Okay, she has other topics here, so I plonked this topic here.

According to some websites (Wiki included, so take with a pinch of salt) Alanis has been back in the studio and a new album will dop in

October, on the Cooking Vinyl label. Hubby MC Souleye has been writing and producing with her, and is supposed to have an "Urban" sound to it

:o

Any confirmed news regarding this? I know she wants to focus on being a Mum and acting so I am not so sure about the date, but she is definately

recording. Don't know about her going Urban though

Oh, a 'new' song called Professional Torturer leaked a while back too:

I want Flavors of Entanglement Pt.2 please

I could so get down with Urban Alanis. It'd probably flop anyway though, but its nice to have some new music from her.

Urban Alanis featuring rent-a-rappers sounds like one HOT MESS waiting to happen.

Not sure about her going urban either, i prefer classic Alanis. I wish these artists would stop jumping on the 'whatever's in' bandwagon all the time.

She should stay true to her roots, and not copy others with hiring renta-a-rappers like Pitbull or whoever.

At the AMA's she said she is in the process of picking tracks for the album, which should be out in the Summer

Alanis Morissette has revealed that she is readying a new album.

The singer-songwriter said that she has recorded a total of 31 songs for the LP, which she hopes to release next summer.

Speaking at the American Music Awards, she said: "I'll have to pick the final 12 - the Sophie's choice process of letting go of the ones that don't make it."

Morissette, who became a mother for the first time earlier this year, insisted that "it's not one of those records that is a lullaby record of any kind", but admitted she has been "profoundly affected" by motherhood.

Last month, the star posted an image of herself in the back of her recording studio with the message: "back in the studio saddle....the songs have come in droves...! helmet on (sic)".

Morissette's last release was 2008's Flavours of Entanglement, which peaked at number 15 on the UK album chart and number eight in the US.

!
I thought Guy Sigsworth was producing this album - just like "Flavors of Entanglement".

I've recently bought Flavors of Entanglement and only listened to it today, so its quite ironic I saw this post. Its a very good album and hoping for something similar from her next.
