May 19, 201114 yr Lol, sorry i heard 23 million on Graham Norton and on announcements for the Big Weekend (i think that may be TF, TFM, Remix combined? - don't know where else they got that number from) - its more like 15-16 million i think Also TFM is currently #9 on the world iTunes album chart, if BTW has this kind of longevity then wow!
May 19, 201114 yr The Album is awful, only TEOG will keep it on its feet for now. And all them posters in America, and the paintings on Trains, them thousand of magazine covers, Starbucks, Metro will also keep it steady, for now.

Tracks like Government Hooker, Heavy Metal Lover and, in particular, Scheiße have received huge critical acclaim. Even (the VERY few) negative reviews noted especially Scheiße as a standout track.

Even (the VERY few) negative reviews noted especially Scheiße as a standout track. I guess a few songs are good, especially Scheiße and Highway Unicorn, hopefully they are Singles, but I can't really see them doing well. Especially the type of music that's out now, BTW is totally different to it.
May 19, 201114 yr This album from many critics have got 9/10 overall. :o Edited May 19, 201114 yr by lee wallace
May 19, 201114 yr I never said that this album had no artistic value. I said her music is bubble-gum, primitive pop. I based it on the singles, fair enough. It's obvious that my opinion is not a fact. This thread is all about opinions though, not facts! To be honest, forums in general are for people to express their opinions, aren't they? I expressed mine and no-one asked you to interact with me. You can agree or not. In the second case, feel free to post your opposite opinion but stop telling me what to do or what to think. Having said that, you should really get over it, not me. For me her dumb dancey singalongs are classified as chav music which is why I don't want her to sell a lot, full stop. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w27/niyoncar/gif/no1curr.gif
May 19, 201114 yr I think 150-200k first week perhaps, with lots of longivity, and reviews from critics and the public seem to be excellent so who knows what it could've achieved in say, 5 years. I say between 100-150k, LOL at people who said over 200k for her second album. Didn't Adele get over 200k for her 2nd album :P
May 20, 201114 yr I don't know why Gaga can't reach 1million+ in the US with Born This Way first week sales. I mean, if Taylor Swift can do it I can't see why Gaga can't... PLUS she's going to be on American Idol to promote the album and probably Judas too...

May 20, 201114 yr But Taylor Swift does have higher album sales in the US though. And , if it counts, she's a lot better looking than Lady Gaga, too. ;)
May 20, 201114 yr But Taylor Swift does have higher album sales in the US though. She has an unbelievable promotional campaign though, including this: http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/225223_10150196619219574_10376464573_6664507_5967058_n.jpg The taxi promo strategy is, that if you show your copy of Born This Way to a taxi driver whose taxi has been painted like the one in this picture, you get a free ride. She has also teamed up with Starbucks; they'll be selling her album and playing it in-store and doing a sort of promotional game whereby you can collect codes and play online.
May 20, 201114 yr OMG the anticipation for this album is HUGE!!! I am not sure if I ever experienced this before...maybe Britney OIDIA album but at that time internet was 0 compared to today, so I'm not sure if people felt the same way for Britney as for GaGa now.
May 20, 201114 yr The Fame sales are a little confusing. A lot of sources say 22/23 million (http://connollyblog.dailymail.co.uk/2011/05/the-new-lady-gaga-album-born-this-way-is-it-any-good.html and countless others) but i'm pretty sure its around 16 million.... Either way Born This Way will be huge in its first month, and hopefully will continue to rack up enough sales to be a well deserved follow up to TFM

She has also teamed up with Starbucks; they'll be selling her album and playing it in-store and doing a sort of promotional game whereby you can collect codes and play online. That's the problem. Her management are selling Born This Way album practically everywhere. I don't even think the Billboard 200 count sales such as Starbucks bought albums...
May 20, 201114 yr LOL I find it extremely amusing how it's mainly the utter Britney loons who are slamming the album. The album should be huge, hopefully outselling Adele by some miracle. The singles so far do not reflect how good the album really is. So I'd say we can expect at least 1 million sales by the end of the year if the album is promoted correctly with a few ace singles choices. Although I'm still gasping at how much 'Judas' has underperformed.
