give Me Love

05 The Parting Glass

I don't like this at all. It sounds very dull to me and none of the songs stick with me.

He has a good voice, I watched him sing (a weird version of) the traditional Wayfaring Stranger on Youtube (I'm biased of course, Emmylou just does it so good). But his songs really fall through.

Apparently Rupert Grint's in the video for Lego House, there's a picture of them together in the same clothes...

He really plays on the fact that he's ginger a lot doesn't he!

Good video

Why did Ed not just play himself? :( I find him so attractive it's unreal! Good video though!

You find him ATTRACTIVE!?! Why has no one questioned the insanity of this statement yet? I genuinely can't look at him. He looks the type to have disturbing files on his computer drive. The big weirdo.

As much as I desperately want to dislike him, I found myself absolutely loving 'Lego House' today. Didn't think much of it when listening to the album (which I generally found a bit bland).

Yes, continuing my decline into insanity :(
