I know its only 30 seconds but I think its dreadful. Maybe the other two and a half minutes will make up for it.

I thought the same Kath but i dunoo, i also thought most of Progress was dreadful on first listen but that grew on me massively after a couple of listens....

If you look at some of the comments on the TT site though - from the 30 second clip ... most people are raving about it. I get the feeling that if Take That sang the Yellow Pages to the tune of Agadoo - most fans on the official site would swear it was the best song ever written.

Yes, some fans will just say they love it regardless or will love evrything they record, no matter how a big a fan anyone is of an artist the artist always releases soemthing that you wont like, i a huge kylie fan but there is a few songs of hers that i have been so disapointed with and have no problem in syaing so, likewise with take that, with love love i cant pass comment yet as i dont know what i think of it just yet.

Is that the clip from the TT home-page? If so - its a 'tiny' bit better than the other one. At least you can grab a hold of it a bit more. I'm still not convinced. They've experimented enough with the toys (autotune, vocoder, etc) now from 90% of the content of the Progress album - it'd be nice if they'd just do a straight-forward song for a change.

Kath

Sounds awful :puke: This is a bad to say in the TT forum, but as a Gaga loon I have to say it - this best not push Edge Of Glory down iTunes!

I like TT's upbeat stuff, but the autotune seems like they're trying far too hard to be cool. I want an upbeat song like Shine or Up All Night again!

yeah kath, it was posted on the tt website earlier today. i agree im still not entirely convinced but hopefully it'll be one of those songs that catches fast. either way im sure that at least 3/4 of the 1million plus people going to see take that will want a copy of this single just so they can sing it when it is performed in across the tour

i think you're in the wrong place lol. edge of glory is not that good, it just seems good because its being compared to the mediocre born this way and judas.

Apparently someone has leaked on Twitter that the video will be shot tomorrow in one day. Slightly disappointing as that pretty much means that they will be standing behind a mic in Abbey Rd studios or somewhere similar as they did in the RTW video with a trailer playing behind them.

Ya,if the video is going to be shot in one day it will be basic enough, video;s though in general i dont take much heed of, video;s never overly caught my attention unless its something really different or weird or something.
just downloaded it. mostly gary on lead with mark on partial lead halfway thru.

lol, you beat me to it!

I'd heard the 30 second clip on Amazon a while ago (before it was removed) and at first I really wasn't sure. Just like the Progress album it was a little bit different to what I was used to from Take That but, just like that album, after a few listens I started to enjoy it. The tune even got stuck in my head so I'm glad to hear it in its entirety now.

I don't think the people who mentioned Robbie sounding great on it or it being a mix of The Flood and Eight Letters have heard it because it is definitely Gary and Mark doing the lead with everyone else blending together. As for the sound, it's more like Kidz than anything else.

It's no Rule The World but to me nothing really comes close to that and quite frankly that sort of song wouldn't fit with a film about young mutants trying to control their powers and save the earth from a nuclear Armageddon... incidentally I was already excited about the film (I love Marvel, in particular X Men stuff), so the song is icing on the cake for me. The song does seem to be out a little early though with the film not released until 3rd June - is that normal?

Sorry for double posting, but I didn't want to make my other post too long... I'm not sure if this is against any rules but if it is I'm sure it will be deleted soon enough, but I've listened to the song a few times and wrote down the lyrics, as accurate as I can get them. I'm tired and some of it doesn't sound right, but I really like to read lyrics along while songs are playing and couldn't find them elsewhere so decided to do it myself and post here.

Give it, give it what I need

A few words here and there might be off, but maybe someone else will correct what I messed up on.

On a side note, I know they only have a day to film the video but I am hoping for some digital editing to make them into mutants - if Backstreet Boys can do it for Everybody (Backstreet's Back) I expect nothing less from Take That!

[Edit] I really was tired when I did this, edited some lyrics. Edited again once I'd heard it on the National Movie Awards.

I have to say I really quite like it. It's definitely not the best song they've ever done but it's quite catchy and I like the slightly retro sound it's got mixed with the modern stuff.

The only problem with it is that it sounds like a rip off of Kidz.

I really like it now! its actually a bloody good song!

and its doing well on itunes, just need it to keep going!

Exactly. Rule The World wouldnt have fit the movie well, it needed to be upyemp and from from the clip I have heard its pretty decent.

#7 on itunes now so if it holds up which it should with the movie awards oerformance they will get another top 10 hit to their credit.

Oh I think it'll do better than top 10!

I heard it in full before on Wish FM. I think a bit better of it now that I've heard the full song. It still wouldn't be up there with my favourite songs though and (unlike RTW, Shine or Patience) as with the rest of their recent stuff I doubt it'll still be remembered in years to come.

Still - Love, Love is much better than Kidz.
