The singer, who has recently had SARAH FERGUSON and daughter BEATRICE round to stay, told the princess to pass his best wishes on to the happy couple and joked he was available to sing at the after-bash. A source said: "Robbie has been excited by the wedding build-up. He's been glued to the telly watching it. He told Bea Kate and Wills are welcome any time. He even joked Fergie could whip up a good old English roast." Bet she uses Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puds.

May 12, 201114 yr Author http://tasteofcountry.com/brad-paisley-col...obbie-williams/ Brad Paisley Leaves His Comfort Zone to Record ‘Collision of Worlds’ With Robbie Williams for ‘Cars 2′ Soundtrack Brad Paisley is back to giving kiddos more of his great tunes on the ‘Cars 2′ soundtrack, only this time, he’ll be collaborating with English pop superstar Robbie Williams. :w00t: Paisley contributed the songs ‘Behind the Clouds’ and ‘Find Yourself’ to the first take of the Disney movie, which will drop its sequel this June. With this go-round, the country superstar brings two new songs, including one which he says took him a bit out of his comfort zone and has a bit of a rock ‘n’ roll edge. The song, dubbed ‘Collision of Worlds,’ is a mirror image of Paisley’s relationship with his new musical partner Robbie Williams, the former member of English pop group Take That. Paisley admits that the continental effort was cool for him, and that he respects Williams’ work — even though it’s much different than his own. “The song is a rock vocal event with one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, Robbie Williams. It was John’s [Lasseter, director] idea to bring these two worlds together — combining the English and American takes on music,” Paisley says. “We’re both out of our comfort zone, seeing what happens when you’re forced into going new places, which is really what ‘Cars 2′ is about. It’s totally parallel to the story.” Williams shares similar thoughts about pairing up with the ‘This is Country Music’ hitmaker, and even offered a few behind-the-scenes details of their time together. “Brad turned up with his guitar and a basic understanding of what he wanted the song to sound like. He played me a few chords and we noodled and twiddled our way into forming this song,” Williams says of ‘Collision of Worlds.’ “It’s back and forth colloquialisms between two different countries speaking the same language and not understanding each other — until now.” In addition to the pop/country/rock track, Paisley contributes a sad song called ‘Nobody’s Fool’ to the sequel soundtrack. “It’s inspired by the most heartbreaking scene in the movie,” Paisley says, adding a bit of the plotline. “Mater realizes that everybody thinks he’s playing the fool, and he becomes sort of enlightened and realizes that he’s not playing the fool — he is one. But Mater realizes he is who he is and that was inspiring to me.” Even if you don’t have little ones, you can take Paisley’s word that ‘Cars 2′ is uplifting for people of all ages. Go catch his inspiring new tracks in the follow-up film, which hits theaters on June 24, or grab a copy of the soundtrack when it drops on June 14.
May 21, 201114 yr Robbie Williams is reportedly being lined up as a judge on new BBC talent show 'The Voice', putting him in direct competition with Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, who will be on the panel for rival series 'The X Factor'. Robbie Williams is being lined up as a judge on new BBC talent show 'The Voice'. The Take That singer - whose bandmate Gary Barlow has been confirmed for the judging panel of rival ITV1 show 'The X Factor' - could be set to join the likes of 'Someone Like You' hitmaker Adele and former 'X Factor' judge Dannii Minogue on the panel of the new reality series. With the US version of the show - judged by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine - being a huge hit across the pond, BBC bosses are hoping Robbie and Gary's rivalry would make the series a likely contender to steal The X Factor's crown. An insider told The Sun newspaper: "They still have healthy rivalry and this would kick in if they were on opposing shows. "Robbie would be great, particularly with his rivalry with Gary." Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland is believed to have signed up to the judging panel of 'The X Factor', taking over from Dannii Minogue after her commitments on 'Australia's Got Talent' meant she wouldn't be able to appear on both shows. In the past, Kelly said: "'The X Factor' is an amazing show. I love Simon because he's so honest. Everything he says I agree with". Music mogul Simon Cowell was reportedly keen to sign the former Destiny's Child singer to the show because of her "sense of humour". A source said: "Kelly was always the one with the best sense of humour in Destiny's Child. She'll be a great addition to the show." Elsewhere, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos has been in talks to replace Cheryl Cole - who quit the talent series to launch the 'US X Factor' - and join Gary, Kelly and past just Louis Walsh on the panel. http://www.list.co.uk/article/34507-robbie...udge-the-voice/
May 21, 201114 yr I thought neither Robbie or Gary had any time for this judging malarkey what with the tour commitments and all. Now both of them are being touted as judges but on rival shows? To be honest, if this is true, I'd have thought Rob was much more suited to judging the X Factor and Gary to The Voice.
May 21, 201114 yr To be honest, if this is true, I'd have thought Rob was much more suited to judging the X Factor and Gary to The Voice. I doubt its true at all ... but I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing as you. Kath
May 21, 201114 yr Adelle, Gary and Minogue do mot make a good judging pannel imo.. I will be dull. Adelle is hot to have due to her fresh success ok, but dump the Minogue singer wannabe :puke2: As for Gary he is ok but boring to death, I cannot believe he agreed to do sth like that when he knows it is not his strong point. Perhaps this is just a rumor... I doubt this will happen but imagine Robbie and Gary doing promo at both shows! This will be BRAINWASHING  I still think Robbie will be too lazy and Gary too cautious to join the shows...

I agree about Rob (which is why I think The Voice rumours are just that - rumours) in that he wouldn't do it - I think he knows himself how unreliable/lazy he can be. My admiration for Robbie Williams goes up slightly by the day - and I hope it isn't true. I agree that Gary will be a bit boring on X-F too - sure - he knows more about the business (from both sides) but I think he's vain for doing it. Kath Edited May 21, 201114 yr by Kathyp
May 21, 201114 yr The definites are: Gary, Louis and Kelly Rowland ... I agree that Gary, in this situation, WILL come across as very boring even though he probably knows more about the business than any of the others - I think he's a bit vain for doing it to be honest. My admiration for Robbie Williams goes up slightly by the day - and I hope it isn't true. Kath So Gary is official? :o He knows a lot about singing but he is not the talent scout (ala-Simon) this judging position requires and he knows little about labels and production... Not that it really matters... they just wanted somebody big to make noise! Even though I do not admire him as a person Gary definitely knows where he stands (or at least I thought so) , I don't see what the show could offer to him and vice versa. I really hope Robbie won't be a fat judge. Such judges are singers with music carreers already at dawn. <_<
May 22, 201114 yr Paisley pioneers new frontiers for country “It ain’t hip to sing about tractors, trucks, little towns, or momma,’’ Paisley sings over the strum of acoustic guitar as fiddle and banjo slowly creep in. “Yeah, that might be true/ But this is country music/ And we do.’’ The song is called “This Is Country Music,’’ and it’s also the title track off Paisley’s latest album, which will be released tomorrow. If the title imparts a sense of pride, even a little bit of defiance, that’s what Paisley had intended. “I’m very proud of being in country music, in spite of the fact that oftentimes I’ll tell someone what I do, and they’ll say, ‘Oh,’ ’’ Paisley says recently from California, where he has an oceanfront home. “There’s a few people out there who think, ‘That must not have been your first choice. You must be a frustrated something else.’ But no, that’s what I do, that’s what I grew up with.’’ What those skeptics don’t realize is that Paisley, who comes to the Comcast Center on July 16, is one of contemporary country music’s most original artists. Raised in West Virginia, the 38-year-old grew up with an appreciation of all kinds of music. One minute he name-checks country old-timer Little Jimmy Dickens, the next he’s talking about his admiration for Van Halen’s guitar heroics. Paisley’s albums brim with left-of-center ideas that most other mainstream artists would iron out of the finished product. His 2009 album, “American Saturday Night,’’ featured a song about the cultural shifts that Barack Obama’s presidential win signified; it was called “Welcome to the Future.’’ “This Is Country Music’’ is more straightforward than that. It’s a quintessential Paisley album, from its themes (heartache, the value of family, religion) to Paisley’s insistence on including a few surprises. Yes, that’s really Clint Eastwood’s voice and whistle on “Eastwood,’’ a blistering instrumental that pays homage to the actor’s spaghetti westerns. (“He’s a heck of a whistler, ain’t he?’’ Paisley says, obviously delighted that he sweet-talked Eastwood into collaborating.) Meanwhile, “Working on a Tan’’ channels the summer spirit of the ’60s, replete with sunny harmonies worthy of the Beach Boys. He enlisted Alabama to sing on “Old Alabama,’’ about a woman who gets in the mood for romance when she hears the country super-group. “One of Those Lives,’’ Paisley admits, will present a challenge if and when he performs it at Comcast this summer. There’s a lyric about “a little angel in a Yankees cap.’’ “I debated that,’’ Paisley says, adding that it would be in his best interest not to mention the Yankees in front of country fans in New England. “I guarantee you if that song’s a single, it’ll be tweaked. You won’t ever hear ‘Yankees cap’ on WKLB in Boston. [Program director] Mike Brophey won’t have to worry.’’ It was recently announced that Paisley will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming animated Pixar film “Cars 2.’’ True so self-effacing and so humble and such a big kid. He hit it off better with my 4-year-old than with me.’’) Paisley describes the song as “Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Zeppelin meets U2. There’s really no country aspect to it, other than the guy singing it.’’ He mentions that the experience took him out of his comfort zone, which begs a bigger question: Does he even have one at this point? “You know where my comfort zone is? Within whatever box you would consider country music. It’s a vague little box, but I stay within it,’’ Paisley says. “When something doesn’t, I’ll usually push it aside and figure out where else it goes in my career.’’ Surce..Bostonglobe Edited May 22, 201114 yr by Sacramento
May 31, 201114 yr Footy news now From:- http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11738_6960835,00.html Williams not a worry: Bratt Port Vale chair Bill Bratt believes Robbie Williams' say will be irrelevant as the shareholders vote to remove the board. After numerous debates and protests the unpopular board have resisted calls to step down, and the popstar has handed his 21.2% stake to the Port Vale Supporters' Club to cast his proxy ahead of Wednesday's EGM . Bratt told The Sentinel: "I know most people think we're going to be voted out, but I know a lot of people still support the board. "The board's and Robbie's vote basically cancel each other out, so then it will come down to the rest of the shareholders. "I think it could come down to a five per cent difference, so I believe it will be very close." And Bratt insisted he will leave the club should the vote go against him: "I can't speak for the rest of the board, but if we're voted off I will walk away because of the flak I've taken."
