You must listen to 'Riverside' - it's my essential listen of the day. :D

 

 

I absolutely adore the track and was plesantly surprised that I won BJSC XXXIII entering this track. 'Mr. Saxobeat' is also fantastic - I've been seeing the video quite a lot on the music channels so hopefully the track will continue climbing up iTunes. :D

I noticed how 'On The Floor' has done remarkably well in your chart considering it didn't hit the #1 spot. It's easily the best track from all of the high profile US female artists who released new material so far this year - Britney Spears I would rank second to J-Lo at this momen in time.

It's still primarily the same song but it just sounds so much better the way I've edited the track.

 

15 (08) Lady GaGa - Judas (09-08-15) [3 wks] Great to see this shoot up the iTunes Chart. I'm no fan of the video, it's not at a BR/Telephone standard but the song deserves sucess and a peak higher than 9 in the UK

 

'Judas' has already started to benefit from the music video being released - there was never a shadow of doubt this would happen. I personally think the track itself it a fussy mess with the chorus being its only redeeming feature. For me, Lady GaGa has been hyped so much with her new era but the first two singles have lacked what made previous singles like 'Bad Romance' so sensational.

 

18 (--) Chase & Status feat. Delilah - Time (18) [1 wk] This is good but a bit lifeless compared to "Blind Faith". C&S can do better productions than this

 

Oh totally. 'Blind Faith' has been one of my most successful dubstep singles of 2011 alongside 'Me & You' by Nero. I do like this but you're quite right in that 'Time' isn't anywhere near as strong as 'Blind Faith' hence entering much lower down my chart.

 

24 (--) Birdy - Skinny Love (24) [1 wk] This is a grower, but I still find it boring

 

It's definitely been a grower. Prior to the video, I didn't really "get" the whole point of this. I liked the sentiment of a young 14 year old girl having success with her own rendition of a Bon Ivor track - it's just that I was never too keen on the original. Typically, after the video went into heavy rotation, I was hearing this more thus it starting to sink into my brain. It'll never go top 10 for me but for what it is, it's good.

 

32 (18) Nero - Guilt (18-32) [2 wks] I'm loving Nero right now, they're a breath of fresh air as dubstep isn't chart dominant right now. They never fail to release a great tune!

 

I seem to be the clear minority who doesn't think this is as strong as 'Me & You'. I know it peaked higher but I wonder which of the two tracks will have sold more downloads by the end of the year. I reckon 'Me & You' will end up selling more despite peaking lower. Chart position means nothing, as 'Love The Way You Lie' proved last year. :D

I really think it's a shame because back in 2006 The Feeling were one of fave acts that year. They topped my chart with 'Sewn' and after releasing a further two excellent singles ('Fill My Little World' and 'Never Be Lonely'), I decided to buy their album 'Twelve Stops Then Home' which was a brilliant debut. I think the main problem with The Feeling came with their second album. I liked 'I Thought It Was Over' but felt it lacked something that could've made the song even better. Then further singles just didn't click with me in the same way their debut album singles had. Wich leads us to 'SMWOF' with is good, not brilliant. It also doesn't help that radio and music channels aren't so kind to rock/indie bands at the moment but are more than willing to play Justin Bieber. :(

I don't understand the stick Bruno Mars gets on Buzzjack. For me, he's releasing really good pop music. Nothing groundbreaking but I'm sure that isn't the intention. I think Bruno Mars has proven to be a very successful for his knack of writing great songs. That's what I like about Bruno Mars and that's why he was one of most successful acts in my chart in 2010.

 

10 (--) Blue - I Can (10) [1 wk] - A good set of new entries this week, but this has to be the best :)

 

Blue highest charting single for me since January 2004. :D Although that said, If I'd been compiling a chart since 2000 I still think this would be their second highest charting song with only 'All Rise' possibly peaking higher. That said, there's a strong chance that 'I Can' will climb to its peak over the coming weeks. Next weekend is the big Eurovision Song Contest so the annual Eurovision takeover will happen in a fortnights time with my fave tracks that qualified making their impact here.

I quite like 'Rearrange' but hadn't really considered the solo instrumental as being better than the vocals. The song overall is good as it is, but I still prefer 'Move Closer' which was a top 20 hit for me in March.

No problems, if I introduce someone to new music then job done. :D It might climb - it's not really had a significant enough boost to persuade me to move the track up. However, it's done well to remain firmly at #31 for a second week. Often tracks that enter low down the top 40 tend to drop out the following week.

There are so many British bands who have a successful period but struggle to maintain this over a longer period of time. Personally I think record companies are to blame. Look at Calvin Harris and his genius "excuse" to get his record lable off his back in 2008. He told his bosses his laptop got lost at Heathrow Airport and it contained his only copy of the album. They gave him an extra six months to make a new album from scratch. SIX months?!!! :manson: Of course the album lost - it just allowed Calvin Harris an extra six months to tweak the tracks he'd already produce.

 

Now! That's What I Call...Genius. :lol:

 

Sadly every other British act hasn't been so fortune with their money hungry record execs so The Feeling fall into this category. They should've been given another year at least to work on 'Join With Us' to tweak, rewrite, alter and change exsisting tracks - they might have even had more time to write a brilliant track but time went against them, and ultimately so did the quality.

 

As for Eurovision, I also watch it every year. I'm not obsessed with Eurovision like some Buzzjackers are but I've always been interested in the event. My fave is 'Sognu', the French entry. I'm aware that opera isn't something that appeals to young kids but this is an incredible piece of music imo.

After his dominance in 2010, Bruno Mars has fallen unlucky this week to debut at #1 as I'd say Alexandra Stan is a good 15% ahead in popularity but Agnes Obel is still way ahead of everybody else.

'Mirrors' was a slow burner. When the track went top 10 in Germany, I saw the video then and I thought it was alright. Then I started seeing the video more on our own music channels and I got into the track more. Then it appeared on the release schedule so it entered my Pre-Release chart. Then it was removed from the release schedule and I kept it. :D (if a song enters my Pre-Release chart, it will definitely make the top 40 even if its scheduled release gets cancelled). Et voila...a top 5 - had I charted this back in March when it was top 10 in Germany it would've been lucky to make my top 20.

You say "sneak" but I'd actually say Blue were comfortably inside the top 10. Whilst the track looks like it's going to plummet down the UK chart next Sunday, 'I Can' should easily maintain its place within the top 10 here.

Yeah, I've just not taken to 'Judas'. I've given the track enough chances over the last fortnight hence why it went top 10 in the first place. I just find the song overall really disappointing - the verses really are just mish mash of "stuff" and I still think the only good thing about the song is the chorus. However, chorus alone doesn't get a track high up my chart - it has to have much more to make a bigger impact.

I've not heard the album so can't comment. 'Time' equals the peak of 'End Credits' whilst 'Blind Faith' remains - by a country mile - their biggest hit in my chart.
