Wow, I don't know at least half of this list. I have some listening to do.

However, from the ones I do know, I'm going for Frankee. Worse than Eamon, imo, though neither is particularly good.

I like Frankee. At least it actually had humour, Eamon's was just "shut the f*** up and get over it, whiny tit" :D

But yes, both will do rubbish here. I just hope Frankee can win the battle of them

The video to 'Somebody To Love' always used to deeply disturb me for some reason.

For some reason? It had babies parachuting on to a woman's breast. I think it's pretty obvious why it disturbed you

That video is LEGENDARY. But yes, it messes with your head a bit. Especially when you're 13.

I'd expect Frankee to win out of the two, being female and everything. :kink:

True :P I'd be less disturbed if the person who made that video turned out to be Japanese. :kink:

Erm, I was 8 when I saw that video for the first time.

HA! I remember one of my classmates who was CONSTANTLY talking about this video at school. He was quite excited because of it, and I was quite scared by his behaviour.

For some reason this 2004 list is much more familiar for me than 05/06 ones. It's probably because I gave up on watching TV / MTV when I was 14 and didn't start to follow music via Internet properly because of PAINFULLY slow connection.

No, I mean I was 13 (or maybe 12 or 14, but around that age) when I first saw it.

How old are you, btw?

I didn't have either MTV or Internet until very late on. I really missed out. :( I think we got Internet in our house the year before this, and we had an insanely slow dial-up connection. I remember to watch a video I used to have to wait like half an hour for it to fully load sometimes. I used to watch MTV a lot when I went to my friends houses though.

14. I thought this was common knowledge around this forum. (Also it's on my profile)

"Common knowledge"? I guess I'm just a bit out of the loop. I was only a bit younger than you when these songs were popular then. :o

Oh Eric, so you're basically the same age as me? I was always thinking that you're like 17 or something. No offense!

I know that dial-up connection! It also always tends to break, but at least I didn't spend so much time in the Internet as I spend now.

To remind you all, Somebody to Love!

Yeah, I didn't spend as much time on the Internet. Simply because I couldn't, without wanting to tear my hair out! :drama: It was terrible back then. There's so much you wanted to do, but it just took soooooooo long. Sometimes it even took like a minute to load basic web pages like Google, etc. :(

Oh, and I'm equally distanced between your age and 17. :kink:

MTV was rubbish anyway, at least here :P I only watched The Box, and occasionally some of the other pop music channels like The Hits or Chart Show TV (there was also one called Flaunt around this time that I quite liked I recall, and another one called B4 that used to show songs pre-release and had the slogan "B4 - it's a hit!"). I'm pretty sure the latter two don't exist anymore though, and The Box has gone on to complete $h!t nowadays.

I never really discovered music from the internet back then, even though I did have an internet connection - probably because I was busy stuck in my pop bubble, and probably also because I wouldn't have known where to start anyway. Although I was starting to branch out to some of the more alternative music channels around this time.

I thought he was 13 until he corrected me the other day... :D I only knew he was ridiculously young.

Yeah. Even now, I only get two MTV channels in my house. Although they're not bad (except when they're showing things like "15 and pregnant", etc.). Since the Internet, I've watched a bit of American MTV from earlier years (mainly to see interviews of artists I like, etc.), and I would've loved to watch that as a kid. :(

And yeah. I bet most people here would think I was younger than Bray if they didn't know better. I act so immature on here sometimes (mainly when Rihanna does badly in one of these games).

MTV is pretty much $h!t in here too but there isn't any alternative really. The other main channel is MuzTV which is like 10 times worse with loads of Russian crap music being shown loads. There are some other music channels too (we even have our own 'Box' too IIRC) but they aren't really known. But, like in the other parts of globe, main MTV and that MuzTV channels aren't about music anymore, they're more about teen entertaining sadly. However, in 2004 MTV was half-decent, it showed actual MUSIC and sometimes it was nice to watch it, especially night programms with some real quality music there.

Oh, we have another music channel which is quite popular at the moment, it's called A1 (Alternative One, The First Alternative). It's pretty much $h!t too because it's far too narrow-minded. Such genres as pop or commercial R&B or Dance are pretty much like a swear words for them. Instead they show countless faceless rock/indie bands (I mean, those rock-indie bands who are really faceless), sometimes mixing them with the quality electronic music (OK, I'll give them credit to that). Their shows are very hilarious to watch too. For instance, one sport show is the show where they go, say, snowboarding to some mountains and like 20-30% of the whole air of the programme takes talking and chatting how nice the native girls are and how it is lovely to tweak them on their asses, that made me cringe. I know this channel quite well, as I go to the cafe where it's shown, to be honest it's sometimes even quite entertaining to explore what the 'cool' guys and girls tend to listen/watch .

Edit: and another one is RuTV but there are 100% of Russian music being shown. My ears are bleeding when I accidentally watch it here or there.

Wow. That sounds, er... fun?

On the channels I get, they both pretty much play chart music. One of them actually plays the official top 40 every day, which takes up a few hours. I agree, night is the best time to watch them though. They play songs outside the charts more. They occasionally do interviews with artists too, which is cool.

There's a massive lack of rock/indie/etc. music on them though. I'm not the biggest fan of those genres, so it's not the worst thing for me, but still. Although one of the channels I get (it might be 4Music?), used to do a special chart for a few hours every week for only rock songs, which was at least something.
