#00274E hosted the final of BJSC LIV in a two part spectacular over the bank holiday weekend with the results concluding last night. In a nailbiting fight to the end, it was Skall who were rewarded their debut win after entering the sublime 'Supreme' by Postiljonen. So popular was the song with the people of Batidas, it accounted for 78% of the votes in SF1 and held up extremely well in the final with the track receiving 56% of the overall votes. Well done Skall. :D

 

Meanwhile Batidas finished further down the scoreboard in 24th place with our representative Alex Hepburn 'Under'.

 

On a final note, Batidas officials have already chosen our next entry and look forward to visiting Skall next month.

At 2am this morning whilst the whole of Batidas were sleeping, Skall opened the semi final voting stage of BJSC LV.

 

Batidas have drawn 5th in SF2 which brings us to introducing our act. Representing Batidas are Manufactured Superstars with their track 'Zombies In Love' but who are Manufactured Superstars? :o

 

The Manufactured Superstars are an electronic dance music DJ/production duo from Denver, Colorado consisting of Bradley Roulier and Shawn Sabo.

 

As DJs, their performance style is high-energy, accessible and technically challenging. Their trademark stage costumes are matching NASA spacesuits and often share the stage with a six-foot-tall teddy bear. Sabo and Roulier have stated that their core philosophy is, “We just wanna play great tunes and be the funnest DJs out there!”

 

Never one to shy away from a slice of dance music, this stood out as a big contender to represent Batidas as soon as we discovered the track.

Skall hosted the live final of BJSC LV yesterday evening and The Daily Hits are delighted to announced Batidas finished in fourth place with their entry 'Zombies In Love' by US DJ duo Manufactured Superstars.

 

Dance music has really exploded in 2013 and has been reflected in the results of BJSC so far this year. With Carli already providing #00274E with their debut win, this month it's Dutch DJ Marcel Woods featuring Sweden's Vanbot who provide Caerfyrddia with their rather overdue debut win.

 

Batidas would once again like to congratulate Caerfyrddia for finally triumphing and it's not too bad for bookies BETidas who gave odds of 10/1 for the track. :D It does however prove that Sweden's dominance in BJSC is still intact albeit with a Dutch flavour this time round.

 

The hunt is now on for Batidas HQ to find their next entry. At the time of going to press, we had nothing. We're hopeful to find another gem before confirmations for BJSC LVI open.

BJFestivalen is HERE!!! It's been two years since Batidas finished 8th in BJFestivalen 2011 with Ani Lorak representing us. The contest took a break in 2012 and returns once again with the usual four seperate semi final stages.

 

Caerfyrddia, who will be hosting BJSC LVI over the coming weeks, are going to be responsible for also hosting Deltävling 2 of BJFestivalen. All four semi finals opened last night and the identity of the Batidas entry was revealed.

 

Representing Batidas is BJFestivalen are Spanish act Love Of Lesbian with their track 'Fantastic Shine'. If you like Imagine Dragons and The Lumineers, chances are you'll like this track. If you don't, then you won't like either. :P

 

Once the voting for Deltävling 2 closes, the top two placed songs will automatically earn a place in the grand final in Morpeth Cove, Ashton. The tracks that finish in 3rd and 4th place will head back to Espen for Andra Chansen. So it's all or nothing, and having seen who we're up against Batidas are pretty sure the BJFestivalen 2013 journey will be short and sweet.

14. Batidas: Anise K feat. Snoop Dogg & Bella Blue - Walking On Air

 

Caerfyrddia have opened the semi final voting stages of BJSC LVI and Batidas have drawn 14th in SF1.

 

Representing Batidas this month is Australian born producer Anise Arsalon Khoshmashrab (aka Anise K) teaming up with US rapper Snoop Dogg and American Pop/RnB singer Bella Blue. The track has been a massive success particularly in Greece and now Batidas hope to introduce the BJSC world to this dance gem.

Sunday night saw Caerfyrddia host the final of BJSC LVI and The Daily Hits are glad to report that Batidas finished in a respectable 13th place with our entry 'Walking On Air' performed by Anise K, Snoop Dogg and Bella Blue.

 

For the first time Batidas were left til the end as Manufactured Superstars waited patiently to announce the televotes. In what proved to be an extremely close final, it was our 12 points awarded to Trifoski that sealed their victory with the sublime track 'So High' by Ghost Loft. The Daily Hits would like to congratulate Trifoski on their amazing first win and we're already excited about the prospect of a Gold Room. No expenses spared, eh? :D

14. Batidas >> RÜFÜS - Sundream

 

Last night Trifoski opened the semi final voting stages of BJSC LVII revealing the identity of all 51 songs that will compete this month.

 

Batidas have drawn 14th in SF2 which brings us to our representatives for the contest. RÜFÜS are an Australian based indie/dance act who have spent the last 18 months touring in their native land of Oz, playing several festivals and creating remixes for Kitsuné (FRA) and Plant (USA). During that time RÜFÜS (aka Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George & James Hunt) have been writing and recording material for their debut album which was released last Friday in Australia and America.

 

Have no fear though as RÜFÜS are representing Batidas with brand new track 'Sundream' taken from their debut album 'Atlas' and is a sublime fusion of indie and dance music. We literally discovered the track last week and instantly loved the previews. The track might not be available in its entirety on YouTube or SoundCloud but the full track is available on the newly released The Official BJSC LVII compilation so grab your copy today and fall in love. :wub:
