I kind of think that, but Someone Like You is at #11, and that's from a 2 million-selling album, not to mention, the song itself has sold like 800,000 already, so it is possible.

I've told you this before- that was the second single, which is far more likely to do well than the fourth

Why? That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't matter what number single it is.

well, the first and second single usually sell more than the third or fourth because the album hasn't sold as much by then, the higher the album sales get, the less the singles will sell, I know it doesn't always work like that- but Adele's album hadn't sold as much when Someone Like You was released, hence why now a third single will likely sell less as the album has sold 2 million, same with Rihanna- the album has sold well over a million by now, so it will be harder for her to get another top 10 hit than a few months ago when the album hadn't sold as much- get what I'm saying here, like I said, it doesn't always work this way- but SLY was released before the album reached 2 million, so it was going to be easy for it to get a high chart placing

Yeah, that all makes sense.

Except that Someone Like You is top 10 NOW, after the album has sold 2 million. So clearly Set Fire to the Rain can easily go top 10 too.

California King Bed could do it too (although I don't think it will, but Someone Like You has demonstrated it's easily possible).

While I obviously hope both songs get to #1 in the US, I wouldn't mind if they didn't as it would stop this foolish "streak talk". The streak has to be broken at some point and I would prefer it to be broken earlier rather than later so I can be spared the frustration. Seriously though, I'm not a fan of GA and 'Untouchable' climbing to only #11 even hurt me.

I agree. Katy's streak is rather impressive considering her album got to number 1 and all the singles :o mind boggling, not even Gaga can achieve that!

I was devastated when Girls Alouds run ended but it was 20 and hey it was an unbelievable run, especially considering it was a girl band who generally are hard to break into the industry! Also they were from reality Tv!

Girls Aloud have had such a long career. I was thinking the other day, that Cheryl has been in the charts for almost 10 years now!!! :o Just wow!!

It's just a weird thought really. Cheryl has been in the charts like 5 times longer than Lady Gaga! :o

When you put it like that :o Cheryl has been around a while now! She has racked up loads of hits now. Impressive considering the haters claims she has no 'talent' -_-

Eat that bitches - 24 top 10 hits and 6 number 1s! Ha! oh and 4 number 1 albums, just wow :o

 But really, now that I think about it more, it's really incredible! :o

Cheryl's first chart hit was at the same time as All the Things She Said by T.A.T.u, Lose Yourself by Eminem, In Da Club by 50 Cent and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera were popular! :o

I actually remember Sound of the Underground being released really well! I watched the show that Girls Alound won, although I only remember tiny little bits of it. I had no idea they'd still be relevent all these years later! Although I didn't really consider it then tbh.

Nobody even had a clue who Katy Perry or Lady Gaga were back in these days!

Yep it really is incredible!

Wow them songs are quite old now and Sound of The Underground still sounds quite fresh and interesting - True classic there.

I remember the song and the show a little, I was like 8/9 at the time so I don't remember a great deal. I actually remember Sarah Harding the most after she survived the elimination against Javine! and got the last place. I do remember thinking how $h!t the boys were  To think they became my favourite act. Bought my first single ever by them and saw them on tour which was my ever first concert. Girls Aloud I love them  My teenage years!

Yeah, I must've been like 9 or 10 when it was on. :D One thing I remember vividly from it was this one episode where they were voting people out, and they were down to 6 of the girls, and 5 would get through, and one would get voted out. I remember watching, and being mortified. It must've been the worst experience ever for whichever girl it was that got voted out. It's a bit different when it's just one winner out of 6 contestents, but when it's one loser out of 6 is a bit "ouch". :(

Wow. When you think about it, there were probably people our age that liked Girls Aloud back in those days, and now they'll be almost 30, and there'll be like little 8 year-olds today that really like Promise This!! Quite a lot of people have enjoyed her songs over the years! That's like a 20 year age difference between their fans!

If Cheryl has a couple more albums, perhaps people that liked Girls Aloud at the beginning might have kids that like Cheryl too!!! :o That's a scary thought! :o I think the only artist I like that my parents liked when they were younger is Madonna!

Yeah, to be honest, even if Cheryl and all of Girls Aloud completely disappear off the face of the Earth tommorrow, I think they've left their mark!!!

That is the bit I was on about with Sarah! That was the final and she was the last to be picked and the 5th one chosen for the band! can you imagine missing out like that, looking how incredible their career was!

Yes they have spanned generations. Most people can sing at least one of their choruses to a song! people don't admit it but they can. I was in a taxi once and the driver started to sing to Love Machine when it came on the radio. He was dipping his head an tapping the window and everything

Omg their kids liking Cheryl when they did as a teenager will make them feel old, hey that could happen to us :o

They have more than left their mark, they broke the record remember for consecutive top 10 hits and were the biggest selling Girl band of the last decade. Also in the Guinness world record book a few times. They shall not be forgotten. (I will remind people :kink:)

Nicole Scherzinger - Right There #100 ! Eventually!

I just feel like being an iloon tonight :yahoo: Finally top 100, think it will climb to like 95 by tonight?

I hope this week it gets top 100! Yeah it will only climb during this week as it will no doubt be B listed.. I've not seen it on Radio Channels Yet though :(

Can someone tell me where The Saturdays & Flo Rida - Higher is please? I somehow can't access the top 1000.

Oh gosh. Yeah, that was tense TV viewing for sure! Considering I still remember it after almost 10 years anyway!

My favourite Girls Aloud songs have to be Biology, Something Kinda Ooh and Call the Shots. AMAZING pop songs!!

Yeah, the consecutive top 10 hits is pretty good! I mean, all artists have their Love Games, so it's amazing they last for so long! :o

Also expect Lada Gaga - Judas to break the top 9 by tommorow. It will get a new peak this week aswell. Oh the wonders of a music video. Bruno Mars no doubt will get number one this week aswell with WDGA dropping quite fast now.

Nicki Minaj iTunes positions:

1. Where Them Girls At (with David Guetta and Flo Rida)

35. Super Bass

56. Girls Fall Like Domines

74. Till the World Ends (with Britney Spears and Ke$ha)

103. Moment 4 Life (with Drake)

405. Fly (with Rihanna) Can't wait to see the music video for this!

Love them  Something Kinda Ooh  I read somewhere it was wrote last minute to make the album and it just became one of their most well known songs.

Yea true, I was trying to work out the what you mean about Love Game, Until I got it! Still though, 11 is not bad for Untouchable..

Eric, Can you tell me Saturdays positions please ! My top 1000 never seems work :(
I love how Lee is always requesting the Saturdays. It's great when they are like number 432 and you still celebrate

Nicki Minaj has did exceptionally well for an album that peaked so low but has went on to outsell albums that have reached top 5 !

I'm waiting the fantastic day Higher reached 300k sales. It's currently on 287k Sales. Notorious is apparently an On Air release! Actually gutted :( Here's a preview.

PopJustice says that part was the most boring part so I'm excited because I love the preview.
