I have a horrid feeling this will come back to bite me on May 15th, but I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that Norway won't do anywhere near as well as most of you are predicting. Yes, it's feel-good, but it really just screams jury-friendly toned down Allez Ola Ola and doesn't have winner written on it at all. Low top ten perhaps, top five at best.

That said, I'm pretty certain the only reason so many of you are overpredicting this is because we haven't heard much else good yet and so this fairly obviously stands out, but frankly calling this one of the favourites to win when we've only heard a quarter of the songs (none having been revamped yet) so far strikes me as faintly ridiculous.

Reading back I'm still enjoying Phil's RIDICULOUS claims that this year was a straight fight between Norway and Sweden. Someone's clearly gotten too drunk off the Scandiloon punch :smoke:

Stella said to a gathered Norwegian media yesterday that she is very happy with the preformance and that "She have already won" and how the audience danced and sung to Haba Haba. but she is very shocked and sad that she didn't qualify for Norway, she feels that she have dissepointed us, but she havn't! We are proud of Stella :D :cry:

Phil says that every year. Apart from 2009 when he said Norway and Iceland, and was quite right!

I still maintain that Sweden has a good chance of winning. Y'all dismissed me as loony when I predicted a SNP win when they were 10points behind in the polls. I WERE RIGHT.

To be entirely fair, I'd only heard like 6 songs by then. Two of which were Stella and MF. :lol:

I did not claim Norway's 2010 entry. It was dire. I was fully on board with Team Lena.

:lol: True, every year when either/both nations send something vaguely good then!

Team Lena was the only team to be on for those with taste last year :D It was 2010's best song after all :cheer:

Sweden has a good chance of winning, but it's by no means a straight fight :lol: I'll be FULLY on board with relooning for his chances if he draws 20th or 23rd if he qualifies.

This is the third year I've actually watched Eurovision and with Predictions of:

2009 || Iceland//Norway

2010 || Germany

2011 || Sweden//Norway

One failing isn't too bad.

In fairness, predicting Norway and Germany was hardly a long shot :lol: Although full credit on maintaining the faith on Iceland.

If the UK can be seen as having a chance from 14th, Eric should be fine anywhere as long as he puts in a brilliant performance, no?

Norway and Germany were always my tips for the top. The former was completely obvious and Germany I had a niggling feeling could and should win, but her many MANY critics and nay-sayers made me doubt myself - mainly Keith Mills and Peter30 who were adamant that she wouldn't see the top half of the scoreboard, let alone win :lol: I'm glad that in the end I put some money on her!

This year I've championed France and the UK from the off, and still am. Nothing from Semi 1 has convinced me that it's a winner...

From the moment she pulled off that performance in her Semi it was clear that she would be the only one to get anywhere near Rybak.

Germany split opinion down the middle, it was hardly an easy call to predict her to win. The sensible prediction was Azerbaijan, until she turned in that desperate performance and performed 1st in the final :lol:

Why France? It's god awful pretentious $h!t. And it reminds me of a Scandipop-less La Voix. We all know how well that did.

I still do not think the UK is a winner, Lee will overscreech and kill our chances stone cold dead.

Indeed. I was predicting 8th-12th for Yohanna beforehand I think, but her flawless vocal (perhaps the purest vocal I've ever heard in the contest!) really put her up there as a contender for 2nd place. There was never a seed of doubt that Norway wouldn't walk it though, although I didn't quite see that complete landslide coming.

Difference being that 14th has seen strong results more years than not. Put Eric on 2nd or 3rd (or, even worse, 8th and two before Russia) and he'd be completely screwed.

Plus, this is Eric Saade we're talking about. Someone who, looks aside, is very much talent-wise the weak link in the whole thing :lol: I reckon he could pull off a Shady Lady from 20th or 23rd but anything in the first half (5 slots in the first half, five in the second) would end him. He needs to be as far away from Russia as possible, and the later the better.

That Money Note :wub: She was just so brilliant live, it's why I have so much confidence in Nótt/Slow Down.
