May 17, 201114 yr Got to agree with Jark. Awake looks the best out of all the pilots. The trailer for it (it could just ebt he way its put together, and the music) but it looks bloody fantastic.
May 17, 201114 yr Cougar Town has really begun to win over the critics though so I guess they're going for a 30 Rock angle whereby the ratings are continually below-par but it garners enough praise to hopefully do big numbers on DVD. ABC already have Modern Family for that, Cougar Town is purely filler for the time being. They were extremely lucky to get renewed for a third season to be honest and it's definitely coming to an end next year if ABC has a new hit comedy. The reviews really aren't that special, plus the 30 Rock angle only works when you're winning Emmy's and getting nominated for countless awards.
May 17, 201114 yr To me, Awake looks brilliant but it seems to be one of those things that will start off great but end up with no real sense of direction and be dragged out for far too long. I'll happily be proved wrong though. Terra Nova seems to be a bit of a weird Lost meets Jurrasic Park but shall definitley be trying that, but 'Alcatraz' has me most excited right now.
May 19, 201114 yr All schedules now released. As expected, Nikita is moving to 8/7c on Friday paired with Supernatural (which is probably a better pairing than with TVD, and at least The CW doesn't seem to dip on a Friday), and The Secret Circle is getting TVD lead-in on Thursday. Gossip Girl keeping it's time slot [edit: oh, it's actually keeping on the same day but on an hour earlier] and leading into Hart Of Dixie, with 90210 moving to Tuesday and leading into Ringer. Edited May 19, 201114 yr by Jaack Sykes
May 19, 201114 yr 90210 into Ringer seems frankly ODD but nonetheless I think the latter will debut very nicely, potentially a 1.5 in the 18-49s (which for the CW would obviously be great).
May 20, 201114 yr I would've had HoD and 'Ringer' as lead ins. '90210' is going to be even more battered by 'Glee'. I am seriously thinking that 'Ringer' & 'TSC' will both premiere to over 4 million viewers. I wonder if either will get a 2.0 in the demo. That's next to impossible for The CW. I think TVD has only managed it once or twice. I feel HoD will premiere to more 'Nikita/Hellcats' numbers.
May 20, 201114 yr Interesting that Persons of Interest ahs taken the coverted 9-10pm slot on CBS. rDzwkj3VO8g The two leads are both well known film and TV stars and two of the executive producers are J.J. Abrams and J. Nolan. Must have got the CBS executives in to a bit of hype machine at least.
May 20, 201114 yr Person Of Interest is CBS' biggest new show and apparently no drama pilot in their history has tested better. I expect it to begin with massive numbers, an easy 3.5+ 18-49.
May 20, 201114 yr Author It's going up against 3 big guns. Grey's, Office and Bones. It might premier big, but it's going to be hammered in that time slot.
May 20, 201114 yr It's going up against 3 big guns. Grey's, Office and Bones. It might premier big, but it's going to be hammered in that time slot. Dunno. It's an interesting move from CBS. I mean who would have thought 2/3 years ago CSI would have been moved? It's an interesting move by CBS. Viewers and demographs cannot last forever. Grey's Antamoy has dwindling viewing figures, and I expect the loss of Steve Carell in The Office will harm it dearly. I can't remember what the lead-in is, but I think it will do very well. Not sure how well it will do in the long-run, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't judge. What I do know is that Michael Emmerson isliterally one of the best actors about.
May 20, 201114 yr I don't know what viewing figures Grey's has attracted previously but the recent season finale scored a 3.6 in 18-49s - that makes it one of the biggest scripted dramas. It's not in any danger just yet, in fact it'll probably call time on itself before it's axed by the network.
May 20, 201114 yr Author Grey's is hardly dwindling. Bones, The Office and Grey are above a 3.0 rating week in week out with Bones and Grey's taking 20m viewers between them. That is the toughest time slot on TV and Person of Interest is going to have one hell of a battle.
May 20, 201114 yr I'm starting University in September, how the hell am I going to find time to watch all these programmes! Some of them look fantastic!

Oh I don't think it will be easy, but everything I have heard about it so far, appears as if it's going to be v.good. What the show is going to be like I don't know, but it will do very very well. Trust me when I say that a very high percentage of LOST fans will tune in to watch this (just because of Michael Emerson, plus the whole J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk connection). Of course it could be crap. Trust me Lovett you'll find plenty of time to watch TV shows in your 1st year at Uni.

I haven't seen the trailers for the CBS shows yet so I have no idea what Person Of Interest is like. It could do a Flashforward with a high premier and a steady decline right into the traps of the cancellation bear. My DVD collection grew MASSIVELY while I was at uni. Lovett not only will you have time in your 1st year as Roo says, but throughout the whole degree. There's always time for TV.
May 21, 201114 yr ^The problem with Flash Forward was that it was very confusing. It also didn't seem to go anywhere after inital promise. That's the problem with large mythology shows in the mainstream US networs. I don't think the show was that good anyway, it just reeked of ABC wanting to find a gap to fill the void that LOST would be leaving. Persons of Interest looks as if it will have a small bit of mythology (little more than the likes of CSI and The Mentalist) but mostly be stand-alone episodes.
May 21, 201114 yr I'm starting University in September, how the hell am I going to find time to watch all these programmes! Some of them look fantastic! Haha. When I first started university I would always come home drunk and watch the new shows completely hammered, maybe you'll do the same (and forget about them in the morning).
