I thought this would be a good idea to help us keep track of what's airing when. I'll update it throughout the year to take into account cancellations and changes. Plus we can slag off the networks poor scheduling when they've all been announced

Reality TV dominating NBC's prime-time schedule - expect this is a thing to come for the mainstream networks in the coming years (worse than it already is).

Imma edit it into the first post the now. I'm loving the decision to keep Bones at 9pm on Thursdays behind X Factor and AI when that Post X Factor slot could have been used to launch TerraNova. They showed great faith in Bones by putting it there for Spring 11 and it's paid off for them with Bones doing rather well in the 9pm hour [Also known as the toughest hour on TV as it carries the highest ad-revenues].

I'll leave the mid-season schedules for another thread as they can change quite a bit from that with cancellations and the like.

Hmmm I really want to see ABC & The CW's schedules. The former has a lot of interesting shows and loads of gaps opening up from their cancellation massacre whilst I'm really hoping for once The C-Dub have put some proper thought and iniative into their schedule and picked up some decent shows yus.

Though this begs to differ

Surprised they aren't putting TerraNova after House, like with Alcatraz. Disappointed Alcatraz is being held back, I was looking forward to that, and TerraNova, so in a way I'm also disappointed that neither have full seasons, but who knows, one or both of them could turn out to be rubbish.

edit: NBC have now released trailers, not just clips :D

Trailers of new FOX shows. (Terra Nova, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, The New Girl, Napoleon Dynamite, Allan Gregory, Alcatraz, The Finder)

They really do look fantastic [except 'Napoleon Dynamite' & 'The Finder']. Will definately be checking out the others. The two sitcoms look hilarious.

I am shocked at how many shows I want to watch this year considering I did not check out one new series last fall except 'Raising Hope'. I honestly think FOX will be on FIRE this year.

Some of the script of Terra Nova sounds like it was ripped out of the first 2 episodes of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (how sad is it that I know/think that?)

I hate My Teenage Daughter looks funny, but I don't know if it will take off

New Girl looks like it will be good, I hope it does well, we need a new ensable comedy!

Napoleon Dynamite looks strange and not very good

Allen Gregory looks like it could be funny.... It has potential anyway

Alcatraz looks like it will be really good, but I smell something that will be axed after 4 episodes

The Finder, the trailer started off slow, but it looks like it might be either really good or really bad, probably the latter though.

No word on midseason yet though dramas 'The River', 'Good Christian Belles', 'Missing' & 'Scandal' alongside new sitcoms 'Work It' and 'Apartment 23' are slated to debut later than September. Strange that the networks seem to be holding back their big hitters this year (GCB, Smash).

Another shock is the absence of 'Cougar Town' from the Fall Schedule. It will probably have a midseason order or be used to prop up the lineup when/if one of the new sitcoms fails epically (Man Up anybody?)

Terra Nova looks suitably epic. I didn't realise it starred Shelley Conn. In a leading role no less! What an amazing coup for her to go from Mistresses and Marchlands to one of the most highly anticipated new dramas on American televsion. I love a bit of Brit success overseas.

Like I said in the other topic New Girl looks really good. Unfortunately Teenage Daughter looks a bit shit and I had quite high expectations for that.

Alcatraz looks like typical high-energy Fox fare so if you like that sort of thing I guess it's a winner. The production values look great. Finder on the other hand left me totally baffled. It looks like a load of old piffle. Aside from having a hot to trot cast I wouldn't give it the time of day.

As for ABC's schedule I'm surprised they're holding back Good Christian Belles but it's as close to a surefire hit as can be so I guess it makes sense to have something which will pull in good ratings next Spring. I didn't necessarily expect Body Of Proof to come back so soon either.

Still there's four new dramas all beginning this fall which I'm absolutely desperate to watch on ABC alone so that's pretty exciting. The standard of the new pickups seems to be so much higher this year than last (across all the networks).

Another shock is the absence of 'Cougar Town' from the Fall Schedule. It will probably have a midseason order or be used to prop up the lineup when/if one of the new sitcoms fails epically (Man Up anybody?)

Maybe its due to Season 3 not being filmed yet? Season 2 is about to finish so perhaps it'll come back next year?

I don't know anything about tv though

It doesn't work like that.

I'm not surprised they are pushing it back to mid-season, the ratings have been dreadful. Does anyone know how many episodes they've ordered? Thirteen? They should have just cancelled it.

Oh  Well this all confuses me.

Much as I adore it, I can see it being axed after Season 3, unless it really picks up :( Which is a shame.

Cougar Town has really begun to win over the critics though so I guess they're going for a 30 Rock angle whereby the ratings are continually below-par but it garners enough praise to hopefully do big numbers on DVD.

'Cougar Town' wasn't doing that bad behind 'Modern Family' in the fall. Could've been better but they put it on hiatus for months  I've never watched it but I really want to.

I think it'll have a 13 episode order as Deadline states it will air on Tuesdays at 9 from Jan with 'Apartment 23' when DWTS is on hiatus.

'Once Upon A Time' sounds soooo much better than before in that press release. I am so excited to watch that. 'Revenge' also could be pretty decent.

Can I ask why shows are out on hiatus? Is it so TV people can put new shows on instead? I can remember Cougar Town being replaced by Mr. Sunshine

when it was on hiatus.

I think Awake has actually become my most anticipated of the new pickups. It looks absolutely heartbreaking and incredibly sombre and emotional. Jason Isaacs seems like such an inspired casting choice. He's a bloody fantastic actor and even in that trailer where he's having a mundane conversation with a therapist he radiates empathy and charisma.

These are the shows that (as of right now) I'm anticipating:

ABC

Bitch In Apt 23

Charlie's Angels

Good Christian Belles

Missing

Once Upon A Time

Pan Am

Revenge

Scandal

Suburgatory

NBC

Are You There Vodka?

Awake

Bent

Free Agents

The Playboy Club

Smash

Whitney

FOX

Terra Nova

The New Girl

CBS

A Gifted Man

If even half of those turn out to be strong programmes then I don't know how I'll find the time to watch...

ps. ABC's previews are up now too. I can't even cope with this.
